Trying for ages to get this app working again. Its worked in 3.1/3.4 when it was stock. In the past this app didnt worked when a device rooted. But manny ppl complained because of this, because there are manny non-brands tablets on the market which are somehow rooted already, and those ppl cant watch TV on the Ziggo TV App.
So the latest version on Play Store should work rooted devices. I heard on some other forum ( http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1471962/4 ) that it was working on 4.3 Katkiss.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.ziggo.android.tv&hl=en
I installed Katkiss 4.4.2 and it force closes when i want to start tv channel/stream. Same for Omnirom (unofficial for TF101) 4.4.2, doesnt work either. As same for disableing superuser/root.
Is there somewhere a way to debug or test this app to get it working or a push in the right direction to look at?
p.s.: you can only watch ziggo tv streams on this if you are on the Ziggo cable provider.
This MAY be similar to the problem Netflix has on the tf101. If you can post the error report, we may be able to build an Xposed module like the one for Netflix.

Has this ever been succesful? I have the same problem for my UPC Horizon TV app
Like Maarten I'm having trouble to get the UPC Horizon app to work on Katkiss 4.4.4 #30 for my Transformer TF101
I can't test the app for Ziggo because that won't work, but because Ziggo is incorporated by UPC I think that the app will be almost the same.
So solving trouble for the Ziggo app possible would solve the trouble for the UPC Horizon app aswell.
There is an xposed module that is suppose to solve the problem, but no luck at my end. I'm having the same problem with the Film1 go-app, by the way. Small trailers work, but streaming a film: no luck

Hi,
Yeah there are some discussions on the other forum about this app. To me it looks like HW-acceleration isn't used/set, that makes video unwatchable and stutter. It's the same as viewing a (HD) video when using the default (Android) player instead of MX-Player with (forced?) HW-acceleration.
I did already posted feedback to Ziggo, but no response so far. Ziggo gives out a Galaxy Tab4 (7 inch) to new consumers, they aren't also that powerful compairing to our tab, right?
With the latest Horizon Go app I have no problem other than a forced close when closing the app. Streaming works fine. Im running cm10.2

is there a honeycomb working version that works on the 10.1 retail? if not, what is the issue that disables it? im trying to get around it but cannot find an apk that is known to work or have potential.
Netflix wont work on honeycomb yet. Something to do with the change in the way honeycomb processes video, or something like that. I believe that might also be why no video player was supplied with the stock rom

Moving to General
Just got my A500 via Staples mail order. Using the stock browser, I tried to catch up on my Falling Skies via XfinityTV with no success. Instead of a show, I got a message to install Microsoft Silverlight plug-in.
One of the reasons I got a tab is to be able to watch shows online when I'm stuck waiting for family at rehearsals, etc. I already have an e-reader and a video player, so this is the gap I need to cover.
Is this possible? Do I need a different browser? Or am I outta luck?
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: In case anybody else is interested in this, Comcast "thinks" that the Xfinity android app will be updated to allow actual tv episode watching in a couple of months. Apple took precedence and they will eventually finish working on it for Android. Meanwhile, their app is good for controlling your DVR remotely, which is useless for me, which is why I tried to watch through the browser. Which is why I ended up posting here.
As far as I know there isn't any silverlight support for android yet. There was a project called moonlight that was supposedly going to bring silverlight to android but I did not hear anything new about it for the past 6 months, so I assume it is dead.
time to start calling and complaining.

To whom? It's hardly Acers or Google's fault that these sites decided to use a Windows only technology for their media streaming.
HBOGo on A500 works.
And given that HBOGo app streams video in H.264, the stream from the website is higher quality.
I am using Dolphin Browser
Did you install the app (from where, I don't see it in market) or do you just navigate to hbo dot com via browser? Thanks.

Just use the stock browser (or others), go to hbogo.com and sign in. It works that easy.

Almost. If you're on honeycomb 3.1, you need to go into your browser's settings and set the viewing mode to "desktop." If you're still on 3.0, you will need to set your browser to debug mode to enable desktop UA string.
Though really, you will want to watch on 3.1 because supposedly it gets better video performance with Flash.
And if some of the online shows require real player how do you watch that since
the extension is .smil and android real player can't open that to play.
Trying to run hbogo on stock browser along with dolphin opera and Firefox all a nogo has laggy video audio is great but picture very slow running 3.2 stock rom but these sites only run when in desktop mode tablet mode not an option any have a working apk version to install and see if we can get it working or some good setting for the browser

Greetings everyone, this is my first post. I found this comment and recalled seeing this on a blog of Jeffrey Steadfast who was developing that:
Jeffrey Stedfast said... Liam,
Unfortunately there's no update. We've been so focused on fixing bugs and implementing new features for MonoTouch and Mono for Android we just haven't had time to look at Moonlight anymore.

I would think that more or less confirms your thought that it might be dead.

It seems strange that the best use case for these apps (Honeycomb tablets) seems to be the least developed... It seems especially strange that Netflix has the compatibility in place, but won't update the market's compatible apps so the app shows up when searching the market on a tablet.
Maxgo works well from the full site in flash. HBOGo however studders too much in flash to be usable. Like all here, I would appreciate a native app for Android supported on the Xoom. This continues to be a stick upon which Apple fanbois can use to continue beating upon us.
I just updated my stock ROM (manually checked), and I'm VERY EXCITED to report that Netflix now works! Thank you ASUS!

I'm pretty pumped about this. I live in Vietnam and pay for a VPN service (StrongVPN). Might be worth your while if you like netflix as much as I do. I'm happy to report netflix works for me now.
Strange, it won't work for me. I still have it installed from when it was briefly available a month or so back, but it still says my device isn't supported, won't stream, won't update, and won't find it in the market to re-download. That's with the FOTA that was just released in the US this morning.
...and keyboard lag is maybe slightly better, but still noticeable.
where did you guys download netflix program? I can not find it on the market.
I too cannot find it in the market...any hints on where you found it?
As for using Netflix from outside the US, I'm in the VI, I've used Hide My Ass VPN to get Netflix and other services that wouldn't let us stream content since we aren't in the US for quite some time with excellent results. I even posted instructions on how to get a Linksys E3000 router to connect to the service so all clients appear to be cominig from the states on my blog at Blendblog.net. Hope this helps!

I wonder if hbo go will work now. Anyone have a current .apk?
This is great!
Just before i left to work this morning, i noticed there was an update notification. Left it running as i headed out. (now wishing i had brought the damn thing..lol)
Yup, a friend/co-worker downloaded the update and his Netflix is now working. Can't want to get home and try mine. This may be the nail in the Galaxy Tab 10.1's coffin... Netflix was the only thing that was keeping me from returning the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and keeping the Transformer.
Confirmed. Working on mine, and looks great. Man, Asus rocks.

Hi I recently got the 2013 Samsung 8 series TV and was wondering if there is a way to enable all share cast on the nexus 10 for screen mirroring? I have this feature on my siii given its also a Samsung device
Looking around the inter web information is a little vague and conflicting!
Thanks
Dan

For screen mirroring you will need a miracast capable device. Initially the Nexus 10 was supposed to have miracast, but I doesn't (to my knowledge).
You can stream videos and pictures to your tv over WiFi using apps like imedia or bubbleUPnP. (or any dlna player)

I believe it has the capability of doing so hardware-wise, but the settings for it aren't enabled or visible. I think the memory bus or something would be a limitation due to having to push 2560x1600, but perhaps we can just change the resolution (there's some HDMI command thing found recently that does this) and use that?
Yea, wished we could enable it.
I have a netgear ptv3000 receiver. Works well with my dad's Note II.

thanks for the replies.
To give some more background, until very recently i was running XBMC on a win8 front room PC and Yatse on the nexus 10.
the joy was that if i was watching videos on the nexus i could hit Share/Send to Yatse and the XBMC would automatically start playing the stream for me on the TV.
thats the functionality i am looking for.
A lot that I have seen on the play store are simply players in their own right which if i look at my usage is not what i want.
ideally the right app would sit in the background as a service and catch any source (you tube, pictures, music, mxplayer or any where else I can press share/send to)
has anyone seen anything like this ?
at this point i am less interested in screen mirroring as such (until i want to play need for speed on the big tv!!)...
thanks
Dan.

Don't forget, this will allow either the nexus 10, your pc, or a home server to stream media to your tv through WiFi . You just have to make sure the settings in your tv are on for dlna and that your tv is connected to your network.

Yes It Can!?
Initially it was said that N10 would support Miracast
Then we were told neither N7 or N10 would support it.
Now Miracast has been enabled and working for N7, see
ht tp s://github .com/kensuke/ How-to-Miracast-on-AOSP/wiki and ht tp://w ww. you tube.com/watch?v=KNEmaIr3FEg
Even though Kensuke warned about trying it I went ahead and installed the non-tested OTA package for N10
I did not experience any loops as he was afraid of, no errors at all and it seems stable.
The OTA package seems stable but Miracast may or may not work.
I do have "Wireless display" in the menu now. I also believe searching for miracast receiver was working the first time I booted the tablet. Unfortunately I didnt have a miracast receiver nearby then and when I got home it seemed like I had lost the possibility to search for receivers.
I still have "Wireless Display" in the menu though.
Just spreading the word. Maybe and hopefully someone smarter then me would be able to make use of the patch :fingers-crossed:
