Has any body noticed that the bootup sound is very low. I can hardly hear it on stock rom. Is it normal or it is only my problem? And does rooting causes this problem.
Thanks and regards

Hi I currently have Overcome ROM which has a different bootup but when I first got my tab the bootup sounded pretty loud, even after rooting it. btw I have GT-P7510 and not 7500
TBH, I didn't even know there was a bootup sound. :S

Finally I've found a solution for this problem. They have separated. System volume adjuster and the media volume adjuster( they were one thing on gingerbread ). So go to settings / volume and increase the system volume

Hi,
It is kind of really annoying, the sound (earphone) isn't lound enough, I really like when it is loud. I do have good earphone, on my iPad, it can be so much loud that I could get deaf. Anything to fix ? I've tried 3 differents Volume Booster on the Google Market and it makes a little louder but still not enough and break all the sound quality.
Thanks you ! I'm runing Stock 4.1.1
Anyone plase?

just as in All the other threads about poor sound and speaker quality ..
yes the sound is weak on the nexus .. Search can be your friend...
Hmm I see :/ Can't we somehow fix that ? Is it only Nexus 7 or all Android Tablets?
I really dont care about speaker, but I was expcting something good from my hearphone

Nope, it is what it is. It sounds like you already tried something like Volume+ to boost the volume. It helps a little, but it starts sounding bad if you crank it too high and you could possibly damage it too. I have Volume+ set to 7, which gives a bit of a boost without messing up the audio much.
Yeah I see :/ Is it a hardware limit or software related?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I think it's hardware since every software hack to make it louder gives a little boost and then it sounds like crap.

Oh well that sucks :/ Why didn't google bother to use a good sound card for headphone
What if I use Blutooth hearphone? Is it going te be as great as an iPad?

Any?

Have you tried Volume+? Seems to work for me.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah I did but still not loud enough and the quality get poor.
If I buy bluetooth hearphone, will it fix ?

People have been reporting broken speakers when playing too loud. Just be cautious
I aleady use Volume+ and it is not enough.
If I buy Bluetooth headphone, will it be better?

No bluetooth will make no difference.

I find the volume of my Nexus 7 just fine, both internal speaker and headphone. But I guess the experience can vary between people and device...

Really Why not
It's not necessarily hardware, my asus transformer had low volume, then an os update sorted that all out. Have you tried out different apps to see if the problem is there on all of them. I noticed that netflix volume is pretty low but youtube is fine. It's a bit of a pain to do, but it might be worth backing up your apps and trying a factory reset.
Oh well I change rom so often that it will unlikely change anything

Unless you use Bluetooth speakers. I had a Logitech Boombox arrive today. Works great.
Every now and then, when opening an app or using the system buttons at the bottom, a very short "click" noise comes from the speaker. I have my N4 on silent/vibrate all the time and it is not an operating system noise that's meant to be there because its random. The best way to describe it is that it seems like the phone is "accidentally" starting to play a sound then stopping because its realised its in silent mode.
Anyone else getting this? Views on this problem?
(It happened again as I was typing this, so it happens through the the keyboard key presses as well)

Media Volume
Maybe you have to turn down the media volume.
I don't have a nexus 4, but I do get that random click noise on my incredible s as well, and from many different roms. I am not sure what it is, though.
Key press noise in settings turn it off may stop it the Gnex had this issue and still does

I get that click noise occasionally on my HTC HD2.
Running PACMAN 4.1.2 Jellybean at the moment.
I had this issue as well. I just turned off touch sounds and all is well.
I should note that I have keyboard sounds enabled and I do not experience the random clicking noise.
It seems to be isolated to the enabling of touch sounds, whether on vibrate or any audible volume.

Could it possibly be the autofocus that people are taking about?

It does sound like that . mine sounds loose when I tap that back glass everything seems to be working OK and not sure if I'll let it bug me just yet

I have the autofocus rattle issue as well. But I rarely if ever would shake my phone like that.
At this point I am just grateful that I got my phone, let alone got my phone earlier than projected. There are a lot of people that would love to hear the rattling of the autofocus on their N4.

Power Management
Ok... I think this is correct,
The audio chip like most other IC's are entering power saving mode milliseconds after you hear any audio so the small click is the powering up and down of the audio hardware... Many phones do this and many people don't notice it.
It's quite normal but if you have very good hearing it might bother some more then others.

It seems like a touch sound issue.
Make sure you've got touch sounds turned off by going:
Settings > Sound > Touch Sounds (disable the checkbox)
So I just noticed this. With headphones on I heard little electrical sounds on the right side whenever I press something on the touchscreen. I tried this on 2 different pairs of headphones and it happens on both. It is annoying when I don't have music playing cuz then I can hear it. It isnt very loud but is noticeable.
Anyone else experience this?
I am on CyanogenMod nightly BTW, so that may have something to do with it but my feeling is it is hardware based issue.

I just did a test and it appears its only happens when the phone is plugged in. The power from the cord being so close to the headphone jack must be messing with it. Well this sucks! I'd like to hear if anyone else is experiencing this. Thank you.

none whatsoever, try different headset\appliance, yours could have a wire\water corrosion issue
Sent from my LG-D802
I flashed back to stock and to my surprise the problem wasnt there any more. I will have to test CyanogenMod and this problem more.
