alright ..first ...no matter how many times u flash, if u flashing right thing, motherboard doesnt gets damage! maybe the file you flashed screwed up with your boot.img and damaged ur hardware(bcoz hard brick sucks...) there are many ways to restore it!... people use j-tag to revive devices!!
try that/...
hope u remember that even on triangle away app, it is clearly stated that app can also damage ur hardware!!!!!!!!!(yet it hasn't in any case, but still)

Not that case bro while a new rom is flashed it will definitely go high on the temperature but the issue is whenever im using it for a long time i normally use whatsapp for continues use for around 1hr on the least previously it wouldn't get that heated up if i used it but now it is may be because of my new battery!!!yet i fear for a hard brick so frm 3 months just switching over custom roms currently on pyramid k3

thanks for your reply but these only work if you have some life in the phone, mine dosnt light up vibrate or anything
might be worth a try anyway... I mean you could always bring it to a repair centre???
Here is a tip for you, mate
If your phone is so damaged that no one seems to know what went wrong with it unless you told them you flashed a ROM and everything went wrong.
SEND TO SAMSUNG FOR FREE!
How? With your current condition, they can't tell that you messed around with it. Do not mention anything about Froyo, Gingerbread, Odin, Flash, Kernel. Act like you know nothing about all of those.
Try to put the blame on Kies. Tell them that you connected to Kies and it asked you for a Firmware Update. You click UPDATE and *KABOOM*. Your warranty would not be void. Trust me

yes left it on charge over night
I bought my phone from someone else too. But the dude gave me a warranty document together with it.
I'm not sure if this applies to other region, but in Asia, phones have warranty stickers in them in case the warranty documents are not available.
Samsung Galaxy S GT i9000 has a warranty period of 2 years.

And in most cases the Service Centre will just the IMEI of the phone to check the warranty status. Hope you get it sorted..
Normally, when you charge your phone and you press the power key, the screen will show a battery charging, and the level of charge. When you do it, does anything come out in the screen?

According to said thread, nothing you can do short of sending it back to Samsung for a motherboard replacement.
Its under a 1 year manufacturers warranty. Make up some dumb **** story and send it back in. Thats the advice I got for my SGSII. "Tell them you were on the phone, it started to get stupid hot, and you did a battery pull." If you play a story well enough they should offer a replacement. Or check out mobile tech videos.com and see if they offer a jtag service for the note. Furthermore, if they do, you will want to contact them and explain and see if they could help before sending it in. Good luck, I know how upset I was when I bricked my SGSII.

Well I was one of the first ones to totally brick my phone on stunner .sent it to Samsung. Its been a month just got it back. Now get this, I bought this phone off a fellow at a shopping center so no guarantee, but I just got it back fixed for nada, zero and under warranty. Sammy definately known they sent out sh1te emmcs this is proof.I spoke to the tech who I originally sent it to and he reckons I fried two parts of the chip so unrecoverable (it was black screen) so he sent it on to Sammy for mobo change. Sammy sent it back with in their words latest firmware... 2.3.6 no less .as soon as I stuck on the Wi-Fi it said upgrade to new firmware available... ...sneaky sneaky.... oh they know alright

Glad to see your Note alive and kicking, Denny. Welcome back, both of you.
I must say I am amazed at the amount of posts with people bricking their phones. There is so much info here now regarding the bug it should be almost impossible to brick. I would urge everyone to stay away from ics and use a cm9 rom or any rom based on cm9 until Sammy pull their fingers out and release a decent firmware that doesn't trigger the bug when wiping
Hi
i know that there are so many posts about bricked phones ...but i don't know what actually happened to my I9505
i tried so many roms and everything is alright , also i never bricked a phone before .
but when i woke up the other day i tried to check the clock on my phone but it won't turn on ((i missed the alarm and a day of my job because of that))
i tried to restart it (power+home) but nothing happened and there is no sign of life ,
i can't get into the recovery or download mod , i tried USB JIG but it gave me nothing
this is so weird ,it was ok when i went to bed that day
the only thing i remember is that i changed the CPU voltage to 700mhz MAX and 100 MIN for couple hours
but then i change it back
my question is did i lost my phone completely ? or there is something i can do
and do you think JTAG could fix it ??
THANKS

What ROM do you have installed? What program did you use to change CPU freq?
Did you linked it to the charger that night? Did you check it started to charge? Try a charged battery in order to discard.

Try as last chance connecting the data cable to pc, then push vol- and while pushing it plug in the data cable connected to the pc. If it doesn't enter in download mode, service center (i am really site you are the first one in the world with a hard brick).

You are wrong, service center takes up to one or two month while he will be without he phone. Sometimes people doesn't know battery could be completely dead, or a different way to enter in download, etc... What could solve the issue in only some minutes instead months. This is one of the reason people in xda are here trying to help people. When every software actuation (or an very easy hardware manipulation) is done unsuccessfully, people advice to take it to service center.

No, this is the only part from a smartphone you can't buy as a separately part, because changing motherboard would change also completely your phone, imei, etc... And possibly the price would be close to the price for a new s4... It would have no sense.

Take it to the service center, they will give you a diagnostic and a proposal for the reparation, and then you will decide if you want to pay for a functional repaired s4, or you just want to sell it as separately parts...
Enviado desde mi GT-I9500 usando Tapatalk 2
May I ask, where did you exactly buy it from. Sometimes if you bought it straight from a shop such as Vodafone, Optus, AT&T etc they may repair it. Mine was a hard brick. No power whatsoever and my carrier repaired it for free (thankfully) Since the s4 is a popular, they may be able to repair it in a somewhat short time

Hi Folks,
I have got a strange issue. First let me tell my story. My phone was fallen down 2 weeks before and the screen was broken but the functionality wise(including mobile data), phone was good. After 4 days, i replaced the screen from customer care, after that my sim card was not getting any signals. then i gave back to customer care and they fixed the problem with in 5 minutes. (On the same day night, my phone was fallen again to water, fortunately nothing happened, only the speaker was acting weird, it went OK after sometime)
Here the problem part starts, after the screen replacement, for the first time i turned on the mobile data on my phone. then magnetic sensor weird issue started. When the mobile data is on, the phone feels some magnetic noise and the S view cover display will flash through screen. This will happen like once in few minutes or in a such gap. it will just flash for 1 sec and go. When the mobile data is OFF/ in the flight mode, the issue never occurs. Any idea on this
I ran few tests, the results are in the attachment, i changed SIM and the behavior is same.
When i contacted the customer care, they said they have seen this issue and they can make it good by installing fresh s/w again. But my phone is out of warranty(so i need me pay for this) and i already tried cleaning my phone, wiping everything, installing fresh ROM's..
But nothing does the job
The issue is resolved by installing the latest Black edition firmware (from Samsung service center)
iSsue is coming again, s view is flashing when i am on a call or mobile data is on.

Warranty Issue ? But i will keep that screw safe with me so that whenever some problem arises i can put it back
I had the same issue on my I9500. It happens due to faulty magnet sensor.
I had to follow up with Samsung Service Center to replace the entire screen again because the sensor is a part of it. Take a video of the issue with some other phone, it helps to explain the Samsung Service.
Same issue I had with my phone. New mainboard and new screen didn't fix it. The magnetic sensor is part of the screen assembly.
Only thing that fixed it for me was to either run a CM11 based ROM or just set my mobile data to WCDMA only.
Problem hasn't returned once since I made that change.
PS: The L1 screw method didn't work for me

Well the screw issue does not work for all. Its is just a way ok keeping it away from bwing magnetized. Nothing more. Because the senor is locayed somewhat there, then the screw works as a potential magnet.
And about the edge and w+ thing, can someone tell me how that works technically ?

As you unscrew it do it with extra caution and precautions and with a proper screw driver because in India, to be soo true, the SSC guys have a habit of checking the screws and if they find any thing weird they straight away say "ye kahin se khulwaya tha kya" (did you get it opened from some local shop) amd start showing it to the other engineers and everyone of them will say "haan haan haan, lagta hai" (yes, we think)
So it gets a bit embarassing.
And if you can..get a plastic screw from some shop (if you find any) and place it instead to fill the void.

And unfortunately Screen Change didn't work for me i even doubt if magnetic sensor is a part of screen assembly

Well good for you It has been an issue for ages. Mine just stopped by force stopping the sec.com...sviewcover.

The only thing left for me right now is to remove the screw! Everything else has failed
BTW i did tell those stupids at the service centre that a simple screw change will do as it's getting magnetized from magnetic sensor but still they couldn't help me with the issue.
What if my issue never gets resolved ? Ain't i entitled for a exchange of phone ?

My phone had been to service centre 3 times!
1st time - Factory reset
2nd time- Screen Change
3rd time- IMEI rewritten and software reinstall
i have shown them the recorded video but they got no idea of the issue... they are clueless!
And unfortunately Screen Change didn't work for me i even doubt if magnetic sensor is a part of screen assembly

You can justbremove the screw..stop sec.....sviewcover. and be done with it.
Plus try that only 3g thing..that works too.

Bro if you had "searched", there was no need of this thread. Its the 10th or the 20th of the same kind.
Plus if you want to exchange it and still something like this happens then?
Its not that an issue. Your phone is just 2 months old you cant even root it. If you couldve, then any CM rom or an xposed module wouldve done wonders.

There is some international thread (not on xda)where i read about this issue few weeks ago.
There few people tried diff roms but the issue couldn't be resolved. The screen blinking continues.
My phone has been ok for 1st one and a half months but one day after i came home suddenly this started... So it's not like i am surely going to get the issue in new piece

Well touchwiz based roms might have this problem.
There is a huge difference between CM roms and TW roms.
And also S view cover works only with TW based roms..so..blinking is a hard to digest fact on CM based roms.

Uhhh...he did not mention which roms..
CM does not have any provision for the sview cover so how can itthe screen flash :/
CM based roms and Custom Touchwiz roms are different!
Touchwiz is just like the samsung we are using having mostly samsung stuff and look and feel is just like of samsung.
CM based roms are pure android. They are very stable and have no such thing as samsung apps or samsung's stuff.
A CM based rom looks as if we are using nova launcher (if you just use the launcher from play store, youll get a feel of CM roms) but CM roms infact are lighter, faster and smoother as they are pure android.
