Is it possible to compile an AOSP Rom for our Galaxy Y.
If so can any developer compile and post it.

As we don't have the source of broadcom.. after broadcom release their source we will be able to port all type rom including cm.

Even then i think AOSP won't be possible for SGY. Hardware Limitations.

I think someone could compile AOKP/AOSP. For HTC Explorer (in my opinion has a hadware with similar limitations) there are four major Roms so far: CM9, CM10, AOKP and Pacman.
CM9 has known bugs and AOKP either, so we will wait to have Broadcom drivers and we'll see! Until then wait ...

I see a aosp or aokp rom on galaxy ace.. but the hardware of ace is almost same as y.

nothing is impossible,
before even users said "SGMini can't handle ICS" but on febuary (correct me if im wrong) 2012 they released a developed Stock ICS for mini,
nothing is impossible,
the question lies on how do we get there and what steps we need to follow,

I have worked on alot of phones like htc explorer,ace,mini and my beloved Y and I know that we can run AOSP easily!
I hope you guys know that cm is BASED ON AOSP!!
Even if we dont have sources to compile, we can port the aosp roms from other phones and make them work easily!

we can do it now but we can't have a stable version yet though,
pretty soon we'll have the driver sources and kickstart on major developments

Everyone of devs were there once .. don't use noob word please.. read my 2nd post in guide to know y..
If you sit and watch.. you will be there only.. read guides.. learn.. and before you know it.. you will know a lot.. telling from experience mate.. I have read every thread I have subscribed and every posts of that threads.. I have 250+ threads subscribed.. so read to learn
You will be the one to develop aosp then!!

Hey guys, this is kind of a silly question knowing that the two devices (i9500 and i9505) have different processors and graphic cards but is it even possible to port the i9505 custom roms to the i9500?
Developer Question: How hard would it be if possible to port it and how hard would it be to make the rom compatible for both devices?

i guess its possible
compatibility might not be a big issue cause u r just going to port apps,media frameworks and lib files
But u can only port ofiicial 4.2.2 based roms of i9505 to i9500

I would say it's nearly impossible, as i9500 and i9505 had different processors, camera sensor, GPU etc. Talking about processors, the Exynos 5 Octa and Snapdragon 600 is a big difference. Those ROM files like lib.so and framework files had already built in for their hardware.
However, I remebered that someone wants to port HTC One ROM to Galaxy S3 International version (Exynos 4 Quad), it worked. But with lots of lots of bugs including lags. When he gaveup he finally stated that it's hard to port ROMs on different hardwares.

BBM is already available on Android and has been for a few months
It requires android 4 or above AND your phone must be armv7
Galaxy y is armv6
The app cannot be ported as the libs used are for armv7
The only people with the source codes to make an armv6 version is Blackberry
Please stop spamming xda with requests for bbm for galaxy y and go contact Blackberry instead

Dude, the star has a 1ghz processor, Mali300 GPU, and 512MB of RAM. WAAAAAAAY better specs than sgy

Okay with that we'll add a ramdisk from note 3 and yeah also Broadcom has released wireless charging chipset we'll include that and also make the processor quad core like s3 is it fine now satisfied???

Hey 4.4.2 sammy custom rom will be possible for s2 and note 1 without quad core processor......and ramdisk from note 3....

The Galaxy Mega 5.8 will get kitkat soon and it has the same CPU of the Grand.

I can not install the CWM recovery, when odin finish and shows "PASS!" the device boot in to android system stock recovery mode
any idea why?
my androis is 4.2.2 official
