[Q] SMS messaging doesnt work!! HELP!!!

Soo, I rooted my xperia x10 and I flashed the CM 6.1.3 froyo by achotjan v03 ROM and I tried send a sms message but all it says is "sending" and it won't send. I tried sending a sms message to my xperia x10 but i didnt recieve the message. If anyone knows about this error, please reply!

Could be you're using the wrong baseband or your APN settings.

Are you on bb52 or 65

I had the same problem. I found out it is caused by autorun manager apk. If you the same apk installed try enabled programs that self restarted.

I also experience this with EWJet ROM (which version i forgot, the one release early June). I follow the exact method provided in the post. When you have this symptom, you cannot receive SMS at all. Then I gave up, since i was waiting for important SMS, and reflash with stock again.

APN is only for internet purpose. Could be because of baseband or custom kernel.
When you want to use custom firmware which come with custom kernel, make sure you have latest X10 xRecovery installed to boot the custom kernel.

Well not all custom ROMS come packaged with custom kernels and OP didn't specify if a custom kernel was flashed. Achotjan v03 ROM comes with stock kernel and unless X10 2.2 USER flashed a different kernel, it'd say it's the baseband. It's probably bb65 too so flash a different bb, try bb67.

APN is also responsible for MMS.

Make sure you have 40 mb free or more in the internal memory. It seems you've just flashed but maybe you restored backed up apps or something.

The only problem I have with messaging is I can't send long message.
On baseband .52 I only can send 1 message length. 2 or more, it will end up showing "sending" and give an error after a few minutes.
On baseband .67 I only can send 2 message length. 3 or more, it will end up showing "sending" and give an error after a few minutes.
If it only me that have this problem? Anyone can test it and tell me.

Well i said for custom roms with custom kernel.. it just as a reminder, not the solution of the OP problem.
Anyway no need to continue debate. I just clarifying what i meant.

hello guys, i just flashed slim bean, but whatsapp doesn't work.
how can i fix? it stops when i insert my name and my avatar, and there are a black window with the notice: "inizialitation - wait a moment"
but it doesn't go on.
if i can't use whatsapp i have to change rom...

I've got exactly the same problem after flashed last rascarlos' ROM, so I think it isn't a ROM problem but a Whatsapp one. I have changed ROM, go back to an old version in which it worked perfectly, but the problem doesn't disappear. I've tried with knzo's, rascarlo, CM...
I have sent an e-mail to the WA team but the answer is a standar e-mail with no solutions

don't worry, my english isn't good, i'm italian.
anyway, let me know if you fix the problem!!!

I can say that this is not a ROM problem because I run Whatsapp in Slim Bean 2.8 without any hassle (and it was working in 2.7 too).

On v2.6 and WhatsApp works fine with no problems...

it was just a server problem by whatsapp, now it works

They are still having problems. Go to settings>help>system status to check for yourselves.

Hi,
I have a problem after upgrading to kitkat 10/12 build I have internet and can do normal text messages but the phone cannot send picture messages it fails to send.
Can anyone help?

No one reported this bug, maybe you flashed the wrong gapps? Try to flash again the rom without gapps.

Tried Redownloading rom flashed with no gapps same problem. I'm on tesco mobile uk . Still get Internet SMS but no pictures send , really odd.

I suggest you to try flashing slimkat and see what happens. Or to wait the next release of cm11 and see if there's still that bug.

Fixed the problem. The messaging app that came with the rom had no mms settings for sending. I downloaded textra from the App Store a nod disabled the standard messaging app and now all works fine.
Hope this will help if anyone else has the same problem

Visual Voicemail
When i installed this rom i no longer have access to my Visual Voicemail. I did before I flashed the Rom now it wont work. Any suggestions?

You have to install Visual Voicemail as it is not included in the ROM. Follow these instructions to get it back. Also it sounds like you dirty flashed, otherwise it would not be there. Any further problems will require a clean flash of the ROM by entering SafeStrap. Preform a factory reset and advanced wipe by checking Dalvik Cache, Data, Cache and System.

I did install via safe strap but I just downloaded the apk then installed. By doing it the system/apps way it got it working again. Thank you so much

I have a question about sms notifications. How do I remove the contact pictures from the notifications. I removed the stock sms app and retried both 8sms and chomp but the pictures still show. The only way they don't show is by using the privacy settings but then I can see who is texting me.

I don't get the picture in notifications, I'm using 8sms and have the stock mms installed. As for the late reply I apologize. I didn't get any notification in my email like I do normally.

Hello. I am not able to access the Volte on/off in my settings even though it has been added to my account. I need to be able to use the 6 way conference calling feature. Any help is appreciated.

If you are on V17 it is in the settings menu under more networks/mobile networks. I had it enabled on my phone but I disabled it because I don't like it at all. The feature hasn't been removed from the ROM so it will work. Sometimes VZW takes a while to activate it.

I am on v17 but that option is not there. Does verizon need activate it or to do something on the back end before I see it at all? I already added it to my account. Please see the attached.

Yes, it will not show up until you either activate it online in your account features or call VZW on the phone.

I installed stock mms and 8sms and still get pictures when receiving messages I removed the contact pictures and then it will give me the senders initials I've tried both stock ricks rom and your debloated rom I use a ni2 heavy debloater but it still shows contact pictures any help would be great

My mistake. I usualy don't have contact pictures so I added one to try it out. When I added it I didn't save the contact so the pic didn't show. I just tried it again and saved the contact with the pic and it dose show up in the notifications as yours dose. I don't think there is a option not to show the picture if there is one for the contact. Sorry for the confusion.

Long-time lurker, first time poster here...
Has anyone succeeded in making the Visual Voicemail APK work properly? I've tried on multiple devices under R16 and now R19.2. If I boot to stock, VVM works great. If I boot to the ROM where I've installed the APK, it will launch, sit at "please wait while we check your account information", and then eventually error out.
Unfortunately, since I've activated the HD Audio in my Verizon account (which also activates the free version of VVM), I don't get any notifications as to having a VM waiting (since it relies on the VVM app, which isn't working!)

Few post back... On the first page.... U will have to install it using root explorer. System/ apps/ paste the apk file. Reboot.

Double SMS messages arrive

Does anyone know how to fix this weird issue that I have? Every time that I get the same SMS message twice. I have J500h and this happened on every rom that I installed.

Very unknown problem . I am also a j500H user but i faced this problem NEVER ! maybe you did something wrong

Probably something to do with the gapps version you are installing.
By any chance does your phone have 2 messaging apps?
If yes than that is the issue you're flashing a version of gapps which has Google messaging included even tho the ROMs have the stock android messaging app thus your device thinks you are receiving 2 messages

I guess that is true I flashed Odyssey now I don't have that problem. Previously I had rr and bootlegers rom have with pico open GApps
