i make a small photos comparison: i take the same shot from the new a5000 by sony (APS-C), from the smart lens qx100 (1" BSI) and from our xperia z1.

Assuming the camera in the Xperia Arc is the same as the one in the Xperia Pro, would someone be able to post a few comparison shots from this and the Satio? I badly need a new phone that isn't just used as a camera to replace the two phones I'm currently using. Thanks.
Never had an Arc, can't do the comparison.

Ive got the Satio and the Arc. The Satio still wins in pics...for resolution and for the xeno..flash...but the arc is not bad. If you want fantastic pics stick with the Satio...wich I still use..

well satio win cause have 12MP and arc have 8MP only but the arc will win in low light condition photo.....
i like the xperia z camera mod which can take photos while recording video and photo effects
so if anyone can help that it works on arc :good:
Hi xda members, wanna share my xperia z1 experience so far! It's been a pleasure working with this premium device. Really snappy, loads anything i throw at it really fast. Camera is decent, although the over processing can be annoying at times, but the firmware 257 should've solve this issue. Z1 is great, Z2 is awesome...
We could only imagine what will Sony present with Z3 or Z4 (or whatever they named them).
Sony will rule in Android world.
If they add navigation bar control through settings UI - I could leave without root on something like Z3/Z4.

Don't know why you quoted me.
What I said was referring only to Xperia.
Z1, Z2 then next, device that will come this or next year.
I'm saying Z1 has best camera...
And last part... See .that... Sony will rule - so, really don't know where did you found that.

If you read their assessment the tests are done to compare overall camera performance and not just image quality of the photos, they also include video performance as well. The Z2 and the pureview have the same score in image quality but the Z2 trumps the pureview in aspects such as exposure and autofocus, which are all accounted for in the final score. I'm no camera expert but DxOMark are supposedly one of the best in camera reviews, the Z2 is looking even more promising then ever
Highly impressive that it best the pureview. Does waterproofing a camera effect it's performance? If so, then it's even more impressive.
I tend to agree that camera performance should include some measure of accessibility. If a camera can only take great shots in manual mode after fiddling with 17 settings in perfect light on days you got lucky with the old lady and a promotion at work it isn't as useful day to day as one where you can just press the button and get a lesser but decent shot to me.

can somebody post some pictures with low light. i was thinking to keep my z3, but i'm beggining to like and thinking about buying the xperia x. The sunrise picture from djlukew looks like a difficult one for a camera and it looks amazing. Does this phone have the option to choose the exposure time btw? Thanks for your shares

Related question: Anyone else experience problems focusing with the sony camera app? Had to switch to Open Camera for it to work as I expected. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Things I've tried to fix focus on sony camera app:
- Clear app data
- Tried manual and automode
- Disables object tracking
None really helped.

Can u please upload a night photo with flash, on Nougat? I've a big issue with that. Greenish tint over the picture in night shot with flash. U find a post in other section. Thank you
