Changes in 4.3 Z1 [unofficial release notes]

Other than what AOSP 4.3 has to offer, Sony has done stream of improvements in 4.3:
1. New “Xperia Themes”: End-to-end theme that lets you style 200+ UI elements from navigation bar background to toggle buttons. The Theme packs are downloadable packs from Sony Select (more themes and Sony Ericsson style theme maker coming soon).

Mail app: Push support for all accounts. Now supports gmail accounts.
Settings: a new added option in power management -- Checkbox of Queue background data.
Accessibility: One handed keyboard
5. Camera app:
- Slightly better noise control,
- Slightly faster autofocus, less focus hunting issues.
- Camera shutter sound changed.
- iAuto shoots in 20.7 MP (only in Vodafone UK FTF)
6. Ringtones: Few new ringtones/notification sounds. (from AOSP 4.3)
7. Baseband update:
- Better Wifi reception (confirmed)
- LTE improvements (unconfirmed)
8. UI improvements:
- Black (translucent) Notification drawer,
- Better UI contrast overall.
9. OpenGL 3.0 ES (AOSP 4.3)
10. Misc:
- Option for mass storage mode / MTP, under USB connectivity in settings.
- Less overheating issues after continuous gaming.
- BLE (Bluetooth 4.0) support
- Auto brightness toggle in Brightness dialog
- Phone settings: Audio enhancements for calling
- Windows 8.1 tethering via bluetooth without extra settings
- Improved battery life

The triflat theme is awesome!!! First I thought these themes were gimmicks but I see a lot of potential here . Great way to customize your phone.

I knew Sony would some how be the first to introduce a decent theming framework. GO SONY!
I had slight doubts about Sony being my next phone, I'm glad I bought my Xperia Z1 now. (I miss Multi-view a bit but Small Apps is making up for it)

i remember there was a way to take back the nfc icon.....who can help me? i have an UK Z1...but after flashing nordic fw, the nfc icon disappeared!!!

possibly the best feature of 4.3 update, mybe now people will stop feeling z1 wifi is weaker than other phones (which is not btw, almost same as my laptop... and my laptop has intel n6300 which is a great wifi card with 3 antennas)

Now you can add a wallpaper to the conversations in messaging. Not sure if this was there before 4.3.

we can probably dig up the google 4.3 change list and we should be able to find some basic changes from 4.2 to 4.3

Now the Small Apps can be minimized when we move them to the right side of the screen

hope the new baseband will fix cellular signal problem. turning on and off mobile data sometimes cause a sudden loss of cellular signal on my C6903 with baseband 22, and only can be restored by rebooting.

You need a Smartband for that. App will only count time that you have spent in apps, or taking pictures. No motion whatsoever.

Hey,first thank u for this great porting,but I have a problem! The app smart connect does not recognize the smartband. I'll leave you some screenshot. If I turn off the bluetooth I can see the message ''reconnect with nfc''..I have a stock rom 4.3.3

Just using this app is no use , it need to download LiveWare™ manager, and lifelog app
but when you connect the smartband using NFC on 4.3 device, Liveware manager will said it needs 4.4 firmware

I think there is no way for 4.3 device to work, because it needs 4.4 features
The only way to work is to use custom 4.4 rom on the old phone
It is working when I use custom 4.4 rom on my old Xperia V
But it is not stable, so finally I brought Z2

Any news I will buy Xperia M, which has both NFC and BT4.0 and I would love to work on it.

i do manually cleared the cache.

there is a bug i think. when i chose resolution in front camera, it reversed 4:3 to 16:9 and 16:9 to 4:3
P/S : it's ok now. edit 1 line in smali file and it display ok now

i think so. i'm using TX 4.3 and got difficult to focus, i have to touch many times

Aspect Ratio is working perfectly on My Xperia M.. But if I using Touch Focus on Superior Auto after take picture is Stopped & Touch Capture too.. Please fix it

take your own time bro. i most likely capture with vol buttons and it has no problems to capture the pic. :good:

Best camera app. focus is a bit slow but not too worry that much.
Is there timeshift video app port for XSP 4.3. I could not find it. Can you port.

This theme doesn't change app icons, I use Icon-Changer (no root)
install instructions:
install like any apk and apply in Themes (4.4.2+) for 4.3 same, but you need root and superuser mod or patched services.jar to make it work
For noobs:
How to apply themes?
1st method: long press (or like zoom out) in Xperia™ Home > Themes > choose which you want and press "apply"
2nd method: Settings > Personalization > Xperia™ Themes > choose which you want and press "apply"

What do you think why the title is 4.3+?
1 my themes are only compatible with 4.3+ and 4.2.2 stock Xperia rom had no Xperia theme engine...

Maybe in google play sometimes... But I can't name it "LG G3 theme for Xperia" because Sony is very strict when it's no official theme...
Black is not really possible, because I can't change the text color in settings...

For additional apps, some needs xperia framework so it won't be installed.
But for Walkman, Album, Movies, Live Wallpapers are universal so they can be installed in any version of android (4.2+)
I've tested them on Samsung, Sony, LG and they work fine.
Which one do you try to install?

Sorry but you need Sony camera framework to install camera add ons which I can't provide you now. Later I'll googling for it and let's hope I'll find them

very! very! strange permissions are in WALKMAN ...
