Is any one in here waiting to preorder the tab pro 12.2? Amazon has the 32gb in black up for preorder but still doesn't say when its going to be available. The white one is still not up for preorder yet though.

Ordered one yesterday. B&H Photos stated about mid-March which might make sense: one month of Note Pro sales, first. Rumors are the Verizon version of Note Pro will be released on March 6. I'm hoping for mid-March--or sooner, of course.
Just got a tracking number from amazon. Looks like it will be here tomorrow march 5th. I used 2 days prime shipping.

Seriously so soon? It is only a pre-order even as of today.
It's still showing pre-order on amazon. But somehow, they sent me a tracking number for it. I'll update it once I get it tomorrow.
Mine still shows "preparing for shipment, " but since Samsung just announced March 9 release, it may change soon. I'm also Prime. Ordered March 3 early in the day EDT. It shows in my orders, but I didn't get an order confirmation email.
6:30 PM EDIT: Just received a text that the tablet (+ micro sd card I ordered this morning) shipped for delivery Friday. No email nor amazon.com showing either has shipped-yet.

Shipped through Philadelphia early AM. ETA (south central FL) tomorrow.
Amazon still lists as "not yet released."
Now I wait for root.
@sic_lic1o1, did you get yours yesterday? You probably did and are too busy playing with it in any spare time to get back to the forum.
Yes I did receive mine yesterday. Got home late from work so I didn't have enough time to play with it much but I snapped a few shots of the tablet. I always like the big size tablet. The first thing I checked was the build quality, dead pixels and light bleed. So far I haven't found anything wrong with the tablet yet. There's not any noticeable light bleed compare to my Samsung galaxy 2014 special edition. There's also no lag so far for me.
It's a beaut all right. Thanks for sharing. Mine (my son 's, really) got to Louisville, KY. Amazon still shows not released.

Ours arrived today, but I'm sending for a replacement. There's a row of dead pixels (possible dust as it is horizontally linear--about the size of 3-4 pixels) in the upper left quadrant but closer to the center. In that skyline picture on your last pic, it's just above the pointed spire so not in a very inconspicuous spot.
Once you find those things, your mind can't "unfind" them. It shows on every pixel test screen and on every other screen. I guess it was our turn--over a dozen devices in the past three years and this is the first with the issue. Otherwise, everything about the tablet is what we were hoping for.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully Amazon will overnight it to you. I like the size so far, its a lil heavy but I don't hold it much. Mine does have some backlight bleeding when i used the backlight bleeding app to test it . But nothing major compare to my note 10.1 special edition.

Thanks. Yep, Amazon overnight. We don't live anywhere near Best Buy (55 miles) which also does easy exchanges, so Amazon gets our business most of the time. Before I mentioned 12 devices. It's actually been 16. Our first tablets were Pandigital Novels. This is the first Android devices that probably won't get rooted. Now I'm supposedly thinking about the 8.4 for myself.

I just ordered from Staples and will deliver tomorrow.
I don't know why bestbuy doesn't has it. I ordered the Tab at BB back in July as pre-order.
Yeah, Future Shop and Best Buy have screwed the pooch on this. I just bought mine yesterday from The Source. I hear Staples also has them (try calling them). I bought mine in store (guy had to bring it out from the back so make sure you ask). You can check in store availability online at thesource.ca.
Once the first delay happened I just crossed the border and bought mine in the U.S.
I'm glad I did.

Me too, especially since the 32Gb model isn't coming here at all, it seems. And they're all "Emasculating White" as well.
Picked mine up at Staples in Vancouver a week ago, super nice, feels awesome in-hand in portrait and landscape, already looking forward to next years quad-core and inevitably higher res model.

Too funny, I would have preferred a "Super Manly" coloured back panel as well, fortunately I'm always looking at the screen with it's dark and ominous background picture
I bought mine from Staples two days ago. I'm not using any case, and it feels great in hands. However I bought the Samsung Book case from the Source today. It's a nice case but too expensive ($65+tax). Going to a meeting next week, and don't want to walk around with a flashy GT without a case.
Mine just arrived yesterday, ordered from ncix.com on Wednesday.
Anyone else found we don't have access to the 3.2/Touchwiz UX update yet?
they are in canada. The odd thing though, they seem to be a lot different from the US model.
Also, they haven't appeared to have brought the 32gb version or the metallic grey.
I use mine in canada, but bought the 32gb grey model from best buy in the US so i could have faster updates and the US apps and what not.
Samsung Bookcase $54.99 TheSource !

Order Online:
Temporarily Out of Stock: usually ships in 6-7 business days. 94 units available for back order. Limited Quantities available.
Black model listed.
Future Shop showing as being available in-store (back order online)
If you want the white back then go to Staples or The Source (touchwiz installed).
At least the Source is carrying a case. What's missing though is the usb connection kit. I am hoping that shows up soon or I'll buy off ebay. Tigerdirect.ca was showing 32gb models in stock as a combo with the docking port for $680, but I was a bit skeptical. I asked their online sales guys and they confirmed it was in stock. I thought it was a mistake they posted this on their canadian website and sure enough, 2 days later there is no mention at all of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on the Tigerdirect.ca website. I really like my Tablet, but I would rather spend $100 more and have double the storage capacity since the device is already 'expansion neutered'. The Canadian market is being manipulated for some reason, did other non-us regions get only 16gb as well? I was considering the Toshiba Thrive, but that tablet has bad screen ghosting like the Xoom. It's also kinda ugly... but then it has all the ports you could want... The bad thing about all these android tablets is the lack of accessories carried in the stores.. I mean, how can you launch the Galaxy Tab in Canada and stores like staples don't even have 1 accessory for it. They don't even have accessories for the Transformer (their stock case is horrible btw)....
Rob
How is text entry on forums like this one and redflagdeals with the 10.1?
I returned a transformer as it was rather poor thought I'd have to wait for Tegra 3?

These units should come with touchwiz already installed. Is 3.2 even available at all from Samsung?
Rob
After having checked, it does look like I have touchwiz, but not 3.2.
I have seen them at The Source in Square One mall in Mississauga. I was looking for the book case but they were sold out. The Best Buy's I've checked have the display material out but not the actual tabs, the salesguys all say it got delayed. Weird.

Supply seems to be rather limited at the moment. Both of the staples stores here in Regina only got 2 each. We have 4 Source stores and they seemed to only get 2 in each as well. I really like the tablet, but I'm still annoyed by the lack of accessories (no one has usb adapters) and not having the 32gb model available.

It's fine as long as you disable auto correction and auto completion in Swype. Also Swype seems to be more prone to sluggish text entry than the stock keyboard. And Google Instant Search appears to slow things down, so disable that.
I bought a 10 " inch screen 8 gigabyte version of the A500 Iconia from Best Buy. Seems to be ether a new model or one only made for Best Buy. I haven't gotten it in yet through the mail. I wonder if it will have the same specs as the 16GB model(aside from the memory of course)....and the same quality.
They sell the 8gb version at Costco too. Once the sold out of the 32gb they pulled that in.
Sent from my ADR6300
how much. hopefully u didn't pay 16gb price.
it was $220. i got one too.
As of last week, the 8Gb was 350 at Costco here in the Seattle area. Came with a sort of weak free case.
Congrats on the purchase. I picked one up from Best Buy as well. Now if they'd get around to shipping it, I'd be even happier.
The two things that have been noticed on this one is the lack of mention of GPS anywhere (though many of us are hopeful that it has GPS) and that power indicates 110 whereas all other models indicate 110/220.
Haven't seen anything else yet so now we're all waiting for our units to arrive to begin the fun.
Hi guys,
I got one too.. I hope they start shipping soon.
Here is the link for acer site for this tab: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/XE.H8RPN.005
GPS is not mentioned in any of the versions of A500 tabs.
pretty sure they all have GPS. plenty of threads exist with a500 users having wifi only models and using GPS. just make sure to apply all the GPS tweaks
a stock a500 isnt quite as hot as a tweaked out a500. earl reviews of the stock item at the original retail price were just OKAY at best. but if you tweak the little it turns into quite the little tablet.

say what? i have a wifi only version(a500) and it has gps. no tweaks needed. i doubt these 8gb versions have gps. official acer site and best buy have no mention of gps at all.
can anyone that actually has one in hand check? what a total bummer if it didnt.
this is the same a500 model as any of the other a500 models, with only 8gb. every a500 has built-in gps, just like every samsung galaxy tab 10.1 has gps. you dont need to have the 3G (a501) model to have gps.
the acer website doesnt list ANY of the 8/16/32 or 501 models as having GPS at all, so you can't go by that.
The 8gb one I bought at Costco has gps. I'm going to return it though because I decided to get a 32gb one from Tigerdirect for $400. 8gb just wasn't getting it done with Honeycomb's inability to move apps and data to the sdcard like Gingerbread. I was using almost all of the internal memory and I only had 8 of my games installed. Those Gameloft games need a lot of memory.

I got the 32GB one from costco for a similar price, $350 + tax. But if you can get bestbuy's price at $220, it might worth it.
its 429 plus tax at costco... did you use some kind of coupon?
The $229 8gb Acer A500 at Best Buy was a Cyber Monday deal that actually sold out by early Sunday morning. I think I saw "normal" pricing referred to as $380. I was lucky enough to snag one of the Cyber Monday tablets, but even though they say 0-1 day to ship, it is still "in process" and has not shipped yet.

I'm going to assume that means business days. It should be ready to ship today but who knows what the details are. Best Buy may not have them and are awaiting shipment from Acer which would explain why they weren't available immediately for store pickup (which was set at 5-7 days).
Hoping for the best as I'd like to get my hands on this tablet and start playing with it.
Has anyone emailed them asking about estimated shipping date? I need to have this by 10th Dec. Has anyone bought from Best Buy before? How much time does the shipment take to arrive at CA after dispatch?
I got an email on Tuesday that it was being shipped. I ordered it on Sunday, with 2-day shipping(not ground, not next day) and It will be here tomorrow (Wednesday).
From what I've read, it does NOT have a GPS in it. I'll have to find my sources, but if you google the SKU, it's a special, Best-Buy only device (from what I could find).
PS--logged in for the first time in like 2 years to make this post. (and to get my hands dirty again)

I ordered Noon-ish on Sunday, and it said "processing, 0-1 days..blah blah" until about noon EST today (tuesday).
Yes, it gave me a tracking number, and the original order (with 2-day shipping) said EXPECTED DELIVERY: Nov 30-Dec 1. UPS shows it as on time, Nov 30 by the end of the day.
EDIT--it does say it shipped on the 28th, even though I didn't get an email or tracking number until mid-day the 29th.

Lucky basterd! I ordered mine on Sunday at around 2:30am. Yeah that early, I don't know why I was still up that late lol. Mine still says order is being fulfilled or something like that so I the order hasn't been processed but it does let me cancel it anymore. The estimated dates I have are earliest Dec. 1 and latest Dec. 8
Yeah the folks over at slickdeals who bought the tab are all arguing on if it has GPS or not and if it has a flash mem or a micro hard drive. HAHA! I can understand the GPS debate, but the other one is just plain stupid.
And the tab does have GPS:
http://tablet-news.com/2011/10/01/a...d&utm_campaign=Feed:+TabletNews+(Tablet+News)
http://www.wirelessgoodness.com/201...ersion-of-its-iconia-tab-a500-android-tablet/
Excited to get mine and hopefully soon!
EDIT: And none of the A500 tabs on acer's official website list anything about GPS, but they obviously do so I would assume that this one does too.
Hope this helps!
I noticed some merchants have the Tab 2 7.0 price dropping below $199...
(as shown on Google Shopping search results)
Is this because a new one(Tab 3 7.0) is coming out
or is this in response to Nexus 7? Or both?

nevermind... I was wrong... can't seem to find any Tab 2 7.0
being discounted at all... are are still the same price as before.
(at least at the normal reputable retailers)
Question already answered...
Microcenter had them for $199.99 (P3113). I picked one up last Saturday. Now I can't find even one at any location.
Yeah, I picked up this tablet at Microcenter. I was actually very fortunate, because I went to Fry's first and they didn't have it. So I called Microcenter and they happened to be selling it on $199 and they had 180ish in stock. I love the tablet very much and my father seemed as well, so I went and got him another one two weeks later. They only had a few in stock though.
I don't think they are going down in price. Microcenter was the only well-known store I saw selling it on a discount ,and it was only because it's on sale right now Actually the sale seems to have extended another two weeks, but it seems to be selling regular price everywhere else. There are other places under Google>Shopping selling it for cheaper too, but it depends on if you feel comfortable shopping somewhere without much of a reputation...
Microcenter will discount things other retailers won't for short periods of time. Usually you have to be in the right place, at the right time, or be willing to take a chance and drive to one quickly when you here they have a special. Store stock on their web site means little as they can sell 50 in an hour if it hits the net that one store "has stock" of whatever specials they offer.
I like the fact that Tab 2 has an SD slot, but with the ability to use an OTB USB cable with the 7, this becomes less of an issue.
My Tab 2 died yesterday. It will be on it's way back to Samsung for repair. Let's see how this goes...If I had it to do all over again, I would have skipped the Tab 2 for the 7 even if they were the same price.
For folks who live near Expo Electronics in New Jersey.... I bought two from them for $205+tax last week. $5 more than MicroCenter's $199, but I don't have any MicroCenters near me.
As the title says, check the December issue of Consumer Reports. Tab S and Tab Pro both got a score of 86. IPad mini 83, Nexus 7 81. However, the CR Best Buys are the Amazon Kindle (78) and EVGA tegra Note 7 (78) as they were at least $100 cheaper then either Tab S or Pro.
I'd choose Pro over S because AMOLED is too warm (4300k vs 5700k) and AMOLED is prone to burn.
You'd probably find a OnePlus One easier than a Galaxy Pro Tab these days..
Man, I picked up my PRO for $250 at Best Buy and they had plenty still in stock. At $250, this is absolutely a steal.

Bought mine last week when I returned the Nexus 9 I had been trying out.
Lots of stock both black and white in the Naples store.
This might mean we will see a further price drop and with my bill saying returns now can be made until Jan 15th 2015 I guess that gives us a price match until Jan 15th as per their policy.
"If we lower our price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request."
Not sure if Black Friday would count anyone know?
Bought mine this week for 249 euros in France.
Upgrading from Note 8 running the excellent SlimKat ROM.
489 euros for the Nexus 9 32gb was way too pricey
379 euros for Z3 Compact 32gb was pricey too, and there isn't a lot of dev on Sony's Tablets, even if they are good.
Galaxy Tab S was an option but Exynos/3gb vs Snapdragon 800/2gb... Snapdragon wins, sorry for AMOLED

Confirmed the Tab pro 8.4 is on sale black friday for $199.99 with Best Buy also some other Samsung tablets
http://blackfriday.bestbuy.com/?category=doorbusters5&filter=&brand=Samsung
I have found out that they don't price match to Black Friday deals, some purchasers however who bought in the last week get until Jan 15th to return so its a case of buying another one and return it with your previous bill to save $50.00

It's hardly to tell the difference between 2GB and 3GB RAM except you open a lot of app at a time.
Tab Pro 8.4 design is based on Note 3 except cam and RAM, but CPU stays the same (same results as Antutu and Quadrant).

I picked mine up a few days ago from the Sarasota store
Just got one myself at Best Buy for $199... happy so far.
Got mine this morning from best buy in the villages. Sold my gpad for $180 and got this for $199, not to bad if I say so myself.
Picked up a brand-new Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 from Craig's List over the weekend for $170. The guy had posted it for $250, but after I pointed out that these are now on sale at Best Buy for $199 and I'd have very little reason to buy from him, he was quick to go down in price and I was able to get it down to $170. This tablet is a steal at that price! I replaced my 32GB Nexus 7 (2013) with this, and so far I've been very, very impressed. Fabulous screen and fast performance. This thing rocks! I really like a physical home button. The Nexus 7 lacks that, which I never got used to. Also, I actually kinda like the Touchwiz layer. It adds a lot of useful features. Plus I picked up a 64GB micro SD card on Cyber Monday for $25 for extra storage, also something that you can't do with the Nexus 7. I sold my Nexus 7 for just about what I paid for my Galaxy Tab Pro, so that's been a great swap!

i bought my GTPro 8.4 last Friday for 229, and thought I got it for a steal 9I mean i did, but that extra 30 left in my pocket would be nice LOL

Hi guys. I got an 8.4 at the BB $199 for Xmas. I am likely to return it unless someone can explain how to overcome my issues 1. Portrait mode the thumb activates the side app launcher and fonts are too small in the browser plus the bezels are too small. My complaints are standard I'm sure. I will likely return this and order a cube talk 9x 9.7 unless someone can show me how to use this

1. If you pull down from the top of your screen, swipe the little circles (Wi-Fi, location, sound, etc.) to the left until you see the multi window option. Click on it to turn it off. Now the side bar will not pop open.
2. Download Boat Browser for Tablet from the play store. In the settings, look at the page content setting. Then click on text scaling and set the font to a comfortable size. (There are a lot of features that make Boat Browser one of my favorites)
I personally like the smaller bezel and the 8.4 screen size. This tablet is a great deal for the price. Don't give up on it!

It seems so many sites do not respond to the browser settings. Even navigation bar suggestions use the sites' font. Any other options to use in this case e.g. bibliotecapleyades.net? That is very annoying. I'm coming from the 9.7 inch retina screen
I may keep plugging away with the 8.4 pro and resell on eBay if I can't adjust. I do like the single handed operability. The screen is bluish to me so I am running the blue filter app to warm it up
The multi window option is very convienent but lacks customizability. I may go with another ROM
Enjoy yours. And thanks!

In boat browser with my text scaling at 150%, I am able to read articles from the site you mentioned with no problem. I am also able to pinch zoom in on the page with all the links to see it better. Play with the settings to see what suits you.
If you root this tablet you can install the exposed framework which has a multi window module that let's you add any apps you want to the multi window function. I use it all the time.
I think the more you play with the features this tablet had to offer, the more it will grow on you
Yeah these fonts are getting to me. I mostly use apps not browser and they don't offer many option for text xposed framework has a mod to customize app scaling so when I figure out how to root the tab I'll try that

I am from the US and can't seem to find an online store that sells it. Is it possible to use the Asia or UK variant in the US? It's the perfect size for note taking at work and much more convenient with the built-in S Pen.

https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_US/product/samsung-galaxy-tab-a-8-sm-p205-3gb-32gb-lte-black-1.html
They also have the sm-p200 which I just ordered. Free shipping to US is hard to beat.
I believe they are in hong kong but the site is very US friendly with prices in dollars and they take paypal.
If you are asking about using cellular in the us I have not seen any reviews on that yet. The bands all look pretty familiar though.
I just went with wifi as I would rarely have a need for cellular on the tablet.

I would get the LTE version since I use it for work. I am concerned with the 4200 mAh battery. That's even less than the S10+ 5G in a much larger package.
I would happily pay $500 for this tablet:
8 inch & built-in S Pen
4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio
SD835 or better
4GB of RAM
64GB of UFS2.1
Did you recieve your order yet? I ordered the tablet from this site like two wks ago and I still havent got it. They told me they ran out and will restock in 5days so after I emailed them again after 5days but its been delayed for another wk apparently. Im running out of patient/trust so Idk if i should cancel or not. This is the only site that has a good price w/free shipping though
No I cancelled. Can't stand sites that sell things they do not have. I don't think anybody has it right now.

I too placed an order with TobyDeals and have been waiting for 3 weeks. The buying options right now are limited. I haven't seen any listings on eBay, Amazon, or Alibaba. There should be greater availability in the coming months.
My reality is that I am desperate. I've been using a Samsung tablet as my primary phone for the past decade. I was quite happy with my 2015 Tab A 8" until it broke 18 months ago. I've been waiting for the updated version of this tablet for a long time. In the interim, I bought a Tab S3. It was too big to be my daily driver. So I bought a Note 9 and have been using it. But it's too small. I am looking forward to enjoying the new Tab A 8". I know its the perfect size for me.
Anybody received the order yet? I ordered Wifi version sm-p200 from Toby almost two wks ago and it's still in process.
They told me they will restock in 3days, I will wait till Thursday and will resend email.
I've got a similar experience so far.
I ordered from them last Wednesday (5/22). Sent an email (to [email protected]) last night requesting a status on the order.
Got an email reply early this morning stating that they are currently out of stock and "more stock to arrive in the next 3 working days".

My order status has been updated from 'Processing' to 'Packing'.
Believe this is a good sign?
How's your status?

Same here.
Got an email this morning stating "We are currently packing your order and it will be leaving our warehouse shortly! "
Mine just came today. So far so good, only the camera is a little disappointing.

You got it from Toby? My SM-P200 is on the way via DHL.
Does it look like brand new to you? (no sign of refurbished or any?)
Toby has the lowest price and it makes me worried.

Mine just arrived too!
So that makes it 2 days after their email letting me know that it had been dispatched from their warehouse.
I'm at work right now, so I'll give it a closer inspection once I get home later.
I got mine through a seller on ebay. It seemed sketchy but after confirming his paypal email was correct and matched his little online shop I decided to give it a shot.
Took about a week from Israel, but it did hit new york during memorial day weekend so it sat there for 3 days.
He does have more if anyone wants to try (pm for his contact info), but toby deals is probably cheaper and faster IF they have stock.

So I ordered the SM-P200 from tobydealsau.com on May 22 and it arrived yesterday. Happy it did not take as long as others have reported -- I was a little nervous after I saw what others experienced.
It arrived well packed and the box was well sealed. As far as I can tell it looks brand new and genuine. The box was sealed and the serial numbers on the box and on the device matched.
It came with a European usb power supply, but included an adapter for US.
So far it is working as expected.

How's the performance? I do a lot of split screen with YouTube and Chrome. My concern is that the 3 GB of RAM is not sufficient.
Was looking at buying the 10.1, but it was just too big. Glad I didn't pull the trigger, I would MUCH prefer the 8.0 especially with s-pen. Any guesses if this comes to the US officially?

@KevinN206 I rarely do split screen on mine, so I really don't have any expectations as to the performance in that situation.
But comparing it to my older SM-T380, I can see a noticeable performance upgrade.
