Have you unchecked the 'Secure' box in the update menu? If no, it won't work.

I would really like and appreciate if someone could make a .zip file with CRT screen off effect for KQ7. I know there are other ways to do it, but I would really like if it could be done this way, and I know that others would appreciate it too.

No, you can't It's a change in framework-res.apk, will make a file with stock framework and CRT-off effect when I'm at home in ~1 hour =)

You have to set <bool name="config_animateScreenLights">true</bool> in framework-res.apk/res/values/bools.xml to false.

I read the hole changelog but there is nothing written about loop device support. Did you try to set up a linux distro ?

It enables App ops so you'd be able to use an app from the playstore to be able to access it, the only way I think to actually get it under the security settings is to follow his guide. If you are using a deodexed (odex too but you have to odex the apk) Rom however you can simply copy the settings apk and replace it with the original one, change permissions, reboot, and boom there you go, that's one way.

Clever answer... the whole POINT of asking in a forum is to benefit from other users experiences to avoid unneccessary damages/errors before making them myself.
I don´t have the OTA yet on my N5, so I can´t even try myself ...
FYI, the flashable zip didn't work for me. I'll try the DIY method soon...

OK, finally got the 4.4.3 Update on my Nexus 5, reflashed the ZIP in the OP with Flashify, worked like a charm, APP OPS is back online again
So I can confirm the MOD also works with 4.4.3 KTU84M !

phone is samsung s4 lte I9505XXUEMKF and is root. has "super user" and "pimp my rom"

It looks like you have used Pimp My Rom to change the display density. Try changing it back to the default (480).

Wipe the phone, then reflash ROM. Although I have no idea how deeply the Pimp messed with your phone, you have a good chances for success.
And just small advice for the future: any girl met on the street by night will telly that asking pimps for help sucks.

Before you flash a rom you could use a build prop editor to chance lcd.density to default value. It is less work

Myhm... for the person who asks where to find the stock?? Are you kidding?
Its editing one simple line in the build prop. Flashing a Rom is harder than changing a value, save and restart. But yeah. Flashing a stock rom may be the better solution to remove all of this mod, you are right.
