So I updated my phone to kitkat today and after my wifi will not turn on. I'm getting a message saying that "my devise security has blocked a action that is not permitted. No further action is required" Not sure what to do. I tried a FDR twice and nothing. Pulled the battery. Any ideas. Please help. I don't wanna have to send it to Samsung. Rogers wants 50 bucks for a loner phone

Try the Virgin Canada ROM. This one allow the wifi turn on without problems. I had the same problem and the Virgin ROM worked perfectly.

Every now and again it turns itself off I have to manually turn it back on, could this just be a software issue in the s4, happened for about 3 weeks now, it's nothing major just annoying.

Mostly a software issue try a complete reset
Or u can also try flashing a other firmware using odin and reset the device if 1st option does not work
Firmwares for your variant check my sign
.
I just got the s4 and its total stock but it keeps dropping on and off wifi. In fact in settings it sometimes says I have poor wifi conection. But I know my router is good and my wifes g2 has no problems. I read online there is alot of issues sinve the 4.3 update and even after the patch. I also read samsung is not going to do anything there blaming sprint or your wifi. Should I switch to the g2 while I still can or hold out for a fix or does anyone know a fix?

Also it took 4 hours to set up phone. Most was the crazy slow download of apps from play store and updates from play store. Small apps would take 10 minutes to download then about 5 to install while on my wifes g2 same app same time downloaded and installed in under a minute

WiFi switching on and off is probably under wifi settings. Just turn it off and it will stop switching on and off.

I tried that even did the ##code to get into WiFi and turn off WiFi saver. Nothing worked and then it started saying no mobile data connection but I was on lte and it worked. Plus I was getting that Knox problem so I just went to the g2. Thanks though

As you said that you have flashed a custom ROM and now on stock rom,
Check whether you still have the IMEI #.
Also try insterting the Sim card on another device to check if Sim working, if working then try doing a factory reset.
Also once factory reset done as go in Setting-More Networks-Mobile Networks-Access points-Reset to default.
Try the above steps and let me know if problem still persists.
Dont forget to click the Thank button:good:
im currently running sgh i337 on nb1 .. If I were to odin it back to amdl will I brick the phone ..

You can't Odin back, it'll fail. It won't brick but it won't work.

Might be a sim card problem. You've probably taken it out and put it back in? You might have to get a new one

I presume you tried via the over the air update. If so, that message means that Verizon's temporarily removed it and/or their over the air update servers are off line for some reason.
Nothing to worry about. Perhaps they are about to release the 5.1 update.

Yes i did. If the update was pulled wouldn't it say your device is up to date? I also noticed i forgot to mention that im using crickets service on my device. Would that matter?

Yes it would.....Cricket is not Verizon thus you can't access their servers to get the update.
