File Transfer in recovery not working - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know how to get usb file transfer in recovery working? When im in recovery all works fine. I love TWRP..... But I cant get files to transfer in recovery.
When I click on mount usb storage nothing happens.
My old razr on safestrap while in recovery the file transfer is blazing fast. 10 times faster then if im transferring with the phone actually on.
Any suggestions would be great.

Any help would be awesome. Over 50 views so I'm not alone. Thanks......

Need help after trying to flash a ROM, now stuck at HTC logo

Hi there, i think i failed at trying to flash a ROM to my desire HD.
I followed the process for temp and then permroot and it all seemed fine. Read further to wipe all data so i did. Then decided to make a backup and that went fine aswell. Upon reboot it just hangs at the HTC logo. I have to pull the battery just to turn it off.
I can boot into recovery mode and tried to restore to my backup but same problem. Foolishly i did all this while waiting for the revolution ROM to download so not even sure how to copy it to the sd card and trying to flash it to the ROM to see if that gets its going.
Would really like some help on this =/
Spose the question is, now that i cant actually start the phone apart from into recovery mode, is there a way to copy the ROM to the sd card still?
Or any ideas on getting it to boot further then just the HTC logo?
help with images attached
wiping all data cause you to lose whatever is on there, inclusive of ROM etc, it sounds like it has nothing too boot.
you can mount your SD via CWM (clockwork Recovery) by going to mounts & Storage and also mount USB and it will then show up as it normally would on your PC if you had a rom.
see photos to guide you
OH FYI youll need to format;
- Boot
- System
- Data
- Cache
Thanks, im able to copy the rom over now, ill flash to it and see how it goes.
Thanks, all is working now

[Q] Need HELP with bootloop

I cannot seem to find this problem anywhere else here but forgive me if it is. I have a TF101 I believe pre B70 although I can't find anything that says that but I bought it in Aug of 2011. I have CWM 5.8.3.4 which was installed with the rom manager first mistake as it can't access my ext SD card. I had JB and wanted to go back to Revolution Rom as I was having some SOD issues and decided to use Super wipe. I think Super wipe froze as I was using it and after waiting 15 minutes after the 3rd format I rebooted. The CWM problem which existed before is that in order to not boot into CWM I had to hold the Vol down button and then when I got to WIPE DATA or ANDROID screen I could chose android and it would boot into the rom. I tried NVflash and ADB in APX mode and although device manager says it is in APX mode in I cannot get it to react to any commands. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the drivers from google and asus but nothing seems to work. I am not sure if I could use odin although I don't think it is recognized there either. I tried another computer and nothing. One thing I did do in CWMR is format everything but now I can't get it to mount /data. Any help would be appreciated

Thank you for replying but
I cannot put anything on the sd card because
1 it won't mount
2 can't push anything to it because the computer won't see it (although device manager has it as APX)

So I tried on a third computer and finally got the drivers to work in NVflash which took it back to Honeycomb. Wow what a relief.

Recovery > Factory Reset / Wipe
^ that should get it back to working
You can also "adb shell" in while in recovery and look if your backups are in a subfolder of /data/media, like /data/media/0 most likely.
And in the future always keep a copy of your backups on your PC

i tried recovery but it does nothing im trying to set up adb but it just makes no sense to me at all its almost like the computer doesnt even see the phone i know it has to be something simple as to why i cant access the files from clockwork recovery but for the life of me i cant figure it out
Download Google Nexus 7 Toolkit V3.2.0
choose option "9. Download, Extract + Flash Google Factory Stock Rom and follow the instructions..
i had the exact same problem with my nexus 7 and this worked like a charm
hope it helps.
Thanks for the help but I fixed the problem. I let it boot to the setup screen where it kept saying setup wizard has stopped. From there I could recognize the device on a computer and transfer files over even though it read grouper on full android and not nexus 7. Now I'm on eclipse and it seems to be working great but I'm going to get rid of clockwork and install twrp just so I can hopefully not have that happen again. One weird thing though when I look for my backup I made prior to all of this and even the paranoid android ROM and gapps I can't find them anywhere on my SD card its like they literally vanished.

Where did you copy the files to? I have the same thing. The only folders I have are: Alarms, android, carbon, clockworkmod, dcim, digital editions, download, mobile systems, movies music notifications pictures podcasts and ringtones?
Unless there is a wy for it to be an actual drive right now it shows up as a music device in my computer.
when you did a wipe did you wipe all data? I know when I went to flash a ROM I wiped data like I did with my bolt and it erased everything on my n7.

Hi guys, I hope this thread is still active...
I'm having the same problem here. I tried installing cyanogenmod onto my n7 and am now getting the same "unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped" message. I've tried wiping the data and rebooting, to no avail. I have the toolkit, but it won't recognize the tablet so I can't reboot from there. I have a backup on my PC, but can't get to it! Sigh...
Thanks in advance for the help

HTF do i sideload a zip onto my g2?

im in recovery with sideload selected.
D:\S\Downloads\CWM-D802-Recovery-Unofficial.zip is the location of the file and obvs the file I want to side load.
What do I need to type into adb on my laptop to get it to push the app across so I can install it?
I have the official CWM and it doesn't support usb storage - the slimkat file I downloaded was corrupt and I have downloaded another copy but cannot get it to my device... im now stuck in bootloop until it goes back to CWM itself.
I would really really appreciate if someone can help with getting the file onto the phone without having to waste another 2 hrs downloading the 2gb file needed to factory restore back to stock. and then going through the rooting process again etc
cheers brett
I know its a quick bump but I really wanna get my phone turned back on.

Deleted os , computer cant see phone, last ditch effort.

So I moved onto a new phone once I screwed up my phone a couple months ago, but if I can save it in a way that would be cool. Basically right now it has no os and no backup, but I can still go to twrp. I had issues with the usb being recognized to my computer even when the phone worked, I don't believe I can get my computer to see my phone, even though it charges though it. Doesn't help that the usb port is loose. So I just wanna see if there is any way I can get my computer to see my phone to get it running again.
hav u tried changing the usb port on the phone and or use different cable or pc!!!

Like try to take the phone apart and replace it? No, I did try various cord on two pcs, no dice.
You will have to ADB Fastboot and then flash a ROM
what about a USB otg drive? load up OS files and flash from TWRP
I suppose that is the last thing to try, I'll order one today.
If you can get your 6P to recognize a USB-OTG device after mounting OTG in TWRP then you can save a ROM and GAPPS to your OTG device and flash it from TWRP.

Update
So I got my otg-usb was able to see the storage device in recovery. However I was having trouble flashing a rom, well more specifically I couldn't flash a vendor img. But eventually I installed the latest twrp, and was able to install a vendor img and rom, and I was able to get it running I'm so happy!! Thank you for the otg suggestion,I thought this phone was a paper weight.
