Hardware: LG-D802 (LG G2 intl)
Software: Android 4.4.2 CM11 Snapshot M4 (http://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/61419/cm-11-20140308-SNAPSHOT-M4-d802.zip)
Other info.: Rooted, SuperSU as manager. gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip installed. Lucky Patcher, Droidwall, Stickmount, Root Explorer, Terminal Emulator, GAE Proxy, etc. installed.
Problem: Lucky Patcher cannot patch the hosts file, so I did that manually, the hosts file was updated successfully however it's NOT working

No matter I redirect that 123.134 thing to 127.0.0.1 or 233.233.233.233, none of them works. I can still ping it. I set the permission of the hosts file to rw-rw-rw-, it's still not working.
Please help! Why the hosts is not working? I thought it has very high priority...

Dman, the problem is due to the line break. The file is using CRLF instead of LF, I'm a fool.

I have just released my first app on the marketplace. It is a GUI to the hosts file. The app, HostsEditor https://market.android.com/search?q=com.treb.hosts&so=1&c=apps, allows you to add, remove or disable entries into the hosts file.
I developed this app because at home my dsl router does not do NAT and so going to any url hosted locally doesn't work. I wanted a way to easily toggle a hosts entry so that while on 3g it will still work.
*This app does require root access because it modifies the hosts file*
It is a free app with ads or I've released a 'pro' version that is the exact same but without the adds for $0.99.

Hi all,
I used to be able to log onto VPN without any issues. However recently I am having trouble connecting to the VPN network. I tried different VPN apps but none of it works. I have also installed Tun.Ko installer but there isn't any tun.Ko module which is compatible to my phone. Do you know how to resolve this issue? I really do hope to be able to use VPN again without having to do a factory reset. I have attached screenshots of the diagnostic report by DroidVPN for your reference.

My phone is running on Android 4.4.4.
Anyone can help?
Hi!
It's been a few days that I am trying to remove invasive pubs in some applications. I used Lucky Patcher. I modified the host file with the Dorimanx Stweaks tool ("other") and finally I installed Xposed with the "minminguard" module. Nothing works. I'm on stock rom 4.4.2 with Dorimanx kernel 9.9.
I am desperate. This popup appears regularly in the application that I use ... despite the host file and minminguard.

Thank you in advance for your help
If yo have root just install AdAway apk, run it and thats it
You have to enter Minminguard app and select the application you want it to block the adds before or it won't work.
flash MOAAB and you're done.

I have a Galaxy s4 R970, running cm12.1 on Android 5.1.1. And I want to open the boot.img file on my phone (don't have a computer currently) so I can edit the kernel to allow overclocking.
This will be my first attempt editing a kernel, but I need to expand my horizons.
So, the issue I have currently is a PIE error in terminal trying to open the boot.img using unmkbootimg command. (some older utilities) found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/how-to-guide-extract-boot-img-android-t3114380)

Although, I DO also have a rooted galaxy s aviator running jb, I would like to try to avoid using it as much as possible.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
I was using normally my J510 on stock ROM rooted, opening a website inside the Facebook, when zygote asked for su access.
I googled it and discovered that it's a system app, but it never happened before.
It's 100% safe? Should I gave root access?
No. NO
Why it's happening?
Malware?
I was using WhatsApp Extension, an Xposed Framework Module.
Only these two apps/process are unusually asking for permissions via SuperSU.

Is that WhatsApp Extension (ExtModule.java), reported here
If you don't trust it, don't use it.
