Did anyone have any succes in running PSX-ROMS on galaxy 3?
Please list the name of the game that worked.

Every game work at SG3.
At Driver2 I reach even 50FPS! But the problem is in slow-motion. Games run 5 times slower than normal(you can see that, in games with some timers eg. Gran Turismo)
I mailed a developer of this app, and if he replies to me, I will post it here

It didnt work on my phone
I tried run a PSX-ROM on my g3 but whenever I selected a ROM the screen turned black and then came back to the select ROM menu. From where did you download the ROM. I games I tried were Resident evil 2& crash bandicoot 2 they worked with an emulator on pc.

KH-BBS -> BlackScreen
FF7-Crisis Core -> BlackScreen
Bloody Roar II -> SLOOWW
Batman Forever -> SLOOOWW

Crash bandicoot 1,2,3 - 10 FPS, for PAL minimally 50 required to play smoothly.

Ah, I forgot... PSX4Droid on SG3 works only at 2.2

[Q] What's the best PlayStation emulator for Play [and how to set it up]?

Hello could someone please tell me the best PSX emulator for the Xperia Play and give detailed instructions on setting it up so that it runs smoothly? I have tried one, FPse, but the sound does not work properly. psx4droid doesn't work at all [the latest version 3.0.6,] it just keeps asking me to force close when I try to load a rom. Please give the name of the emulator and the version and how to set it up for the Xperia Play.

the best emulator so far is FPSe, check on the Apps & Themes section, there is a sticky with all playable roms.

Mine works perfect. No sound or framerate choppiness at all.

How did you set up FPse ? Mine has poor sound, it doesn't seem to be playing all the sound only some parts.

Solved the sound issues. So in FPse i went into "system" and unchecked Mdec Acceleration, Gte Acceleration and HLE mode. Now I hear all the audio though at some points the audio slows down a bit.

Country - USA (i live in the UK though but i d/l USA games. This might make a difference to smoothness as the timing of the games is 50 mhz or 60 mhz and could account for some choppy sound)
Mdec - On
Gte - On
Fast Booting - On
HLE - Off
Boost Mode - Off
No Sound - Off
Spu Sync - Off
Framelimiter - On
Frameskip - None
Screen Filtering - Off
Screensize - Full Screen
Fast Overlay - Off
Screen Orientation - Landscape (turning off auto in theory could speed emulation up)
Print fps - Off
Invert colors - Off
Some games didnt work very well. Tony Hawks 2 had very glitchy graphical errors (or might of been THPS 1, cant remember), and Colin Mcrae 2 grinded to a halt.
Here is what i have tried though -
Time Crisis (touch screen as light gun, dam awesome)
Demolition Derby
Rampage Universal Tour
Point Blank (touch screen as light gun, dam awesome)
Strider 2
Die Hard Trilogy
All of them run flawlessly. No graphical glitched. Now sound stuttering. (and i mean none at all, not even a tiny hiccup).
I have rooted my phone, taken away lots of bloatware. Maybe this helps, maybe not.
N64 emulator sound skips for me alot. fpse none though.

Hey man mine is rooted also, you said you took off bloatware, could you go into detail? I want to take off stuff but I do not want to "brick" the phone because I don't know how I would get it back working.

Man I don't think it's actually possible to get this damn emulator playing the sound properly, it keeps slowing down messing up the sounds. sucks man.

But does the phone need to be rooted to work with emulators - to eventually play psx games ?
and what is the actualy process on loading these old school games to the xperia play?
Especially looking forward to colin mcrae..

No.
No root is needed for emu. In phone .it is just a normal app..

No you don't need to be rooted.
If you're looking to use FPSe, here's how to get playing your games:
1.) Buy and install FPSe.
2.) Open up the app and it will ask you to load a BIOS. Google is your one and only friend when searching for the PSX BIOS.
3.) After that, you can load your game. So rip your own .iso from games you own. Or again, Google is your friend for this.
4.) Then you can load the game and stay playing.
You might have to change a few settings to get the game and emulator performing better, that's basically trial and error.

[Q] Samurai vengeance 2

I tried to make this game work on my ideos x5 but it just wont work. It only works at the start when i begin the carrer then when i save and quit and then go back it has some errors ( You cant se the inviroment or you cant see the people).
Did somebody solved this problem ?
I tryed diffrent versions of the game and i was playing with chainfire 3d but it just wont work.

I had this problem and found a fix for the texture issues:
When you are in the game, press the Home button and then go back into the game and the textures should be fixed:

I'm playing it without any problems. I have edited the build.prop file to enable gameloft games (google it) and I have chainfire3d pro from market installed to be able to play nvidia tegra based games. I don't know what that have enabled me to play it but these are the only two things I have done to enable more and better gaming. Hope this helps m8.

Weird. I don't need to edit build.prop and I don't need to install Chainfire3d to make the game work. It works by itself. After install complete, just play the game. Finished it two days ago without any problem.

[TRICK]Partially fix auto die in Temple Run and get humongous coins

Hello guys....
As we all know that the famous Temple Run has been ported to run on our X8 pretty smooth..
But the most annoying part of of the game is the autodie bug that creps in..
So i am here with a Trick to help minimize auto die bug and get 1000000000 (might be one 0 more or less) coins.:cyclops:
So enough of talking.. Lets get started.
First of all download Temple Run from here
Now download an app called Temple Run patcher app from here
Now open this app and click on "Apply patch"
(NOTE:-You must play the game at least once before applying the patch or else it will show an error like some missing java files)
Now after you have applied the patch, open the game and go to store and buy
the resurrection wings and mega boost.
Now start the game and click on the mega boost option.
(clicking this you will boost 2500 meters ahead of the game)
After this double tap on the screen and you will have the resurrection wings on an if you die, you will respawn and hence no tension of auto die till your first death..
So thats it...

BlitzBrigrade Optimization

If you havent already known theres a game called
"BlitzBrigrade"
and well its a clone of TF2 But for Mobile, Amazing!
Many Users on the Xperia Play say that the Game has Bad FPS and is Unplayable because the game has bad Optimization for the Play
Well im here to fix that, because i wont let all of you Die Hard fans play with that Ghetto Touch Screen!
So here is my Guide:
1.) Put the Graphics on Low, Go into the game settings and Video and set it to Performance and exit the Game, not only will this save battery, but it will increase performance!
2.) Freeze most Apps that run in the Background; Here is a great guide!
Why?
BlitzBrigrade isnt a Cpu Game, its more of a Ram game, so in this case its better to allow the game to eat up ram and let it "Roam"
3.) Download and Flash: Adrenaline Boost
Now download and install Terminal Emulator and type :
--1.) su
--2.) boost
Then wait till everything stops moving and Press Menu>Close
Alternatively Run the Flush Command in the SuperCharger V6 Script (If u have it)
5.) Start up the game in XP Mode(Gamepad open) And leave the phone idle with the process running for about 3-5 Minutes (Set Screen Dim to 5 mins) This allows the app to Start Building Dalvik Cache ( Do this Straight after Step 3)
6.) Now The Last tip is to Always keep ur thumb on the Left touchpad and try to remove ur finger from the right one as LITTLE as Possible, This is just something i found out due to Weeks of experience and Testing

Nice Tips, but in here, the game performance is perfect! I thought that already well optimized.

the only problem on this game is the touchpad . sometimes one of the touchpad not giving response . you can't move+camera at same times .

Yes i used to Get that ALL the time and it was annoying, but the 6th tip is to Keep ur finger on the left one so it dosent do that,it does it cus of Direct input getting mixed up and then shuts one down,or something like that...

Same,Im on Atomic GB and its buttery smooth without any of this, im not joking,but all i have is Adreno Booster 2.0 (performance edition) and i use the boost script before i play ANY game and everythings smooth and Blitz Brigrade can run on Optimal (or otherwise known as High)
