Will there be any Roms for Xperia Z with 2nd-init for locked Bootloaders. There is already CM with 2nd-init for Xperia SP.

This would be fantastic news!!

We don't know. Didn't they just now get it working on the SP? Give some of the devs here chance to look at what was done and I'm sure they'll publish their work soon enough if it's possible on our device.

Bad that i selled my SP. On my Defy+ i used 2nd-init too because you weren't able to unlock the BL.

This question was already asked before in z forums by me and i am from the Moto defy forums too!
The thing is that they said it takes a lot of time and effort to do 2nd init for Z.
I would be thrilled if this came about, I also jumped from a defy.

I think that was when people were looking at using kexec to load another kernel. The method for the SP hijacks the ramdisk from what I'm reading, so it may be possible.
It all depends if any devs are interested in adapting it for our device or not. That may not be the case, as most of them probably already unlocked their bootloader.
We'll have to see.

Really looking forward to further development on this!

But the Dev's can relock their Bootloaders again. I hope someone can do it. Because I want Cyanogenmod for my Z without unlocking the BL.
Gesendet von meinem C6603 mit Tapatalk
Yes, I know they can relock their bootloader. I just meant that the motivation might not be there, as the majority of our device are unlockable. Only a few carrier branded devices are not.
Anyway, it would be good to see it happen if possible.

But there are some dev's who don't want to lost their warranty.

I'm not sure why you're trying to convince me here. I already said more than once that it would be good if this gets ported for our device.
Also, I'm not sure that warranty is a huge concern for people compiling experimental software from source and flashing it to their device.
Even if it is, backing up the TA partition before unlocking the bootloader and restoring it if the phone needs to go for repair ensures that warranty is intact.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
I do not think that it is constructive to find ways on how not to do such a thing, but better to convince the devs to perform the 2nd-init as soon as possible on the Xperia Z.
Is there some sort of language or intellectual barrier happening here?
I'm not trying to find ways not to do it or convince anyone not to do it or that it shouldn't be done.
Clear enough? I'm simply saying that there may not be interest in someone putting their spare time in to porting this, especially if they don't need it for themselves and it's only useful for a minority of people that have non unlockable bootloaders.
If someone does pick it up and get it working, then great. All development is useful and appreciated.

What the Hell, no Official CM10.2 for the Tilapia?
Custom 4.3 Roms, just 1-2 nice. The Tilapia is more expensive, but the Grouper/ the better supported Device

Not yet. There's taktiK B4, but I believe it still has the black box issue, besides that everything seems to be working.

Or you can just go with the CM11 releases which are updated a bit more often and the developer actually communicates what he's doing...

Hi!
So the Htc One M8 is out. After looking at some videos i must say the soft is pretty amazing. The new unlocking features, the settings menu, etc. Do you think its possible to port the rom with all the apps and configs to a i9505? And if so do you know if some devs have it in plans?
thx!
Might be possible but will most likely never happen. Too much work needed, different hardware etc
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9505 mit Tapatalk
So sense 6 will never be ported... ? Little sad. And what about apk? Is there anyone who uploaded some m8 apps?
Not yet. But they can be found sooner or later in the Themes & Apps section of this forum

CM 11 is highly outdated. We are already on CM 12.1 so no, you shouldn't flash CM 11.

@Lennyz1988: If he knew a hundred times more stuff than I, as he claims here, then he would already know Cyanogenmod 11 is no longer state of the art. So since he claimed to know so much, he should be able to find his answers without having to ask for help.

Idc about ban [emoji14] and I know better than you because I HAVE THE KEY FOR RESETING KNOX COUNTER SO EASY BUT You are assholes SO no chance
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9505 mit Tapatalk
I'm curious if going from stock Lollipop 5.0.1 to CM 12 works out alright for folks. I tried it recently. Everything was working except cellular service. Was getting messages like "no sim card - no service" and "cellular network unavailable". Interestingly enough, network data (internet) worked fine. Ended up wiping everything and going back to stock 5.0.1. This was all on a Sprint S4 GTi9505 (jfltexx).
@SheepGolden: You say you have this miracle tool that can reset the Knox counter, even though Samsung themselves have said it can't be done, and yet you're here asking for help on how to install Cyanogenmod?
You're lying, both about this miracle tool and how much you know. The miracle tool does not exist because Samsung themselves said the Knox flag cannot be reset, and you don't know s#!^, because otherwise you wouldn't be here asking how to do the simple things. If you can't back up the things you say with facts, don't say them. It's really that simple.
Is it still possible when Android N is released to build for the XZ a nougat Rome ?? Or just the XZ no longer. It is already more than 3 years old now and has many Android survived versions. Some developers here have indeed managed MM bring to the XZ for everyday life. Whether Android N is still possible would be interesting.
Gesendet von meinem Xperia Z mit Tapatalk
I think its possible through cyanogen and aosp, but it will surely take a lot of time to develop such a rom...
Nexus 5 and even Xperia M got first builds of Nougat (of course not stable for daily use) but it's darmn impressive.
There is hope for Xperia Z and it will require a lot of polishing (like removing Vulkan API).
Nexus 5 have now "stable" N rom
It's possible, the milestone for XZ was Marshmallow. With working Marshmallow it'd be easier to boot Nougat (N5 needed 10-15 patches for M device tree to make it bootable)
On Areamobile i have read a Modder has Port N on Nexus 4 with the same SoC. Lets Do it!!!!
