Here you go fella give us a thumbs up if it works for you. It did with my "CX 919 II" :0)
link for software here should work on any "CX-919" device / TVstick
http://www.share-online.biz/dl/54FMSCQM0U
1. plugin cx-919 II with usb-cable on "usb" to usb-slot on computer and wait for detection as "cx-919".
2. a new device detected, called "cx-919" or "CX-919 II), go to device manager and install the
latest usb google sdk driver from sdk android 4.2.2 file "android_winusb.inf"
path to file: RK3188_ROOT\usb_driver
(included in this file, modded for x64 and x86 os for rk3188 detection).
3. after installation usb-driver, cx-919 now detected as "android composite adb interface"
for test driver install go to root directory from attached file and go to cmd and call:
adb devices
you should see a message like this:
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
0123456789ABCDEF device 4. next call "TPSparkyRoot.bat"
5. follow the onscreen instruction, 3 reboots and you have root
(wait for every step at least 2 minutes, so you are sure your device is rebooted and ready for next step...)
6. plug in cx-919 in tv and start app "Super SU" execute binary update and upgrade to latest version through google play store...

If you need a new firmware let me know especially if you find its locked to 1ghz as some are at the moment. check speed with perfmon.apk I have firmware that goes to 1.43 ghz. But I can't get display higher than 530p on any firmware. The firmware is from april 2014 build from what I can remember. ;0) I'm tempted to make a firmware myself for this stick if I can with 1080p hd, 1.8ghz cpu (stock max) and overclocked mali gpu.

Hi, can you please share a good, perhaps cpu, gpu an ram overclocked version with wifi and bt working? I have looked all over the internet. Bricked a couple of times. Bit still didn't find a fully working rom yet.
Thanks.

OK here you go. ) This is the most recent 1.4GHZ stock rom for the CX 919II model CYX_809III_RK3188 V2_1 20140208 ; http://www.mediafire.com/download/o...rom_vendor_have_playstore_working_1.46ghz.zip
As usual flash at your own risk ;0) Don't hold me responsible if you brick or damage your device.
The best way of knowing what firmware and kernel to use is to pry open you'r cx-919 and get the information printed on the mainboard.
It will say something like CYX_809III_RK3188 V2_1 20140208
If you post the information on this thread I will try find the best firmware for you.
CYX_809III_RK3188 V2_1 20140208
The one above is specific to the CX 919ii / CYX_809III_RK3188 V2_1 20140208.
HERE IS A 4.4 KITKAT ROM for the CX919II_andriod_4.4_tech_rk31_dongle_ap6210_140403
But I have not tested it yet on the above board. But give it a try if you like.

For most 919 II devices just look here for the firmware and kernel.

Thanks a lot! You're really a life safer ;
My version is ineed CYX_809III_RK3188 V2_1 20140208. There is not so much to be found for this version.
I had to open the stick (again) anyway because it was bricked "again" for trying the wrong version.
I tried the kitkat version from the second link, for the sake of trying and found the wifi an bt not working.
Then I flashed the official oc version and it works like a charm!
Thanks again for making my 50 euros nog go to waist

Did you use the firmware from the first link? I found that to be quite stable and work well at 1.4ghz. It also did work in 720p fine for me.
I hope to have a new version soon and will post in the next day or so :fingers-crossed:
I have direct link to factory so I normally get firmware months before the sellers do.

Yes I've used the firmware from the first link. It's been great so far. 720 working good, reaction time of the system also much better. Overall much snappier.
It would be great to have a new firmware. Good thing you're on xda

The factory is just starting to finalise it and have a working mass market flashable image by tomorrow. :fingers-crossed:

Wow, great! Thanks a lot. I will test it later today or tomorrow. I'll let you know how it works for me.
You know what's really funny. Even now I am looking in other forums. Mainly freaktab and there is so much confusion about this model. And so many people, like me struggling to find the right firmware. And here you are on this small thread providing it.
Sometimes I want to refer to this XDA thread but I don't know if links to other forums is appreciated.
Maybe next time I will

I don't see why they would have a problem with links to helpful threads really. They should appreciate it really in my honest opinion. Just hope it has faster cpu I just have had no time to check it myself yet. But it is straight from the factory and you sure have it before anyone else apart from me. It should have better hdmi support and offer better detection on more TV models. It is as far as I know supposed to offer faster cpu but if it does and you find it causes heat issues you can always underclock with nofrillscpu from playstore.

Just letting you know this new firmware runs very well its still only 1.43 ghz but all hdmi resolutions are now working on all my tv sets.
Its very stable and rootable the same way as the others I posted with debugging on just install supersu and . I am Getting just under 17000 score on antutu and it seems very snappy. I would suggest going into developer options and setting the window animation scales all to 0.5 or off to make it feel even snappier (I have them all set to off) especially animation duration scale. I would also suggest Nova launcher from playstore for a nicer launcher. Its running really well and so far I have had no problems at all.

Thanks for the update. I've just flashed the new firmware and was running antutu. It shows the cpu runs from 312 tp 1608 MHz. Score is 16742.
I have purchased nova prime before for my smartphone and have tried it on the stick but then the bottom bar was gone. Most of the time I only use a bt mouse so it's kinda usefull to me. But I agree nova makes the system snappier and nicer looking. I will install it again and try to adjust it so it works for me.
As for the other tips, I will definitely apply them. I have not rooted this stick before, bit tomorrow I will give it a try.
Keep me posted (^o^)
Greets from the Netherlands
Edit: I have installed nova launcher and the bottom bar is still available. I must have done something wrong last time.

I would suggest use antutu overclock instead of nofrills cpu as for some reason nofrills does not keep processor setting after reboot. antutu overclock does. Also set to 1.43ghz and performance in antutu overclock and tick apply at boot. Shame it still runs at only 1.43ghz but its as good as any custom rom.

Is this normal? is there a solution?
thank you

I have had zero problems with wifi. 72mb average. Just make sure you have both antenna pointing in slightly different position.
I normally keep them just up at a slight angle, just at an opposite angle to each other.
I find If I have them both straight or both full pushed back I get problems. Also make sure you set date time and timezone as accurate as you can. That causes problems if its not right. I found the rom is default to a strange time zone so its worth a check. Also after flashing the rom and rooting its always best to do a full factory reset. You will not loose root resetting. Just make sure to install root to system within supersu before factory restore.
Tried everything
THank you for that wonderful post,
but for the love of Pete, I cannot install that driver on my PC and or laptop.. When I try to install android_winusb.inf it keeps telling me I cannot install it that way.
And if I go via the device manager, it keeps telling me that my driver is up to date ;-((
How do I force intall the drive so I can finally root that device.
Cheers

This is a common problem try fully removing the drivers from device manager and make sure to tick the box for (delete driver software on the popup box) also. You should try all your usb ports and also make sure Android setting/ developer/ debugging is turned on!
Are you trying to root or flash the rom? If that fails you should try another pc or laptop. Sometimes some pc's just will not take the driver (I know its a real pain in the ass) but just keep trying. Windows 7 seems to have issues. Also make sure you use the otg port on the stick and keep the reset button press whilst inserting the stick (but only do that for flashing the firmware) you don't need to just to root the stick. )

As an quite user here in the forum, it is not allowed for me to share things in the development section.
Just want share a link, which patches RR 3.0.9 with the latest MALI drivers. Therefore for all people which can not wait for an update of rr 3.0.9 it is quite fine: memory leak fixed (had been very annoying because my phone got frozen after 3 days without reboot) and enables you to use the latest dorimax kernels >7.0 (fine battery + speed)
Found the patch in an german forum:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/custom-...ma-ota-resurrection-remix-jb-3-0-9-a-162.html
the patch itself can be downloaded under the link (thank the user rush85 in that other forum):
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzvcR7D2Mt5KQ1JLMXJDQmFzNkk
1) I flashed over rr 3.0.9.
2) wiped dalvic. wiped extweakts profiles in cwm
3) flashed dorimax 7.3 (mali)
4) to be sure, wiped again dalvic & extweaks profile again
5) reboot
and ready to go!
--> Much faster + reliable (memory fixed) + nice powersave

a personal question & comment
by the way a question:
does anybody knows how to directly get access to the developer thread?
I have not much time to post. But I'm a heavy linux user on my 3 desktop PCs since over 6 years. Know much about linux kernel tweaks, debugging and android.
But also one critic to S2 users:
I've followed the Galaxy ACE threads for the last year and must say, that there the "developer threads" are much cleaner! No noop with "how can I flash this" or "where do I find this and that" is disturbing the replies of testing by the community for clean feedback & input for the developer(s).
- Sorry for that, but the people should just post relevant things there to make it easy for the serious testers and developers.
So after this patch ,can i flash parandroid 2.21 which ri8 now does not support dual booting in siyah ???
no. that patch is only for the ressurection Rom in Version 3.0.9.
it has nothing do with other ROMs or versions. you would break it.
I don't know who actually developed that patch. but it is working fine. next RR ROM after 3.0.9 will nevertheless have the Mali driver patches included, as the sources will be updated.
so in summary: just for the impatient waiting users of RR ROM.
Sent from my GT-P6810 using xda app-developers app
and just one thing I forgot in the first post: run also fix permissions in cwm after flashing the patch and kernel.
whilst waiting for a new RR release,
I'm now very happy with the performance and battery life of my s2! just bought ot 10 days ago to substitute my good old samsung ace 1.
Some hints for optimizing your s2
Just for because I want to know the experience of other people:
Did anybody tried that mali patch?
I'm running it since the first post here. My tips for an excellent battery life with good performance:
Remember I'm using the combination of RR 3.0.9 + mali patches + Dorimanx Kernel 7.3 (need the mali patches)
Make use of the extweaks settings to undervolt GPU (800 mV is ok for mine at low frequencies) and enable some sleeper mechanisms. I undervolt the CPU with the app cputuner (for all frequencies -50 mV; otherwise unstable for me). Because I'm a lazy person I automatically adjust the brightness via lightsensors (Velis Auto brightness app works fine; but also eats some small cpu time).

For improving deep sleep times:
[A] Additionally I found out that it is really wothfull to get a baseband matching RIL modem configuration to get over 95% deep sleep. A good tool to check/correct this is:
"GetRIL"
I deactivated also "fast dormancy" (I'm on O2 in germany) with the App:
"Fast Dormancy Toggle i9300"
[A] and really did the trick to get a high amount of deep sleep for me. Without I had just approx. 75% and now up to 98% in G2 mode.
Playstore Issues due dpi change:
If you get problems with app compability in playstore after you changed the dpi in build.prop, I recommend to search for the "multi dpi playstore" replacement here in XDA.
Last thing which is interessting: no use to lower the CPU >200 MHz. Why with a clockfrequency of 200 MHz the equinox CPU is at the best rate of calculation speed / powerconsumption. Therefore lower frequencies: lower energy but more time to finish tasks --> worse than 200 MHz.
An really good and technical/scientific investigation with hardware measurements of voltages and power consumptions is given in a german forum FACTS and MEASSUREMENTS agains wild speculations:

Nice post, I will try this out and give some feedback. I'm still on rr 3.0.8 and dormanx 5.82 but I want to update

What are you browsing with? I had the same problem, but it is probably the browsers you are using. Are you using stock android browser? I used opera mini browser, and the page loads quite differently and gives you an option to download the zip file.
hi everybody. sorry hat i did not replied for a long time.
yes hat mali patch Form a Google drive must be downloaded by click in 'Datei' and then hit something linke download AS ZIP. unfortunately that forum is in German.... also the nice poeweconsumption measurements I posted a link for. maybe someone has the time to make it a viable in English for everybody.
you can flash the malipatch zip over a installed rr 3.0.9 by cwm. don't miss the wiping steps and fix permissions.
At the Moment I am on RR 3.0.9 + mal patch + dorimanx 7.4. a perfect combination for me.
by the way. I always activate in the developer options the 'disable hw overlay'.
feels smoother for me.
so let us hope that the next RR release will have the Mali patches inside. .... but until that release I already enjoy this combination. - until now no reboot had been necessary due to the old memory leak seems to be gone.

by the way a question:
does anybody knows how to directly get access to the developer thread?
I have not much time to post. But I'm a heavy linux user on my 3 desktop PCs since over 6 years. Know much about linux kernel tweaks, debugging and android.
But also one critic to S2 users:
I've followed the Galaxy ACE threads for the last year and must say, that there the "developer threads" are much cleaner! No noop with "how can I flash this" or "where do I find this and that" is disturbing the replies of testing by the community for clean feedback & input for the developer(s).
- Sorry for that, but the people should just post relevant things there to make it easy for the serious testers and developers.

I similarly have much to share at times, but I guess you just have to post to post. It might explain why there are lots of irrelevant comments.
About your critic to S2 users, my guess is that the S2 is a lot more popular and hence you would have a lot more people asking questions. The upside is you have more developers making awesome stuff on it.
OH and about the patch, will try that later.
Again: How to download

Call me old fashioned, but with things like firmware, roms and updates (not inly for a mobile, but other devices) I don't trust wireless. I always download serious things by desktop pc. There the download is quite fine with any browser. I used firefox. there is a screenshot attached.
But maybe this patch for 3.0.9 is not necessary, as we may get a new RR version this week. ? Let us hope the developer has some time after the the milestone release of the AOSP team is ready.
nice work!
can't wait for the next RR update

Longtime lurker. But its time to contribute! I recently bought a TimingPower RK3188 and searched high and low for these tools. After endless hours of searching and translating Chinese and Japanese I brought this little package together to build your own CFW. This probably isn't for complete newbies but I made it as simple as possible. I can confirm it works on my TimingPower RK3188 using Rockchip Batch Tool as well as copying update.img to SD. Anyway, enjoy!
This is what it does:
Extract update.img as well as system.img
Pre-root your firmware
Open system folder to edit your rom
Repack update.img
I cant post links so previews are a no no I guess. Let me know how it works. If this is the wrong section I apologize.
Thanks !!
Would like to bring to your attention (as you seem the only Chef so far) :

I am quite happy with them. However, some notes are in order. I received them with firmware 20130715 installed, and that does not support 1080p. The timingpower.com website offers 2 updated images for it, one 20131101, the other 20131104. The 20131101 image has some improvements over the 20130715 version, but still offers only 720p, but the 20131104 version does offer 1080p. I updated both units to the 1104 version, and it went smoothly, but it can be a bit unstable at times. The screen and sound cut out at random intervals, but I got used to that, even thought it is quite annoying. Overall the picture is amazing (i use it on a 65" flat screen). Speed is acceptable, not a gaming computer, but fast enough. Takes a bit to get used to using it, keep wanting to right-click stuff for options, and get dumped back a screen.
Suggest that you get a USB 2 hub (more ports are better). I connected a USB keyboard, USB mouse and USB camera (all cheap, nothing fancy), and they all worked fine. However, the tiny Bluetooth keyboard (IS11-BT05) that I got, doesn't seem to work. It pairs up just fine, and shows as recognized, but after that, nothing.
One caution note: if you do flash your device, make sure that you use a newer computer, with USB 2.0 , really old PC's with USB 1.1 will not work.
Making your own version of the ROM shouldn't be too difficult. Plenty of advise here, and there are even some tools available on the TimingPower site. I'm in the middle of customizing mine, and I have not found it particularly difficult. I mainly want to scrap some of the basic stuff, and make it more sleek (to my tastes). I am also considering incorporating a dual-boot option, for Android <-> Linus (not sure of what flavor yet).
BTW, I have an English translated version of the Chinese RKBatchTool Manual, should anyone need it.
thanks!

They absolutely have. I was able to "semi-root" with framaroot, so thankfully su is added BUT I still can't uninstall bloatware...although there isn't much it still bugs me. full root and ROM still needed.
Custom ROM for S6000 would be very nice. Searching for it every day.
KitKat
Hopefully someone will add a KitKat ROM when possible, don't see lenovo upgrading us to it when it becomes available. Don't think the tablet is popular enough unfortunately though.
Just use titanium back up to remove bloat.... Work great for me

Yea, I wish there was a custom ROM too. I just got my S6000-H yesterday, rooted it right away and used TiBu to remove some of the bloatware (I froze some more that I wasn't sure of). But it's missing simple things I'm used to from my N7000, like the advanced options in the shutdown menu.
I read in another thread that we do have a type of recovery built in - could someone tell me where to find it?
Never mind, found it ... and finally installed CWM today too. Now all I need is a nice custom ROM, but it doesn't look like any devs have that tablet
Use xposed to add modules. .. reboot, multi Window, floating, etc...etc... my S6000 tab works great. .. Still not good as my note 3 but...almost! My wife is jealous of all my tab can do... She think it stock that way. .. And her weird little Ellipses 7 Verizon gave hercan't do half of it. ... Guess I'll have to pimp her tab up for her! ! Look up x posed installer on xda, or Google it, then just follow where it leads. ... Easy

Thanks for that tip ... I just installed xposed and 3 modules, going to have a look through that huge list these days to see if I find more.
I installed the one to show the temperature in the status bar, the advanced reboot one and the one that shows RAM used/free in the task switcher. Pretty neat so far - if you know of any other "must-have" modules feel free to let me know

Thanks for that update!
I won't hold my breath for anything official seeing as Lenovo didn't even bump up to 4.3,
and zero ROMS out there? Or am I rubbish at searching?
I read in an other Forum that there is no Custom ROM yet because Mediatek isn't releasing Source Code of their ROMs. After Browsing Lenovo Site of the S6000 I have found this:
mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/s6000_tablet?tabname=manuals
You get linked to Manuals, click on Downloads section and then there is:
Open Source Code - S6000 Tablet 10/12/2013 - 320MB
Don't know if it's the right thing, just wanted to mention it here.
And other News on KitKat:
news.softpedia.com/news/Android-4-4-KitKat-Update-for-Lenovo-Yoga-8-Inch-and-10-Inch-Tablets-Coming-in-June-438474.shtml
It's getting closer now, first 4.4 mediatek tablet ( lenovo yoga ) get's update in June. Let's hope for a compatible version / port for the S6000.
In am wondering if the Updates for the Yoga Tablets are compatible with the S6000, cause they use same processor and overall same specs.

hi again :silly:
you can run in terminal
ps
also you can also connect via adb and run adb shell, then as root [su] run

i say to do that one through adb because it doesn't display correctly and is kind of unmanagable in the tab's
terminal window.
Also try modifying you performance settings, on the updated kernel you should be set to ondemand/cfq

Okay thanks looking forward to updates for this rom. Also I was wondering.. For the ROMs for the t530 tabs like the cm12 one they now have. What would need to be done to get it booting... as opposed to the tried and true way and i just don't have the patience to unpack that setup and repack it.
To be truthful i think i've gotten addicted to this stuff in a slightly mentally unstable kind of way :silly:
And as such am running multiple projects at once, so if you want to chip in on trying that approach, downoad one of the
sm-t53xx builds, get it unpacked and repacked cm11 style and link me to it, a respectable site, not 4shared or dumbass gator
or any place like that, and i'll see what i can do. my current attempts with bliss keep breaking at camerawrapper issues and gps issues.

Hi, I have read somewhere that it is possible to convert a Note 3 to a Note 5. I'm just wondering if it's possible.

I did. Everything worked bar possibly the video recording... but not Netflix (wont load movie)/iPlayer (not synced) and Youtube also has problems with playback. Still looking for a solution.
(Should have added. I have the exact same problem on all Android 5.0 and 5.1 roms I've tried, regardless if they are ports not Note 5/S6 or custom Note 3 stock roms)
For video recording fix, choose Note3 camera when you flash the ROM. The flickering is also resolved in Kernel 1.5 - search the thread for the download link. I'm running DL RC2.1 with DL kernel 1.5 - I don't have any mods installed.
As for the other issues, dirty flash the ROM. If the issues are also on the other ROMs as you said, it's clearly not the ROM issue.

I've tested the camera today on various roms (5.0/5.1) and also using the Note 3 camera. Each one crashes, sometimes rebooting the phone, whenever I try to record video in the camera. Instagram video recording doesn't work either.
I'm pretty new to this and I''m not sure how installing a different kernel might fix/change things? Not sure what a kernel is.

Like I said before, if you have tried different ROMs and the issue persists, it may be a hardware issue with the phone/camera.
The Kernel is the Operating System that runs your phone - it's based on Linux (a type of Operating System). Search for it on the Internet - the link on Wiki gives you a pretty good idea what it is.
How to install the ROM/Kernel is in the First Post of that DardLord Thread. The updated kernel (the current ROM comes with v1.1) is to be installed using custom Recovery.

Also, you'd probably want to upgrade your modem and bootloader as well. I did some research and I'm not using the ones they recommend in the DL Thread. I'm using BOJ1 Bootloader and POF3 Baseband. They work fine together, but remember that the latest isn't always the best.
I flashed darklord rc 2.1 and DL kernel 1.5.it s ok just problem with slow motion and fast motion.
Will it fix in next version?

My baseband is N9005XXUENE3, which Google tells me is a Vodafone Australia one. I'm using the handset in the UK on EE. Not sure what my bootloader is.
I'm currently using OS X so don't have Odin, but I hope to put stock firmware back on it when I get access to Windows. I'm not sure if I should put back on the Australian firmware or put on UK firmware. Do you know if there are any issues with changing countries firmware? Both are N9005 international.
I have flashed multiple times, both official firmwares and custom ones. It also depends on each situation. Your beginning point and your end state will determine whether or not you are successful. In any case, research before you touch the internals of the phone.

I think we are a bit confused. The topic of this thread was around an alternative ROM to our aging Note 3, which Samsung won't provide further upgrades. The alternative ROMs will breathe a new breath of life - which is what DL ROM aims to accomplish.
I can't offer solutions to the ROM related issues or provide any fix schedules, those questions need to be asked on the related threads.

Ah yes. Because the ROM thread is in the Developers section. What I can suggest is to search the thread and perhaps someone has already asked the same question? Or just bookmark the thread and closely monitor the latest activity.
I think the post restriction will be lifted after a user contributes enough to XDA.
I've installed Aurora Team Note 5 on my N9005. It looks good but kids mode. When I try to open, it stops.
No you cant actually turn your note 3 into note 5 but you can install custom roms based on note 5.

Thanks. I only have a Mac so flashing roms can get a bit more tricky. Although yesterday I used my friend's Windows computer and Odin to successfully flash a stock rom. I'm now running the latest UK 5.0 firmware, and no issues. I think now I could probably root it again and use DarkLord N5 rom and possibly wouldn't have the same issues I was having before now that the baseband has been updated, but at the moment I think I'll keep it stock.
Sounds good. To an average user, there aren't a lot of visible changes between 5.0 and 5.1.1 anyway. Unless something you desperately need is missing from stock or you want to be on bleeding edge technology, there is no reason to stress with the custom ROMs
5.1.1. does look a little better, but I'm happy with a fully functioning 5.0. As much as I like the 5.1.1. roms, I'm not keen on the ones that are ports and have features that don't work, or don't work well.
