Camera module replacement

Hello i own laser zenfone 2 laser ZE500KL , here in italy it is sold with a 8 mpx camera while the same model in spain and guess in the rest of the world with a 13 mpx camera. I have seen website www.asusparts.eu sells the 13 mpx camera module and it says it is compatible with my model. Do you think i could just replace my 8 mpx with this 13 mpx one or it will not work?
I don't think it will work. It's not just hardware, but software too.

Redmi note 5 pro camera port for mi a1

Hi,
I actually saw some reviews of the latest REDMI NOTE 5 PRO . It also comes with a rear dual camera setup (12 MP + 5 MP) and a 20 MP front camera. It has EIS enabled when shooting videos with the rear camera (Something that still lacks in MI A1) . It also has portrait mode in the front camera (Also absent in Mi A1).
So, can anyone bring that camera bring that camera apk or something like that.
I know there are many Google camera threads present for this device but they require root. which i dont wanna do to my device .
Sorry, if i am posting this thread in wrong section.

5 MP Back = [GalaxyCore] gc5025
16 MP Front = [OmniVision] ov16880
Most probably root is must for checking these informations. You can try "Device Info HW" app.
Thanks

I've not rooted the phone so I can't see the info, but I doubt whether the front camera is ov16880...
From Google, we can see the other phones which uses ov16880 module as back camera can even support 4K video and the result is much better than the one in front camera of Max Pro M1 6GB.

Because it also depends on SoC. I'm attaching a screenshot to show you that I didn't give wrong information.
By the way, latest GCam mod by Arnova8G2 added 4K video recording support on front camera.

Okay...
How about the focus mode? How come the sensor is capable of more focus modes, but it only has fixed focus as front camera here?
Btw, I can't take photo without turning on HDR or HDR+ with this gcam...

You're wrong in both cases.
Check the last line of the screenshot. It says fixed focus for front cam. The focus modes written in the middle is for back cam. Both are described in the screenshot.
And second, yes, I can take photos without turning HDR or HDR+ on.

Of course I know the fixed focus is for front cam. I'm just asking why the same sensor in other phones can have many focus modes while it only has fixed focus as front camera here.
Because in my old phone I can tap to focus using front cam, and now when I tap the focus is still fixed. I can focus on specific object in front cam of old phone but not for in max pro m1. When I am close to the camera enough the things in back is naturally blur in viewfinder, not fake one synthesized by alogrithm. It was a phone made in 2015.
Can you take photos for both front and back cams without turning HDR or HDR+ on using this gcam?
Are you using custom rom? I'm 6GB variant phone on stock Oreo. Thanks.
Just for curious hows Gcam on 6gb vs 4gb.???
( As i know 6gb have better camera capacity than 4 gb )

The cameras of the 3GB/4GB variants are disasters.
The sensors of 6GB variant are good overall but a bit weak in low light in some cases. This can be solved using gcam when you takes photos.

I have received the 6GB ZB602KL (ASUS_X00TD) global version from Gearbest but the front camera is 8MP instead of 16MP, which region version did I receive and which region has the 16MP front on the 6GB version?

As far I know, ZB601KL has 16 MP front camera on 6 GB variant, which is probably for Indian & Indonesian markets only.
On the other hand, International variant has 8 MP front cam. But this model also has NFC, which is not available in 601KL variant.

It's the same apk I've installed.
Check if camera2api / HAL3 is enabled on your device.

May be unable to install the app because it conflicts with an already installed app with same package name i.e. System Camera app .
Have you uninstalled system camera app?

Unpack the apk.
Change package name in AndroidManifest.xml.
Repack.
Now uninstall the previous one, and install the one you just repacked.

is there a separate thread for Redmi note 7 SD660 with 48 MP camera

I've been googling all over for redmin note 7 snapdragon 660 with 48MP which means middle east version comes with note 7 pro features but with SD660 so I'm confused to follow note 7 thread or note 7 pro thread
All Redmi Note 7 models except the Indian one come with the Samsung GM1 48 megapixel sensor. The Pro comes with a Sony 48 MP sensor which is reportedly better.

There are 3 different phones with confusingly similar names.
Redmi 7
Redmi Note 7
Redmi Note 7 Pro
This forum is for the Redmi Note 7. Both the Indian variant with the 12 mp camera and the Global variant with the 48 mp sensor that outputs 12 mp. There are other forums for the other phones.

48-MP-Camera or not?

While all descriptions (including those at Gearbest, where I bought the phone) of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 speak of a 48 megapixel and a 5 MP camera, all system info apps show me that my phone has one camera with 13.2 MP and the other with 12 MP. My Redmi Note 7 is the Global version. Have I got something wrong?

The sensor mounted on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is the combination of four small pixels to obtain a larger pixel size. Specifically, CU 1.6 starting from CU 0.8.
The sensor included in the ultra-cheap phone is a Samsung ISOCELL S5KGM1. It has Tetracell technology, a technology that combines 4 adjacent pixels to work as a single pixel of larger size, thx to the Snapdragon 660 may be able to process the captured images generating a 48-MP photo.
If you want to take photos in this mode, in Miui you have the option of 48MP in the camera app.
