N9005 keeps deleting KNOX - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I take take the battery out for a while I'm able to now login. but at this point it says "deleting KNOX". I realise that all my applications are nowhere to be found. Google PlayStore too is off. Bottomline is, there is nothing on the fone at this point; not even the Samsung and Google Folders. Its happend 4 times within the last month.
Please help. Thanks

Were u using Knox before ? If u were using Knox all ur data are encrypted inside Knox. The problem arose when Knox container damaged (Knox 0x1). If that is what happened then ur Knox data is surely be gone.

I hadnt moved any of the data to KNOX. I hardly even use KNOX, though its installed and set up. Is there a solution to the KNOX container getting damaged so often? an update or something available?
Thanks.

I dont know whats going on to ur phone but it seems that Knox has broken. Check via download mode VolDown-Home-Power at the same time whether Knox values is 0x1 or still 0x0..

It's still 0x0

Reflash your Stock ROM, If your KNOX is 0x0 still all it'll do is repair any damage to the system files and restore it.

I don't know if there is some part of Knox that is inbuilt, but if I click on the Knox app, samsung asks me to 'install' it
I just tried to 'scrapbook' the screen it displayed and got a toast message saying 'unable to capture screen, DRM protected image'
Just tried taking a screen shot of the Knox app myself Lol

[Q] Restore for warranty without cable

Hi to all.
I have some issues with my S4 and want to have it treated on warranty, but the major issue is the USB connector NOT working.
It is charging somehow, but disconnecting and connecting all the time.
Another issues I have are the switching between Edge and HSPDA+, which is mostly not working, I have to switch it manually to H+ or GSM.
Also my screen is blinking, so I will send it back and never want to se that again.
But the problem is, that the original rom I had was Polish (it is unofficial distribution in my country) and I flashed it a few times, rooted, tried several ROMs but reverted back to original. Now there is German Rom installed - the official one, no Root or recowery, but I think the internal counter (Knox or how is called) is set up.
Is there any way to put it to the original shape with only access through SD card? Or do you think, will the service look for that counter?
Thanks for your replies.

The problem is, this counter is just for the services and seller... if Knox is 0x1 they wont repair it without costs. But you can try it anyway
How to check the knox?

Shut down your phone. Press Power + Volume Down until the screen turns on. Than there is a Warning, ignore it and go ahead. There will be the Knox and everything

So maybe your seller wont repair your phone...I would make a full wipe in your case and see if the problems still exist.
Another thought, maybe the download mode connection to computer is working.

Try it, if yes, go to recovery and wipe all your user data, clicking clean to install a new rom (In philz touch recovery) and than flash the latest software from sammobile, searching your provider
than flash it in Odin3.09, select AP and than choose the downloaded rom (it must be a tar.md5 file.)
Yeah, but now I read there is no way to set the knox trigger back, anyway....

No, there is no way. Most of people say it's en eFuse chip and when you flash any custom thing, this chip will be destroyed and it will be destroyed for ever.

[Q] Reset the flash counter knox without altering the warranty void - SM-G900F

Hello. Thanks in advance for your help.
(Oh! Sorry for my bad English, not my native language)
My galaxy s5 phone (Samsung SM-G900F) is having problems with the camera, because when the application suddenly appears a message saying "connection error" and does not allow to use it. So I reset the phone to work again.
I thought maybe by installing a newer version of the ROM version would work (my operator no update at that time), so I downloaded the latest version without carrier.
However, the problem occurs again. So I want to take your phone to the warranty offered by my carrier, but I must erase traces of flashes, because otherwise I will not get the phone to warranty.
How I can reset the flash counter knox without altering the warranty void?
At this time, the device is unroot. But in the download mode, the number of flash appears.
Thanks for the help.

So will the company respect that it is a hardware problem and Support the warranty, or not because of the counter?
I don't know what happens in this case, that's why I ask..
Thanks,

As you live in Europe warranty even after rooting is still valid, unless Samsung can prove that rooting caused the defect. This is a European law for protecting consumers.

Right now I have 0x0 Knox Warranty Void.
I want to reset the flash counter only ..
I know I can root with Towelroot. I know I can reset the counter with triangle away. But I do not know if using triangle away will tripping knox warranty void 0x1.
Doesn't the Knox Counter 0xsomething indicate if the device has been flashed? If it's 0x0, your warranty is still there and you don't have to worry.

if we unroot phone can't we just enable it ?
Depends how it's rooted. If Knox Warranty Void is 0x1 - you can't do nothing to it. If device is rooted keeping Knox flag 0x0, there might be a way to recover the data somehow, since Knox shouldnt be locked up.

If he used cf-auto-root Knox warranty is void (you can check that booting phone to download mode, if you don't know how or what that is, Google it. If there is line "Knox Warranty Void 0x1" means warranty is void, and "0x0" means it's fine)
Knox is 0x1 on his phone and that means there is no way to recover data from Knox container, at least as for now, most probably will never be.

Oh god. Knox warranty void means Knox is not secure anymore. You can't recover data no matter what you do. If you unroot, it changes nothing.
Read this article from Samsung about Knox and CF-Auto-Root.
It clearly says: "Once the e-fuse bit is burned, a Samsung KNOX-enabled device can no longer create a KNOX Container, or access the data previously stored in an existing KNOX Container. This is a mechanism to ensure that enterprise data will be protected as long as the rooting attempt is detected."

Galaxy S7 Edge Private Mode Is Not Working

Hello
This afternoon, I'm trying to activate the Private Mode for my S7 Edge. At first, it does not let me enable it after I turn it off.
Then I performed a factory reset. Right now, the phone does let me turn the private mode on and off, but there is no option for me to transfer video or pictures into private mode. I press and hold the file, but in the More Option, there is not anything which let me move the file into private mode.
Is there any solution for this? Please help
Have you rooted your phone? Rooting triggers knox which makes it useless and to my knowledge, private mode uses knox. I kniw for certain secret mode in browser does use knox. Once knox is triggered then these features become unavailable. The reason for this is because root drastically weakens knox security so samsung purposefully kill knox on root. Thats the risk you have to take if you root. If you havent rooted then i have no idea what is going on but this is my first thoughts based on what you have said

Now im really confused as I know for certain a tripped knox kills secret mode on the browser. I just assumed private mode would suffer the same fate....

Private mode is a Knox container. Knox CANNOT be tripped to use Knox containers.

well my knox is tripped
Yes, it "turns on" but cannot be used.
Edit: your didn't say that, OP did, my bad.

the op probably is rooted and just did not put that information in their. i had my phone rooted and was testing private mode and it did not work but then i went back to all stock phone. i had private mode back.
ecg803, can you actually put anything in to private though? Switching it on or off doesnt mean its usable. For example, go to gallery, select an item, click more in top right, and is the 'move to private' option available? I agree with toastido that although you can switch it on and off, the actual ability to put anything in there should be, ahem, toast
yes i can.

Im puzzled. You are the only person i have come across to have it working after tripping knox. Dont suppose you have any numbers for the UK national lottery tomorrow?
I had same problem with S5 which is unrooted but Twrp was installed which triggers Knox counter. Now Marshmallow 6.0.1 is not letting Samsung Browser to open private tab unlike on my S4 which is rooted and has 5.0.1 lollipop. It is a Marshmallow + Samsung scandal.
