Built new ROM from source - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So after a couple of years of rooting and flashing Roms on my phones I decided to try building a ROM. I decided to build slimkat. Everything went smoothly and no issues. I just want to make sure its ok before I flash it on my phone. Is there anyway I can check it before flashing? I compared it to the latest weekly on their site and my zip is about 5 MBS larger than the weekly. I am on a d801 lg g2 T-Mobile.

ROM for d803?

Just a question, I know for a lot of other phone a Canadian equivalence phone (ie Sammy s3 and note 2) can use at&t ROM with out mods...is this the same case for the d803? Can we use d800 ROM without modding? I just find there's limited ROM for d803, please advice.
J
I dont think so from what ive read. I downloaded an att ROM today actually and removed the boot.img from it. Going to flash later when i get home and see what happens.
It would be nice if the LG roms worked like sammy...being able to flash without issue across diff models/carriers especially since roms for the d803 are limited.

[Q] what is the best custom rom based on stock kitkat for LS980?

i'm a veteran HTC user, and i'm looking for a rom for my wife's sprint g2. I'd like it to be fast and clean (rather than overly customized with a zillion options ala CM), de-bloated and better battery life if possible. there seems to be a lot of different roms for the different variants, but its all confusing, and the sprint g2 seems to get the least amount of roms of all the g2 variants.
i have flashed twrp 2.7, done a fresh nandroid backup, and i'm currently rooted on ZVC running stock 4.4.2.
thanks in advance!
in before the lock. I can honestly say Mahdi and Omnirom are my favourite.
now check if your nandroid has efs backup and put on computer also grab a copy of the rom the backup was made on.
oh and dont ota on custom recovery, softbrick guarantee doing that
best ls980 rom
The best rom i have flashed and used with no issues is SuperG2 preview
I'm using PARDUS 7.4. Very satisfied.

History: Let me explain how this port came about,
I am known for my Kernel development on the G3, I build a highly advanced custom kernel thats capable of reaching clock speeds of 3.03ghrz and gpu clocked up to 700mhz..
We are talking about a g3 here.. stock speed is 2.47 and gpu stock at 530mhz.. anyhow I build for 9 variants of the LG G3..
Which is d850/d851/d852/d855-32/d855-16/d856/f400/ls990/vs985 . Being a kernel dev, you learn what hardware goes with what..
For example: the D851/D856/F400/LS990 are all BCMD Devices. while the D850/D852/D855/VS985 are all WCNSS Devices.......
I know from experience that the f400 (Korean) is 100% same as the D851(T-Mobile).......
Same holds true on the V10 with the H901 and the F600, When I first tested it, I flashed the untouched boot.img and system.img,
and it booted fully with no issues.
I extracted the system and boot from the KDZ my self........
When I first booted, the only issue we had was keystore.. Keystore is tied into hardware..
So this is when @aclegg2011 stepped in.. He took the Stock LP H901 RoM's keystore and replaced the Stock F600 MM keystore......
He did some other changes too dealing with files.. and of course build.prop changes............
So here we bring you, The First UnOfficial Stock MM on your H901 T-Mobile V10 Device..........
Enjoy Peepz..................................

@Eliminater74 : For the Main Port and Idea, and Risking it all to make sure it worked.
@aclegg2011: For the file changes to make sure no FC happen and a few other things.

Awesome I'll be flashing this as soon as I get off work today. Thanks for the hard work and sacrifices you've taken!
Been testing for half a day and can say its working pretty good. All essentials such as camera, phone calls data have been working just fine.can't think of any problems besides the listed finger print issue. Great work on this guys, it is pretty amazing the amount of work that has been put in and accomplished.
Oh sweet, thank you so much guys for the hard work so far. So just boot to recovery, nandroid, full wipe, and flash the zip?
update 1:
I atempted to flash but got an error 7 something about this is not a 6P
TIA
Does xposed work for this? If so, will test this when I get home

It should. Maybe someone will test that soon.
Lol I'm willing to try it. Need xposed for my game, hardly any keyboard have the autocorrect for Underworld Empire, the module Always Correct solves that.

@kdoweb: Make sure you are on twrp 3.0 or above, it will not install if you are on anything lower.
@amoot329: xposed works, but it breaks the second screens incoming calls and contact widgets like it did when we first got xposed to work on our device.
@EJerVJerO: Unfortunately wifi calling, and VoLte is not present in this rom since it is from korean variant.
Ahh thx that was it I'm still on ver 2.85 I will update when I get home thx

Old and outdated N4, looking for advices to renew the device

Hey everyone, I've been away for a very long time from this device (and forum obviously), I need some help catching up. My device is currently running rastapop rom (5.0.1) with CWM 6.0.4.7. I want to renew my device with a clean, latest and stablest rom, I dont care about features or Android version. Can anyone recommend me a good, solid rom, and provide some details regarding the installation? (e.g should I update bootloader or CWM?)
Many thanks in advance.
I found that the latest stock 5.1.1 on a nexus 4 is very stable without any issues.
Latest build of purenexus rom is awesome.
I had been away from this phone for a while as well and I have to agree the latest Pure Nexus is butter(first I updated to the latest official 5.1.1 to get the latest partition updates.). Better than average battery life, super stable. I've yet to have a single reboot or any other unpleasantness.

The first thing you should do is to flash the latest twrp recovery, CWM is not maintained anymore for the nexus 4.

Best custom rom?

Hello I just rooted my device last week... it is an old phone I just had lying around. The only custom rom I have been able to get working using safestrap was goldeneye 53. It is pretty stable. I was just wondering if it worth my time to try any other custom roms that work and are stable on the sgh-i337. Or if I should just stick with this goldeneye one. I also tried the thor one but it was buggy barely could get past the setup wizard stopped working message it was just a big headache.

Only roms that are based on a stock ROM can be flashed to the att s4.
Right now, I'm on Thor and it's been pretty solid. Only gripes being you have to clear data on the download manager before trying to download anything from the playstore.
