I have 4.4 custom rom and i see that kernel drain 40% of battery
i use Mahdi ROM 4.4
All the 4.4 ROMs use a tweaked 4.1 kernel that generally makes the phone run hot and suffer from battery drain. The good news is that the 4.3 Sony kernel will help developers improve this.

Hi. I'm running CM10.1 stable because I don't have much time to test the latest nightlies and need a stable phone. Everything works ok, but battery doesn't seem to last as much as it did when I had the stock ROM (Google's 4.3 ROM).
I wanted to try Franco Kernel to see if it helps with battery. Has anyone tried it with CM10.1 stable (Android 4.2.2)? It should work accoding to the Franco Kernel thread, but I wanted someone to confirm if it actually does, and maybe hear some opinions. Thanks!

Ah, thanks. Do you think it helps with battery life? Also, I should flash these ones, right?
Yea in my situation it has helped with battery life. I average 11 to 13 hrs on battery. I'm running build 163. For some reason the link you placed I couldn't click so here's the milestones http://minooch.com/franciscofranco/Nexus4/4.2.2/milestones/
If you get the chance try to look for in the thread for build 165 as that was the last 4.2.2 release and more recent than the milestones

Thank you very much. Build 165 seems to be in http://minooch.com/franciscofranco/Nexus4/4.2.2/
I'm going to try that one. Thanks!
Using milestone 3 with cm 10.1.2 stable and definitely notice better battery life. I only flashed it last night but so far im at 15 hours on the battery with 3 hours of on screen time and its only at 50%.
Hey all,
This is my first thread so please be kind
I currently trying out a few ROMs, right now I'm loving Carbon Rom (nightly) but the battery life is not as good as PA, is this about right? When I'm not using it, the battery drops significantly, while using PA only drops a few percent. I'm using all the same apps btw on both (using titanium to backup and restore).
I used to have PAC on 4.2 (release version) and the battery life was great, but the 4.3 nightly battery life is even worse than Carbon.
I don't want to switch back to PAC 4.2 or PA for that matter since Carbon Rom have been stable and have great features
So what I'm trying to ask is, whether this so-so battery life is to be expected on a carbon Rom or am I missing some steps?
I did a clean wipe before installing carbon, currently running with semaphore 1.7.1 kernel.
Thx.

I just installed it. I agree so far. I am kinda disappointed. It might be my battery though. I just ordered a new one to test that out. I put the KitKat version instead of the Lollipop one expecting better battery life but it sucks. Obviously it takes some time to get used to it for proper readings. Have you figured out the problem (seeing its been 2+years)
i see a too bad batery duration in cm11 and aosp all kitkat ROMs.
i want ask for who used the two .
cm10.1 have a good batery duration? i thinking about install it on my phone .
comparated with aosp or cm11 KitKat that take almost of 10% - 15% of my batery while i sleep.

To me cm10.1 had the BESTS battery management. Then there is cm11 ..
At night i use deep sleep battery saver with conservative governor and cfq scheluder to minimize battery drain
My battery drains about 2 days? What? And I'm using KitKat rom by PecanCM

yes, i know the troubles are in drivers.
but i will change the my stock JB for cm.
just search because i need batery too
I have used any cm, slimbean, aosp version available for E610. CM10.1 battery life is exceptional. During 8 hours night falls 1-2%. Any other version falls 8-10%. Only stock jb 4.1 is comparable in terms of battery life, but seems slow and obsolete.

Whats is the best rom for performance and stability?(currently using Motion rom v17 with Renix kernel but i get a lot of random reboots)
I have Motion LL v17 with eMotion Kernel by Sev3n and no random reboots, ect. - it's smooth, fast and stable.
I had CM 12.1 RR 5.5.8 before with Renix Kernel and it was the same like Motion v17
The Renix Kernel only brought me problems. Try Motion Rom with the eMotion Kernel by @Sev3n and you're going to have the ROM with almost no bugs.

Can i just flash eMotion kernel without reinstalling Motion rom ?

If you have the Renix Kernel I think not. At least for me it didn't work. But try it for yourself! If you try to flash and it fails, just reinstall the ROM and flash the Kernel

I get about 4 hours on stock, with a lot of apps and usage, wifi all time and brightnes at least 20% but no more than 50% or half the brighness bar.. Moderate use goes 5 SOT in about 15 ~ 18 hours total. If i use it non stop directly from unplugging I can reach 6 hours SOT.
