good morning to everybody.
I've searched in the site before posting, but it seems that nobody has reported this bug.
I've bought yesterday a Z1C, and I've paired with my Mercedes Audio 20 Bluetooth.
They paired perfectly, and both Audio Bluetooth and handsfree calls work.
But every 1-2 minutes they disconnect and after 30 seconds they reconnect with no reasons.
Before I had an iPhone 5 and everything worked well.
I've tried to connect z1c to another bluetooth device (a portable bluetooth speaker) and there's no problem.
Do you have any ideas to resolve it? I use the car a lot because of my work, and it's very uncomfortable (and unsafe) using telephone normally.
Thank you very much to everybody.
Ema
Sure! Z1 is compatible, and they have (I think) the same.hardware... They don't know the compatibility with z1c just because it's new.
But as I said there's no problem of pairing the devices... It's just that they loose the connection every minute.
Upgrade bluetooth firmware of you Car to resolve the problem.
Sent from my D5503 using xda app-developers app
I've contacted Mercedes and they told me that they can't update... I know I need to insist more.
Just to understand: have you had the same problem? What have you ask to Mercedes?
Sorry for questions, but maybe you can save me
Thank you
Ema
Mercedes, BMW, FORD and so on, if they don't update old firmware then you maybe have problems with new phones.

Good! Today I send another e/mail to Mercedes dealer...
I'll let you know.
make a test, disconnect only audio Bluetooth on your phone to see what happens.
Done!
In bluetooth option of the phone, I've two profile related to my headset: TELEPHONE AUDIO and MULTIMEDIA AUDIO.
I switched off multimedia profile (A2DP), but every minute it disconnects and reconnect soon after.
Same situation.
Another test, decline all requests from the radio to access Contacts, messages etc

Could you please tell me where can I decline the authorization? Deleting just the pairing is not enough I checked....
Have to set up on your radio to not synchronize contacts, messages etc
Ok, sorry I've understood another thing.
Done, no Contacts synced with the car, but connection/disconnection continue.

disconnect phone from both the music and the telephone. Then connect it to the music screen, played a song, and while playing, connected it to the phone screen.

With this procedure, first time music stopped before activating also phone; second time, 10 seconds and disconnect phone (1) and music (2).
Few seconds and they both reconnect.
Last test, upgrade firmware of phone to the last (14.2.A.1.142).

Yeah, I checked that post and I'm "ema3" there.
It's very similar to my case, but nobody of sony support replies.... It seems that it happened also with other car handsfree brands.... I start to think that it's not a problem of mercedes firmware.
I tried to update the firmware of z1c using SUS and the other one (I don't remember the name) but no update is reported.
I need to flash using the link given by war1 later.
Have you also had the same problem?

With TouchHD i did sync Phonebook to my nissan car without problems (winmobile 6.1)
I think this program will work on HD2 also (winmobile 6.5)

No, that does not help.
With this app you can only send contacts and so on to another device.
But here, everytime you connect the device via bluetooth with the car, the car should read the contacts from the phone.
That worked without problems with the microsoft-stack.
I am having a similar issue, paired phone with Mercedes HFP and first time contacts came across. Next time back in the car and it reconnects, the contact memory is empty? Can still make and receive calls but no contacts. If I re-pair the phone by resetting HFP in car then contacts come across? Software issue on phone or car kit driver issue? Previously had HTC S710 and had no problems. Very annoying so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Same here - I even ca`nnot get the car be paired with HD2 - why ?
Hello,
here is my issue with the BT connection: I have a Pioneer F900BT unit in my car. With my previous Nokia E66 everything worked just fine.
Now, when connecting with HD2, connection works ok, phonebook is downloaded ok, BUT: when there is a call, the music in the car is not silenced automatically; what's worse, it seems the phone doesn't send any call identification to the headunit, since all the history (outgoing, incoming calls) is empty. So, I cannot redial or see who's calling me.
I did try the fix in the registry described on another thread (setting HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\sys\COD=5374476, but it doesn't help.
Any idea?
Thank you.
It works perfectly with my Mercedes Command with Bluetooth Adapter, it does not transfer all of my 800 contacts because it use to make a new entry for each tel. number (Home / Works, etc.) therefore it says "memory full" at about 75% but I can understand. At least I can call/recognize up to the "S" beginning contacts.
Anyhow, since I used to have this problem in the past, you could try Jetware, it worked for me with my Cruise.

To follow up, I have found that its the pin lock (mentioned in another thread) that is causing the problem. If you unlock your phone before you pair up then contacts are coming across every time. May not work for everyone if their problem is different but has for me so wanted to share. If anyone knows how to bypass security issue with paired device I would like to know but as a workaround its better than no contacts!
I have this problem with my BMW iDrive too. No problems getting the address data on the HD but not working for me on the HD2. Can pair and make calls though. Any solution?
phonebook does not sync
I have a BMW with the bluetooth feature. From what I have noticed there is a connection started to the phonebook and it starts sending (and receving some) information but after about 110k it stoppes and the phonebook is disconnected. I would be happy to assist in any further analysis if anybody has any ideas.
I have no problem making and receiving calls in through this setup, but, as stated, the connection to the phonebook is not possbile. This was previously possible throgh the HD

read my previous reply, its because your phone is locked whn it connects. If you unlock it before you pair up it should work.

Well, unfortunately it did not work. I unpaired the phone from the carkit, then removed the pin on the phone, did a soft reset, paired the phone with the carkit and saw that it started communicating with the phone book, but the communication stopped after about 110kb, as it usually does, and the phonebook was then disconnected.
Any ideas anyone?

I'm facing the same issue... New Mercedes, phone calls are no problem but phonebook is not accessible... I doubt that it's a lock issue... When I paired it it also didn't work but there it was certainly unlocked...

Hi all
Sorry if there is another thread with this already but I am at the end of my tether!
I have a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.2.2 and am having problems when paired to my Merc B200 with Audio 20.
I believe this may be a common problem but I just need confirmation from someone in the know.
ISSUE:
I can pair with the head unit no problems, but when I make and receive calls, there is no audio. Apparently the other end can hear me, but I am unable to hear them.
Audio is on max, both on the phone and the audio 20.
Any ideas? Is this a software issue?
I did contact Samsung, who obviously told me that this was down to the car manufacturer and MB told me to buy an older phone (great advice!).
My wifes Iphone 5 works flawlessly, as did my Iphone 4s.
MB seem to be under the impression that a car firmware update will no resolve the problem and basically I am scuppered. Surely bluetooth should be backwards compatible!!!
Cheers
Andy
I got a blackberry to work with a mb car kit a while ago, not sure of the symptoms the user was seeing but he was pairing from the phone to the kit. I tried pairing the phone from the car kit and it then started to work flawlessly.

Not sure if it's the same thing but I'm at a loss as to what to do. I bought the Jaybird SB2 bluetooth headset. I've read elsewhere others have had issues connecting to Mac's (I have the same connection problem with my Macs) but they worked fine with my old Galaxy S2 (when it had pre-jelly bean rom). As soon as I upgraded the sounds cuts out after a couple of minutes although the player says the music is playing. I can get it to work again for another couple of minutes by disconnecting then reconnecting the bluetooth. I then flashed a custom JB rom (supernexus I think) on the old S2 and everything worked perfectly. I've just got my stock S4 and the same problem with the bluetooth keeps happening.
I can only think it's a software problem since the headphones work perfectly with my Nexus 7 and my old S2 with this custom rom but I can't find anything online elsewhere recording the problem. Not really sure where to turn for help since I doubt Samsung will care.
Unsure if 100% related, but I've had some issues with BT on my Subaru Outback ('13).
When I am (simultaneously):
1) Charging
2) Connected to my car stereo via Bluetooth
3) Playing music (using default GS4 music widget)
4) Navigating w/ Google Navigation
The Google Navigation voice cuts out half way through giving the direction.
"In 250 feet, turn right onto" ... ... ... ... nothing
It's really horrible, especially because this is the PRIMARY use for my phone (car audio & nav).
Update:
Winamp doesn't interrupt nav, but I lose BT controls on steering wheel.
AVia doesn't either and keeps BT control functionality.
All music players I've tried, however, just seem to crash at random...
They either stop altogether or think the music is still playing but no audio is on.
All of this is resolved by using Aux instead of BT.
This is what leads me to believe it is BT related.
Anyone with experience or help here, that'd be awesome...
I've had a breakthrough with mine
I installed an app called 'Soundabout' from the playstore that reroutes any audio to a BT device, this did the trick, I now have audio both when making and receiving calls.
It also works for a2dp streaming issues.
The odd thing is though, I deleted the app afterwards just on the off chance that it fixed anything in the background.... And it did! My BT audio is now working seamlessly without the app!
I am currently running a flashed stock rom (XXUAME2).
Hope this helps others

Hi,
I have the same issue.
I have just got my new Galaxy S4, everything is working fine except the Bluetooth. I am having trouble to use the Bluetooth on my 2011 Toyota Car corolla. I am able to connect to the Bluetooth, and play music but problem with starting to make a call. when I say "starting to make a call" means I can make a call, but the receiver can't hear me and I can't hear them neither. I was able to answer the call or hang up, everything is working fine except no voice come out from the speakers.
The funny is it will work if I use Apps to make a call, such as Skype, viber.
I can't find any solution so far.

4ndynic you're a legend! My wife got an S4 and it didn't want to work properly with our Mercedes with the native bluetooth. I installed Soundabout (non Pro version), went into Bluetooth Behavior, turned on (Dynamic) Media Audio Usage, and now it works perfectly!! I especially love the fact that the alerts for SMS etc still come through the phone.

It appears that the setting may revert if you turn bluetooth off and back on again. After doing that, I had to go back into soundabout and untick then retick that box. Can anyone else confirm this behaviour? It certainly appears to be a default setting in the operating system causing the issue, which means it may be possible to fix with a patch, and Samsung should certainly be able to fix it in a future update.

Hi guys, I am thinking of trading in my old phillips carstudio ced780 for a Erisin ES8990A which can be viewed here

It's a pure android. Boots up in a matter of seconds because of being suspended when turning the ignition off. Full system reboot takes less than minute. Touchscreen works ok, no problems there.
As for disadvantages:
- 3G USB modem didn't work, it's being recognized, logs to the network but my APN list is empty and I can't add any... I use wifi instead (mobile gsm hotstop)
- 1GB ROM for application - not much, but for me it's sufficient.
- there is some noise when the unit is ruining (not in speakers, the volume changes nothing, it's getting from inside of the unit). I don't know if it's just my unit... When I listen to the radio it doesn't bother me..

Thanks for the reply, I assume the low storage problem could be mitigated with moving apps/data to the SD card, thanks for the clarification on it being pure android, as android normally doesn't have dvd drive drivers I thought this would have been a ce/android hybrid, but they must have used proprietary drivers.
As for the noise, my current headunit does the same, it's the fan so nothing to worry about there.
The only thing that worries me is the suspend mode you speak of, which must run off the car battery when the ignition is off, therefore depleting it if the car is not used for a while?
Thanks again for the reply!

True, it might be the problem, but without actual info about power drain during standby I can't say much. The truth is that this standby is much more practical as booting the system on every ignition.

Ok, thanks
Nálatok is recsegős a rádió? Van rá valami megoldás??
Got the headunit today and can confirm that tomtom does not work, which is no problem for me because the igo it comes with has tomotm maps, and local search. Google maps also works. Maybe the new tomotm go app will work in future?
It is possible there are settings in the hidden menu (password 3368) that allow this but i haven't got a chance to try it out yet.
Hi stewartie4,no, I'm sorry, but there is nothing hidden in the menu that can solve the problem, at least as I saw it, look at yourself and see what you can do, I hope you find something that can explain the problem
thanks
Hello, you too have this problem? :
when I start iGO or Sygic, voice alerts not work.
To hear the voice of Igo or Sygic, I must change the voice
and at the same time that I hear the voice of iGO or Sygic, the voice of the radio stops, and to hear it again I must restart the radio.
And when I restart iGO or Sygic, voice alerts do not work
Nothing new about ?
ES8990A Settings and other issues
Hi Guys, I have one of these radios and I was wondering if anyone knows how to turn the disabled settings items back on. also no matter what I try I cannot get the USB Dash Cam to work nor the built in DVR, I also cannot get the backup camera option to work. any ideas or help would be a blessing.
Hello everyone, I am borrowing a oneplus 2 from a friend while my phone is in for repair, I have had it for about 12 hours now and have found an issue with the Bluetooth, when connected to my car (its a JVC aftermarket stereo) it loses connection every 30 seconds. I have tested the JVC with my girlfriends Sony xperia m2 aqua and it works flawlessly, has anyone else had this issue?? And if so, how did you fix this?
Thanks
Yeah I dont have connectivity issues but I don't get any audio controls through my car or song info. I think it is all software related issues.
Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
I can report that the oneplus 2 have problems connecting to MB car audio system. Phonecalls work but music from the phone to the car don't work. It is a new MB c-class 250.

I also have BT problems with my car. My car has BT for phone calls only, so I also use a BT to 3.5mm adapter to my aux input. When I connect to both, it keeps pausing my music every 5 seconds. Once I disconnect from the car BT, then the music plays fine. Very annoying. No problems with any of my other phones.

@Mackis Haven't tested music on mine, but I have a 3 month old MB A180 special edition. Voice working 100% I use the usb port in the car and play music from the usb drive. Much better than bluetooth, you can change folders etc, were you cant on bluetooth!
I'm experiencing the same issues. I'm an authorized dealer for Volkswagen and Škoda and cross-tested several radios this morning. Very annoying.
I have a Clarion fz709 and the OPT works great with it on BT. The radio is old as dirt too. Works for calls and music.

Several issues on BT here, too. The connection to an Audi MMI and phoning working properly, but no audio controls or Phonebook synchronization. In a german board the app Bluetooth Phonebook is reported to solve the problem with the synchronization. Will check that later on today.
hi, i've bluetooth problems too. audio and calls are perfect, but my contacts are not transferred in the radio... this is so uncomfortable! anyone have same problem?
With my Ford Focus everything works fine!

These are two different issues with BT and car radio:
case 1: can not or not correctly sync contacts (in my case all numbers where labled 'mobile' and some where missing).
case 2: no support for audio control while playing or no playing at all
possible solution for case 1:
( all credits for discovering this app goes to psychonaut at Android-Hilfe.de Forum )
First check out the trial version to test if it fixes your problem!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android_rsap.irmctest
If yes then go buy the full version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android_rsap.irmc
There may be a solution for case 2 but I do not know of any nor can I test it because the Parrot Asteroid (Android Car Radio) works without a problem for case 2.

Hi,
with my Renault Megane 2010, the RadioSat, now, Works fine, after the update to 2.1 OxygenOs.
My Bluetooth problems gone away.
Now I have full functional hands free system. Tanks Oneplus.
Regards
Yes! I also can confirm my posting from Sunday, that the App Bluetooth Phonebook solves the issue of not transferring the phonebook (at least for my Audi MMI).
Problems with Volkswagen Discover Media Pro too:
- address book not syncing
- cannot play audio
- not able to make calls
however:
- i can see text messages (SMS)
- i can see the call list/history (obviously i only see telephone numbers, not the contact names, since the address book is not syncing)

My new Skoda Octavia isn't working with Oxygen OS 2.1.0. Connection works for 5 seconds and then the whole thing hangs. Good-news is that this is indeed software related as CM12.1 CustomRom from Garak works with Contacts/Spotify/Telephony
This will fix all your problems guys!
Bluetooth Skipping Fix: if you have a conflict or issue with your bt add this line to build prop using root explorer..thanks Shrek and reaper

Indeed: different rom (SlimLP for me) works flawless. Calling, text messages, play music, everything.
Now let's see how stable it is and how the battery lasts.
I wonder if the build.prop fix mentioned above works. Hope we can get some confirmation about that. That would be a good alternative.
Phonebook sync doesnt work for me either, but music and controls do - no song infos, but my car never showed those. Kia ceed 2015.
Driving 2015 Camaro and all my phones stream Google music or internal phone music fine but with the nexus 6p I am having tons of skipping that is not usable. Can't get through one song without multiple skips. Could this be a marshmallow issue? Tried to unpair, re pair phone and car with deleting nexus 6p from car and phone but no luck. Rebooted phone and paired from scratch but issue persists. Please advise or it is going back. I have long commute to and from work and must be able to stream from phone.
Thanks in advance,
Ian B

Software/bluetooth stack issue.
I haven't been able to stream from media via bluetooth on my LG G3, ever..... Seems that with Lollipop and before some things were broken in the stack and have not been fixed. It even happens on my Galaxy Tab Pro running CM11.
My lg g3 att version on lollipop streams perfect in Camaro and all previous phones. It's just the 6p not streaming correctly. Is this something we can report to Google to have them look into it. Gonna try on my sisters 2015 sentra and report back.
Ian B
I'm having the same issue on a few different cars. Very annoying. Also playing through Aux seems to go silent after a few seconds too.
called the dealer to set up appt and bring camaro in. tested in sisters 2015 sentra and streams perfect w no skips.
ian b
No issues on my BT in my Elantra. Different car obviously but it's not universal. I don't use the phone portion just stream music though.

My Nexus 6 has Marshmallow and works perfectly in my 2014 Vette. Which entertainment system do you have? When my 6p eventually comes I'll update...
I have noticed a few minor skips streaming to my 2014 Infiniti q50. Usually more when in my pocket but have had this same issue with every phone when in my pocket while streaming.

I've experienced this some as well. My Nexus 6 never did it. Toyota Tacoma (2012).
I've had this problem at work with my bluetooth speaker. It happens when I have my phone in my pocket and have to crouch down or something.. I feel like if that glass bar on the back is blocked, blue tooth signal goes down the ****ter...
in an effort to consolidate the BT related issues as there seems to be a few, may I suggest that we focus our efforts on this thread:

G'day mate, I have exactly the same issue. It's not a marshmallow issue as my n6 worked perfectly. I have a 2014 Holden commodore ss-v (same as Chevy ss sports sedan) which also uses the mylink system. So to me it sounds like there is some kind of issue with the mylink bt? Bt works fine in the wife's Nissan xtrail.
Can you please let me know if the dealer has any suggestions? Maybe they have a software update for it that will fix it?

Will do. If not fixable phone going back. Bluetooth streaming a must.

It's not your car. My 2015 Subaru STI also skips, usually a few times in the beginning of the song with Google Play Music. My podcast app also has weird sound issues from time to time. No issues with my Note5 or G4 either.

It's not a signal issue, my G3 did the same thing when I flashed AOSP ROMs. My phone is only a couple feet from my receiver.

Surely hope it's a software-solvable issue. Altough, with all antennas behind an alluminum back with only a visor to concentrate all "input/output", I'd say lots of stationeries (reflection) are occurring in that phone.
Noticed a few skips today over bluetooth in my car. Didn't happen at all yesterday though.
