All sensors stop working - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
After upgrading to KitKat and a custom ROM I have been having multiple issues with sensors. I have factory reset several times and clean flashed a few different ROMs but with the same result. The sensors do initially work but then just suddenly stop for no apparent reason.
I have also restored from my efs backup but this has not helped.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers

Any help, please?

I would suggest going back to pure stock 4.2.2 off samimobile first the full reset from Samsung recovery and wipe. You don't mention which custom roms ? Try that first though... Let me know !!

Full wipe your phone in recovery System, firmware,... Etc then reboot directly from CWM recovery in advance settings to download(odin mod) and flash the stock ROM.
make sure you back up everything.
Hope it helps

Hi,
Did as both of you suggested but the problem still occurs. This is on X-note but also occurred on Omega. At a bit of a loss here as reverting to stock doesn't seem to help. I flashed the UK 02 rom as EE have not released 4.4.2 yet.
Any further suggestions?
Cheers

Problems even after re-installing the firmware! [Note 2 N7100]

First of all i used CWM to root my phone flashed via odin. Then i accidently installed chainfire 3d's driver, it wasn't booting and was freezed so i re-installed the firmware. now everything works fine except the LED notifications, only when i restart it, the LED turns blue. doesn't lit up even while charging/missed calls etc. and alarm sound isn't working either (quiet odd), while call and other sound based notifications works perfectly fine!!
I searched and searched, but none has problems similar to me. Please suggest me to try something that'll work besides re-installing the firmware again. not sure if custom kernel will do or not :'(
btw i rooted it again with CWM, hoping i'd work, because it allows custom led lights to work, but it didn't.
Still no reply!

How did you reinstall firmware? Odin or cwm? Try odin and flash tar firmware. Copy first your data from mobile because this operation will wipe everything

*#0*# on your key pad and use the diagnostics.
The LED should flash 3 primary colours before ending.
If one of the colours isn't working, then it's a hardware issue.

That was interesting thanks, but no, no hardware problems. any possible way i can fix this without formatting and all? i'd be grateful.
have you tried getting back to stock entirely? i mean even get back to the stock recovery. plus factory reset.
and then if you still need root, you might wanna try the ExynosAbuse option, it's the cleanest.

no i haven't, when i installed the clean stock firmware (md5 file), i still had those issues. i shouldn't have installed chainfire 3d, i was too hasty, i didn't read it's official thread, which mentioned it's only for ICS. Thanks, next time i'll use that to root. Also will titanium backup be of any help?

[Q] What happened!? My phone unconfigured everything!!

Something strange happened today.
My N4 changed a lot of things with no reasons:
1) home button stopped working
2) no notifications at all on notification bar
3) when i hold power button only show "turn off" and no more the other options
What may be the cause of that?

I think i know what happened. This is a very strange bug but it happens once in a while.
Whenever you flash gapps or flash the stock rom your phone boots up into a setup mode which blocks alot of things and limits itself . Once your all done with the setup your phone then changes a file in the system or deletes it that keeps the phone from going into setup mode again. Your phone seems to be in this so called setup mode because the home button doesnt work, only power off option, and no notifications, this is the behavior of the setup. Your phone might have changed that file or replaced it.
I dont think a factory reset will help anything as its in the system, i might be wrong but you should try it first and if you cant get it to work then just flash stock again. This has happened to me a few times before and i have resolved it by just reflashing the stock rom. Im not sure what the cause is but i guess its just a random chance that you get this.
Also no you dont loose root if you factory reset.
That is a strange bug I've never heard of that you may be right but a factory reset should force him to go through set up again which could fix that. I didn't suggest re flashing since he stated he didn't have a custom recovery.

[Q] Rooted, CM 10.1, clean rom, now stuck...need help!

Hey, I could really use some guidance here. I'll present the information as simply as I can:
I bought a Galaxy s4 AT&T a few days ago. I've been interested in rooting and flashing different roms, but I think I may have done a bit too much.
I rooted using the motochopper method - great, worked like a charm.
I made a backup of my original rom using CWM. I even took that backup and saved a copy of it on my Mac - perfect.
I thought I'd try Cyanogenmod 10.1, so I downloaded the latest nightly build and flashed it using CWM - so far so good.
Everything was working fine, but my LTE (or any data) was not working at all. I could use Wifi, but once I turned wifi off, I had no data, no gps, no 3g, no 4g, no LTE. I tried the *#*#4636*#*# method, the LTEOnOff app, and changing my APN based on the recommendations provided in this thread - I just couldn't get it to work.
I thought I'd try restoring my original backup, but when I went into CWM to do so, it said that my backup could not be found...(I still have a backup on my computer, just in case)
I needed my phone to work, and badly needed LTE to do so. So, I downloaded this rom: [ROM] CleanROM 1.0 -★| Clean and Smooth! | The Way Nature Intended! |★-
So far, this rom was working fine - it's just a debloated version of TouchWiz - which I like. But, here's my problem now - If my phone reboots, it stays frozen on the Samsung logo (with unlocked lock logo underneath), and I can't get past it. I'd have to go BACK into recovery, and flash the CleanROM all over again, and set my phone up as new with all data wiped.
I really need my phone to work again, and I don't know where to go from here. What options do I have left? What can I do to get out of that frozen Samsung loading screen? Can't I just reset my phone to the way it was? Can't the CM10.1 rom work with LTE?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Your best option is to flash the stock MDB firmware via odin . After you get the PASS on Odin go ahead and manually boot into stock recovery and wipe data factory reset again then reboot. You will have to re root and reinstall recovery but this will take care of any issues you had from a bad flash.

Having the same issue so I figured I'd give these steps a shot. Followed them exactly and phone (AT&T S4, TWRP) would won't even reboot the first time into CleanROM. I'm stuck on the Samsung screen with the lock.
edit: I've noticed that now, when I reboot into TWRP, it prompts me for a password. Hitting cancel takes me to the regular home screen, but I had not been getting the password prompt before attempting to install CleanROM. A permissions issue, perhaps?
edit 2:
I've just spent some time trying a bunch of things with bits of good luck surrounded with tons of bad. Below are the steps I've taken to try to get CleanROM to boot (and reboot) without any issues. Hopefully they help figure out the issues we're having.
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Wipe /system
Flash CleanROM
Reboot
---- Failed
Reboot into Recovery
Prompted for password, hit cancel
Fix permissions
---- Failed
Reboot to recovery
Prompted for password, hit cancel
Format data (type yes)
Reboot
---- Successfully booted to CleanROM
Ran through phone / account setup
Saw home screen
Powered off and then back on (not using reboot)
---- Failed
Reboot to Recovery
No longer prompted for password
Factory Reset
Attempt to Fix Permissions: failed
Restore default settings
Reboot system
---- Failed
Reboot to Recovery
Prompted for Password, hit cancel
Format Data (type yes)
Reboot System
--- Successfully booted to CleanROM
Ran through phone / account setup
Saw home screen
Reboot (using reboot, not power off / on)
---- Failed
Reboot to Recovery
Prompted for password, hit cancel
Factory Reset: failed
Restore Default settings
Prompted for password, hit cancel
Factory Reset: failed
* Internal Storage showing 0MB (as if it's not reading it correctly)
Fix Permissions
Prompted for password, hit cancel
Nothing has changed, my phone is currently chilling in TWRP

I can't speak for OP, but I was hoping there was another way to rectify what has already been done without flashing stock seeing as how I'm on OSX. If that's the only option, then so be it.
Hey. Thanks for the feedback in this thread. I flashed factory through Odin, and everything is working fine. I then factory reset my phone through factory recovery. I'm back to standard touchwiz with all the bloat lol.
I'm going to wait until there a more stable release of cm10.1 - that was a good rom.

As I mentioned before starting over is always the Best and Safe way to go. Shortcuts will only cause you headaches and possibly get you a brick that is why you see Odin stock threads. Do yourself a favor and start over I know it sucks but when your modifying your phones its gonna happen once in awhile.

How do u back up your EFS files
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
**This is "my" way of doing things on my D800. I cannot take any responsibility for your device getting effed up no matter who's directions you follow!"
So you think you've got issues with this ROM? Won't boot, flash or start-up. Well, maybe you haven't followed the proper flashing sequence or you have a bad download. Did you know that 99.999% of the issues people are having is user related? Well, maybe I don't know the exact percentage, but you get my drift.
Seriously though, before posting a question, make sure you have done all the personal troubleshooting possible. To help make this a little easier, I am posting the exact method I use for flashing this ROM and I haven't had a single issue.
Before flashing any ROM, you should always be sure to do a proper back-up of your EFS files. This could very well save you from a bricked G2 and save you from having headaches if you do something wrong during the flash, wipe, etc...
The method I use is to download FreeGee from HERE. Once you have downloaded and installed FreeGee, you will have an option for backing up your EFS files and also will provided the different versions of TWRP (TWRP is all I use). Once your EFS files are backed-up, immediately upload them to the "cloud". If you need a good cloud app, HERE is one.
Now that you have this done, you are ready to attempt installing a custom ROM. Here are the steps that I take:
1. Boot into recovery
2. Make a back-up of your current ROM
3. Go back to the recovery home screen
4. Hit the Wipe button
5. Hit the Advanced Wipe button
6. Check the boxes for Dalvik Cache, System, Data and Cache. DO NOT CHECK THE INTERNAL STORAGE BOX!!!
7. Once the wipe is complete, go back to the recovery home screen
8. Hit the Install box
9. Choose the ROM you want to install
10. Swipe to confirm the flash
Once the flash is done, it should say successful if all went correctly. From that screen hit Reboot System. You should see the sweet boot screen and then be brought to the setup screen.
If you have done all this and you are still having trouble, please re-download the ROM and follow the steps again. You may have gotten a bad download.
If after you have followed these steps twice and you still have a ROM specific question, post away.
If anyone has something to add to this, let me know and I will add it. I hope this helps at least one person. bigfau, if you want me to remove this, please let me know.
Other Notes:
~ If you are on the software version that ends with "o", you will likely have to LGFlash back to the "d" version. @AyDee Thank you!
~ The newer version of TWRP and Philz Recovery may cause issues with flashing. I am using TWRP v2.6.3.3 and have no issues with it.
You could add that ATT users coming from the 'o' firmware need to roll back to 'd' and that a lot of users are having issues with the newest TWRP and Philz.
Not rom-specific but worth mentioning.
Anyone use Facebook Messenger on D800 with 3.0 and have it open two apps when you run it? Tried uninstalling and installing it again and still does it. Only app that does. Any idea how to fix it?

WIFI issue
I installed this rom on my D801 and seemed to go well. I booted up phone and could not connect to WIFI so I bypassed that part and when on. Everything seemed to be working so I went into WIFI settings again and tried to connect again but still wouldn't connect just kept searching. Can anyone help me resolve this issue because this really is a great looking rom and would like to use it?

I had similar problem on D800 and solved it by flashing TWRP 2.6.3.3 and then re-flashing this ROM. Hope it helps.
What are the changes in the last version

[Q] Random rebooting

Help needed please. I am on stock rooted ROM, and phone has started randomly rebooting during the day, often leading to a big battery loss. I've tried factory reset ; clear cache; and 2 other stock ROM, but it still does the same. Any help or suggestions please?

1. Factory reset your phone.
2. Make a backup of your data and Wipe all in Custom Recovery (this will delete all your data!! CAUTION!!!).
3. Reflash the firmware. In your case: HERE
this is for the black edition, which I have flashed already. Where is the firmware for UK unbranded please? This was what I had originally..
What do you mean also by
Wipe all in Custom Recovery
