Hi all,
my girlfriend has my old N7100 with SwiftROM 4.1.2, now she wants to update to 4.3.
I heard of all the issues on WiFi etc.. but i don't know if this only happens maintaining old bootloader; I don't need this, i just want to have a N7100 pure stock so if my bootloader is updated i don't care.
My question is: can i flash the new Stock ROM MK9 with Odin updating the bootloader without having trouble with WiFi or EFS?
Thanks in advance,
Daniele.

I updated once from CM 10.3 to stock 4.3 and had no issues.
The only annoying thing is that WiFi notification shows up all the time.

hello all,
I recently went back to the stock touchwiz rom from a custom rom, & received some updates that changed my baseband to mh8.
So ive been doing some research that leads me to believe that its not possible to flash to a custom rom after the update.
So i would would like to ask if it is possible to flash a custom rom or not?
& also ive found chainsfire auto root file which i know can root MH8. But still i dont want to risk it.
Ive got a S4 LTE locked on 02 uk
Thank You
Hi,
just wanted to ask whether there is any benefit in upgrading the bootloader each time you upgrade your firmware with Mobile Odin Pro. I am presently on the latest GNG1 for N9005 but my bootloader is still NB7. So far I have not encountered any issues because of that. Simply wanted to know if I gain anything if I upgrade my bootloader to NG1 now. Thanks in advance.
I am on NB3, have tried dozens of roms, TW and AOSP, and had no problems.
heya Guys,
i have an S4 and i kinda messed up the moden, because wifi istnt working (I tried to flash the mf9 update, didnt realize i was on 4.2.2 und flashed back to MDC which is now working, exept wifi)
i tried to update via Kies but it doesnt connect to my S4. it says connecting for like an hour.
i am donwloading the 4.4.2 STOCK Full firmware (Its bout 1.5 GB Big and i dont think its an OTA-Update)
my questin is, can i flash the 4.4.2 Firmware just over the 4.2.2 with odin?
or must i get the 4.3 update to get it running?
and i read something about flashing back the Stock Recovery and unroot the Device before updating is this true?
Thanks in Advance Bros, hope you can help me.
Just flash.

will i lose any data?
and what about the stock recovery?
thanks for your help
My Recommendation for you in this case
Go to 4.3.
4.4.2 is Very Buggy and will mess up your phone!
Hey Everyone!!
Thank you for looking at this thread.
In a nutshell, I got my i9505 galaxy s4 since June 2013, rooted it straight away when i got it, its got twrp recovery, and im on omega v9 4.2.2. Havent touched it since to date
It does not have knox.
Is there a way I can simply upgrade to something like cm 12.1 with 5.1.1 with everything working, by simply flashing latest cm with gapps using twrp, or will I have to upgrade bootloader, radio, get knox, or even just start over, flash stock samsung lollipop firmware with knox using odin, in order to do so?
I already a while back tried updating twrp to latest, and tried flashing cm with lollipop 5.0 when it first first came out, but only 2g was working, and signal would cut if i lock my phone. Im guessing this is due to bootloader/radio incompatibility, or maybe because it was early builds? Apparently i cant flash lollipop bootloader and radio over old 4.2.2 stuff without consequently installing knox? Is knox that bad? I heard its better to not have knox but if its the only thing stopping from lollipop then so be it.
Any help and advice much appreciated.
Hope to hear soon,
DJ
You can try upgrading just the modem to be able to flash an Android 5.x ROM, but it likely will not work and thus you will have to flash an updated bootloader as well. The good news is that since your S4 is out of warranty, whether you trip the Knox flag or not will not matter.
You should be able to flash the updated bootloader and radio without having to install an entire ROM, though you might want to download the latest ROM for your S4 anyway. There is a thread in I9505 General that has a list of bootloaders and modems that can be downloaded and flashed through Odin. From there, you should have no problem flashing the custom ROM of your choice through recovery.
I have an s4 GT9505 with stock kitkat 4.4.2 BTU rooted.
i have an issue with the vpn working for a short while 1-2min then timing out and nothing loading. im using vpn root.
i have found that it appears to be a common issue in 4.4.2
is there a fix for this?
or do i need to flash to lollipop 5.0.1
if i flash to lollipop do i need to upgrade modem and boot loader? (seen it in one of the roms posts)
im happy enough with the stock rom can i root lollipop?
or is there a good rom without too many issues? it was too hard to workout a rom so went stock last time. and on my older phone the custom roms always had issues with something.
any links on what i have to do as a refresher to flash/ root etc?
