I have searched the forums with no success.
Is there a way to remove the swipe effects when unlocking the phone (without having to use a pattern or password)
I really dont like any of them and the one i like (ripple) has some leaves on it.
INFO:
I am on stock rom rooted, custom recovery (TWRP). I had to remove xposed framework as it caused phone lag and home screen redraw and blank screen after phone calls.

Not sure if you have the know how but if the g2 lock screen is anything like the OG lock screen you could open the apk with something like 7zip, modify the leaf pngs transparent and replace them inside the apk.you would probably need a deodexed apk. Hope that helps you.

Stock would be odexed.
You can try and download a stock based ROM that says it is deodexed. Then work with the lock screen apk from there. Then copy it to /system/app and delete the odex file in there with the same name. Be sure to do a backup first.

Well I am 99.99999999999% sure I figured out what I did wrong. Somehow I managed to accidentally download Cyan's 4.0.2. I wouldn't have noticed it except I was double checking my radio. Lord I feel like a moron
I got my new phone in the mail today since my old G1 had a keyboard issue. I am able to root and load Cyan's 4.0.4 without a single hitch.
However, regardless if I wipe beforehand, afterward, both, or not at all, when I load Ted's Hero styled theme, I go through the wait of the G1 screen, then his animation... and then? BLACK... the screen is on... it's just displaying an endless world of black. (Sort of reminds me of staring at my ex's soul).
I have tried the above as well as the repair command (running Cyan's 1.4 recovery). I am running the latest radio etc etc etc.
WTH is going on here? I have tried searching for black screen etc and come up with 1,000 or so threads that have no relevance to my issue. So can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks so much!

Maybe a bad download? Does Ted post the MD5 of his files? If not any you have tried reflashing rom and theme then you have a odd problem. Double check and make sure you have the right rom build # and theme for that build # (since his roms change soo often). Other then that I'm not sure. You don't need to wipe though, you just flash the rom and let it load up for initial setup then reboot into recovery and flash the theme. Only wiping would be BEFORE you flash the ROM.
PS
Now running the EngBootloader V2 (thought maybe THAT was it).
Edit again... now running hard-spl. Still no dice. What the heck am I missing here?
Hey its all good we make mistakes. Glad I could help.
Yeah thanks man
Not sure how I did it. I just looked at the thread again and there isn't even a link to what I had. It goes from a download link to 3.6.8.1 to 4.0.4.
NO IDEA lol
Hiya All! most people like to know how to change their splash screen because they want to change it to something else.
as daft as this sounds i would really like to be-able to take the G3MOD splash screen and use it as my phones wallpaper
it just looks so good booting up since i have a silver galaxy and the exact same red phone cover as in the image!
but i have no clue where it is stored on my phone, i know where bootanimation.zip is stored but i can't figure
out where or how to get to the boot splash screen using root explorer
can anyone help me with this? also if it's a special file can you tell me how to convert it back to bmp thank you!

If I remember correctly I think the splash screen image is inside the kernel I think, as I remember someone asked about it in another thread.

I remember this too, but that was pretty long ago, should still apply though. So unless you know how to mess with the kernel, I suggest you don't try to change the splash screen.

As they said above, the file isn't in the system since it's in the kernel so unfortunately it's not that simple. Maybe you can find out who made it and then ask them for the image file?
no worries was hoping someone who made the kernel would pick up on this post and hopefully PM me with a link to the splash.
see i don't know if it's the original G3MOD kernel it's crylo ROM but it says the kernel is 2.6 i only see GMOD 2.4 so it might of been a custom thing.
never know someone who made it might see this thread,

The version of the kernel made by android itself is 2.6... blah blah but the latest version of G3MOD is 2.5 and the splash screen was made by one of the G3MOD developers. It wasn't made by Kyrillos.

I own the Sprint LG LS980. I bought it 2 weeks ago, and Unlocked it following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655133 and then changing the build.prop to:
ro.build.target_operator=spr
ro.carrier=spr
persist.service.crash.enable=1
This has let me use the Sprint LG G2 on AT&T for 2 weeks.
The only caveats I found were:
-LTE doesn't work
-Had to set my apn using Tweakker https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweakker
-Wifi right after boot wouldn't turn on (has happened twice in 2 weeks) Reset to fix.
-Ugly GSM with a circle around it logo instead of H+ or LTE or H (found a link stating to erase the value and leave blank in my ro.build.targer_operator, and it changed the logo to "H" but it started crashing all the time. I changed it back to spr)
On 4.4.2 stock rooted rom
Everything has been working great until all of a sudden my phone will be working until it times out or I use knock on to turn the screen off. The screen turns off, but when I try to turn the screen on, there are horizontal lines all over. The touch screen still works though. I have to hard reset it, and then my screen works fine again until I turn the screen off again. Same issue. Same result when I reboot.
I took a video. http://youtu.be/3Erj3ETbECo
Also, something weird. I flashed a stock based rom (Cloudy) and it shows the same behavior in the video. I then flashed AOKP and it works perfectly. I can turn the screen off and on.
Is there something someone knows how I can get my stock rom working? Should I just try and go back to stock using whatever TOT is? Thanks for your help.
You have to flash Cloudyfa's fix for our phones. For some reason we have to have the stock kernel or we are going to get the lines bug. That also means we will lose recovery though.. It fixed it for me though. How did you unlock your phone exaclty? I tried to change my apn to tmobile on a 4.4 lg rom (cloudyflex) but it kept crashing my systemui

You have to follow the original link I posted. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655133 Download the rar file in the OP, and copy the \carrier folder to your phone. Use root explorer on your phone to make a backup of the /carrier folder and then delete it. Copy your new carrier folder to the phone.
Next I had to modify my build prop to the following.
ro.build.target_operator=spr
ro.carrier=spr
persist.service.crash.enable=1
Then I had to set my apn using Tweakker https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweakker.

Can you provide a link for Cloudyfa's fix?
From Cloudyfa: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51974589&postcount=281
For those having issue with white lines (mostly LS980) and losing Knock On (F320) after using 21o/21p org kernel. This is a temporary solution for you:
1. Use AutoRec to have custom recovery (TWRP).
2. Install the ROM you want.
3. You will now having white lines/Knock On lost issue. Just leave it.
3. Setting up all your app/mod.
4. Install my BootStack package here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=13798
5. When you wanna change to another ROM, repeat all above steps.
There's no other way for you now as you must use the org kernel from LG, no patched or moded kernel working. Maybe we can fix this issue with later LG kernel source. Anyway, using the this temporary solution still can help you to change to any custom ROM (which support your variant) you want, not stuck with stock ROM anymore (and wasting time flashing zvc (LS980) or 21o/21p (F320) all the time)

It's not supposed to work for US carriers but I followed your method using the cloudystock 2.0 rom and it's working fine on T-Mobile(US). Strange, so far so good though. Before if i would change my apn to Tmobile, it would make the phone keep crashing SystemUi making it unusable but its good with the method you listed, thanks a lot!

ur help in urgently needed
Hi, I have created this thread to discuss Xposed related things for LG G3. The old thread was closed for reasons that are unknown to me.
We know that some LG apps crash with Xposed installed and that it can be partially fixed by using ported apps from LG G4
Apps that cause crashes:
LG Weather
LG Cover
LG EasyHome
Also the SmartNotice feature does not work (LG Home feature)
Could you confirm that the EasyHome does not work, too?
why closing old thread without explanation?
If you to look at the old thread it looks like they were testing a method of having xposed work with the encrypted files we usually have to remove. Looks like it was successful but why it would be closed for no reason and no description for everyone else to follow afterwards doesn't make sense.
It was closed because xposed has been fixed for the G3 so there's no need for it any longer. But now i don't have the quick cover or smart weather apk's and stuff. Was hoping to find them here.....maybe a flashable zip to add them back?

Today I tried the latest version from rovo89 and it really works with the standard lg apps! Great! Thank you rovo89!
I can't confirm that the LG Cover works too, though.
zxaz: I have no problem with accessing the tethering from settings
hey @rovo89 can you have a look at this? i have LG G2 Mini D620r with lollipop 5.0.2. i installed latest v69 framework but Smartcover and Weather still FC. I cleared dalvik and cache. However, LG file manager works now (on earlier versions it FC). I uploaded:
/system/priv-app/LGCover
/system/app/LGWeather
/system/app/LGWeatherService
/system/lib/liblgalmond.so
/system/build.prop
I couldn't get logs because of reboots and FCs. If you need something else, I am happy to upload it.
Thanks for your amazing work.

Please try it with "adb logcat -v time > logcat.txt" then. Without the logs, the chances that I can help you are rather small. It's best clear the Dalvik cache, then reboot the device and immediately execute the adb command.

You just need to hold down the quick tile for each. So, pull down the notification shade, then hold down the mobile data icon and it will take you to network, same for tethering. You may have to add the tiles if they're not already there through the settings.
thank you hochoch...:good: at least i can go in the network/tethering without a third party.....everything is ok now
Hi all do this work on D855 g3 ?..is it working ?

I didn't update to Lollipop because Xposed wouldn't work with smartcover / smartcircle
So can anyone tell me if it's working now? I mean I can turn on / off the screen without touching the power button by flipping the cover?
Thanks guys

Yes... Fully working now. No need to remove skartcover or removing weather.
Can someone do a quick walkthrough of how to get xposed 69 installed if I already have xposed (old one) on my stock lollipop D852.

Hi
It is not difficult, assuming that you already have your phone rooted and twrp installed.
Download the xposed framework ARM v70 zip and the installer apk from the official thread.
Boot into recovery install the zip.
Reboot and install the apk.
Open the apk and download the modules you like, enable them and reboot.
Enjoy
Thank you! Will I lose my old modules though? Just so that I back them up just in case.
For my LG G3 D855 do i need the x64 or the x86 zip file from the official thread?? or the one with no number after it?? Thanks

I am getting settings crash when i try to open tethering and connectivity from settings.. i am using v71.. is anyone getting the same issue ?
Hey people, I really need some assistance understanding the process of modding my phone. I did a root, rom, and kernel on a galaxy s2, but everything felt simpler back then. I've been looking at threads for hours and still have no idea where to start. I want my phone to perform (react) the best that it can while having the best battery life possible too. That being said, I still want it to be kind of a normal phone that I can install all the normal apps on. What's the best combination of installations to make that happen, and what order do I need to do it all in? I'm terrible at making decisions so I prefer if you narrow stuff down to "the best" selection in your mind. If need be, provide an alternate and explain why to choose one over the other please.
Update: I've rooted, installed twrp, arter97 kernel and supersu. Now I just need help finding/picking a good ROM right? Help please?
I'm currently using audax V12 rom and his own kernel.
I love this rom
Uh oh, something is wrong. I installed audax and I thought everthing was going smoothly until I started getting calls. I can't hear them and they can't hear me. Whats the most likely place that i ****ed up to make this happen. My phone mic must be working because I can say "OK Google" From a quick glance at search results, it appears the kernel is probably the cause.
Should I be using this Audax: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/development/rom-audax-plus-v1-0-t3219017
Or this Audax: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6-edge-plus/development/rom-audax-plus-3-0-m-featured-g928t-t3363901
Will I need to wipe the phone again to fix this kernel issue? or can you just install a kernel over a kernel?
I did find this while searching, but it makes not a wink of sense:
"Anyway, you need a file manager to change sth in /system directory(Root explorer, es file explorer, etc etc). Please try to find mixer_paths.xml from your old rom. If you have got a stock or custom rom for S variant, this file is in /system/etc Copy it to your device and paste into /system/etc.. 'Overwrite', then change the permissions of 'mixer_paths.xml' as rw- r- r- Check it to be sure. Then reboot. And call someone to see if that fixes or not "

I also found this post that someone claimed fixes the no audio call issue, but I'm not sure I understand the instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67957026&postcount=58
EDIT: The last link there fixed it, I missed the part about extracting a zip out of the zip, then installing that one.
Try RootJunkys extralite MM version, that is what i used for a stock, currently on CM13, if i go back to stock i plan to just keep it stock, no need to root these ones if you can't manage to AOSP it.
