I've encountered the same thing after upgrading to 4.4. This seems to be a little discussed but common issue without a work around just yet. I've sent a PM to Wanam about it, hopefully we can get this working again.

Searched for half an hour, 'AMIGO.'
Honestly, it's guys like you- bent on trolling and pointing out the search function- that litter these forums up even more than those who don't search at all. I'm aware of the search function. I didn't post out of laziness. Clearly I couldn't find what I was looking for or I wouldn't have posted.
Do something USEFUL with your time, troll.

Thanks again for the direction, unfortunately I have a T-Mobile US Tab so I have no dialer to enter this settings menu through. Any other suggestions? Also, the low volume I'm looking to fix is in the media player- when I watch movies, other media, the volume seems incredibly low...
Install euro firmware to get the dialer and then the modem switcher to get call/3g data functionality.

I had the same issue(s) with volume. This solves the problem, with changing sound volumes in speakers and headset. Flash as stated above, your problem will be solved.
Search function doesn't work.

In fact the Search function doesn't work,at least on my Galaxy tab. Hen I clidk on Search this forum, a window pops open and when I click in it to bring up the keyboard,it disappears! So I go to advance search, where at least I can type something but it always says no results found!
I've been avoiding flashing my sgt, not that I don't have the ability but more-so because I don't want to have to set everything back up again.
However, after reading this thread, it's another reason to flash me thinks

I just reminded you of a forum rule, you probably didn't read. I said search in a friendly way, and did not use any insult.
I posted a volume fix for the tab, so I know if you searched, you could find it. What litters the threads are the same questions repeatedly asked by people who don't do their work, and the people who argue and insult.
If you disagree with someone, you should say so, and stay away from insults.

I agree with you. The search process is pathetic. I always go to the pc when I look for something on xda, because its so slow or non-existant on the tab.

[Q] Atrix getting 2.4

Correct me if I am wrong here, but so far only the nexus s (single core) has gotten gingerbread (2.3).
I believe since (2.4) natively supports multi-core, and has the same name "gingerbread", is it safe to assume that 2.4 is merely gingerbread for multi-cores, and that the atrix won't get 2.3?

Anybody that reads a tech website knows about it. Samsung's already put out a press release acknowledging the problem. When it's fixed, I'm sure they'll know about it before we will and put out another press release. Nothing's going to hijack your device that you don't allow. Don't visit sketchy websites, download iffy apps with a low number of users, and don't accept certificates from website's you're not comfortable with. For the time being I'd disable "Unknown sources" in settings and enable "Certificates" in the browsers security settings. Samir pointed out earlier the naive could get in trouble accidentally. We here aren't naive.
May be i used the wrong word what i ment was an normal user who is a layman when it comes to tech and believe there are many on this site to who come for advice.
Will i still be able to update to the jellybean ota after this root method?

As explained in the other numerous threads and asked by other hundreds of users (who also don`t read threads or use google) the bootoader and other software components won`t allow you to downgrade. It just refuses to install the older bootloader and the JB rom installation will be aborted.
He's right, it been asked many times. I knew, but I asked for clarification. Just do a little search next time.

Don't use the general search bar at the top of the forum. Go to the overall Verizon Galaxy S5 forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5
and use the search bar located along the right side of the screen that reads, "Search this forum." I used that search bar and got links to the threads linked below in my search results. Reading just a page or two at the end of any of these threads would have given you the answer you were looking for so you wouldn't have needed to start a whole new thread asking a question that has been asked and answered an inordinate number of times:
