LG G2 Anti Virus - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys,
just wanna ask what kinda anti virus program u installed in ur LG G2 and why?
is there any program that is totally free and is it really necessary to install AV?

I never use any anti virus. If you are worried about data theft Just install apps from proper source and Read permissions.

I also don't use any AV. Just use trusted sources and apps.

Zoner mobile security.

You could always use Avast or Lookout. Just read the app permissions and don't download porn apps from the Play Store.

I use Common Sense 2015 Service Pack 4 with all updates

[Q] Touchstore Pro v2.0.2627

I was looking through my app manager today and found this app touchstore pro I never installed. I didn't know what it was so I uninstalled it. I'm wishing I took a screenshot of it now because I can't find out any information on this app on google or anywhere. Has anyone here ever found something like this on their phone?
Did you install Avast antivirus and enable anti theft by chance?

If your device is rooted, why you just uninstall all this bloatware (or just disable it,like the 3 rd post). With greenify, you can not stop a system application (like Watch on)

I use Gemini App manager to configure the autorun of each app.
It means you can keep the app installed and enabled but the app will only run on user allowed conditions.

Exactly, just delete the APKs you don't use from
Code:
/system/app
.

I would recommend you Avast. In my opinion it's the greatest one, easy to use, high protection and some cool features.

antivirus apps on android are pointless. the only good that a few do is help find the phone if lost or stolen. but as an antivirus they are useless.

Since you can locate your phone through your Google account now....antivirus is even more useless on android! Although Adaway is a MUST have

Ok thanks

Install Google Play services (automatically when log into Google Play Store), enable Verify Apps in Google Settings (automatically enabled), don't sideload apks, disable USB debugging, keep the bootloader locked, encrypt the phone storage, If needed use AFWall+ and LBE Security Master.

Any need for anti virus?

First time android user and I'm curious if there's a need for it...I am just exploring the apps and came across avg and figured you guys could help me out ha ha..thanks in advance!

Just be careful what and where you download apps and you should be fine. Also watch the permissions you allow for every app. For example a flashlight app doesn't need access to your contacts, storage or internet. These kind of apps you should stay away from.

No
Follow me: @Bash_Array
No. Ppl get viruses from installing apk from Internet from unknown users. App store is fine just some apps quality sucks. So as long as you stick to dl apps from playstore and you don't dl unknown stuff from unknown sources you'll be fine

There should be a list somewhere of all this pre-loaded bull**** so you can remove it without missing any.
Without root you can't install WA+.
Disabling WA ist maybe possible, but anyhow, you can't install WA+!
It's so unbelievable from Samsung.
I've written Samsung and complained about this. Also on Facebook. Public is always more effective. Maybe if more complaints come, possibly something happens
Facebook App ist also a System App and can't removed, or no old version can't be used.

Not sure what would actually be effective. People have complained about pre-installed apps on Android for, what, five years now? It's never done any good, and the hundreds of millions of additional Android users since back then clearly haven't made the complaints any more effective, either. The option of rooting is there, for people who want to completely have them removed from storage. Otherwise, disabling the apps gets rid of the icons and takes care of any performance hit. The actual size they take up is less than one half of 1% of device storage, so they're really not a big deal. It's just the psychological effect of knowing they're there. I've just learned to ignore it.
After coming from the Nexus 5 with its lack of expandable storage, I learned pretty quick that a couple megs for a stock app make a poor target for blame when I'm angry because I've got nowhere to put a 500+mb game I bought.
-Edit: On the other hand, when a preinstalled app makes it impossible to install another version of the same app from the store, it might go further to train yourself to treat that sort of thing like a bug. Report it to their technical support and act incredulous that they'd let such broken behavior into a production release. ;P
