When are we going to get kitkat?
Its kinda weird since US CARRIERS are the first one to receive rather than the international version
So yea when are going to get kitkat?
If i flashed kitkat rom of T-mobile or at&t will there be a problem on my phone?
Hoping for some reply
I'm curious about firmwares, basebands, etc.
Would it be wise to flash a stock based ROM (once 4.4 stock is rooted and released, of course) just to get those, and then go back to cm11?
srf, Vodafone is here, rest probably end of march
Why wait?
You don't need to wait, the kdz file is already released.

I have a rooted D802 international with TWRP custom recovery. Today the phone offered mi to upgrade to 20b, I guess it is finally a 4.4.2 ROM. But because of TWRP I know I can't upgrade with OTA. And also there is no support for a custom recover in a LG2 4.4.2 ROM kernel. So my question is and I guess it is also a request: do I have to wait for someone to release a patched stock 4.4.2 ROM for my phone? Or is there any way to do it by myself? I wouldn't like to use CM or similar, I like LG stock ROM. I hope someone is already working on it.
PS: Could someone please edit a caption of the thread to "[Q][REQUEST] Got an offer from my phone for a 4.4.2 upgrade". I forgot to finish it.
I think I found an answer to my question, but have another one. I found this two KitKat ROMs:
Stock KitKat

LG G Pro 2 ported ROM

What is the difference between them?
Hello everyone, I'm considering T-Mobile's LG G2 as my next device over the Nexus 5, but I've heard the latest update locks down the phone preventing the installation of custom ROMs. Is this true or am I misunderstanding something? Basically, If I were to purchase T-Mobile's G2 preinstalled with latest updates would I be unable to install ROMs like CM11 or AOSP at this point? I apologize if this has been answered before, but I haven't been able to find a clear answer and I am anxious to get my next handset.

Yes and no. When you get your G2, it will have Jelly Bean on and not KitKat. So with that, you can root/install recovery and flash CM11 or any other ROM you wish to. But if you choose to update your phone to TMO's official KitKat, there's no recovery yet for that at this point. But you can always downgrade back to Jelly Bean, I've done it numerous times.
Good luck!
Actually there is no way to install recovery on Kitkat. Only way is to have the phone running JB to have root and recovery but there is a way to have recovery on kitkat but for you to have that you have to have jb on your phone first. It have something to do with JB bootloader on kitkat. If you buy your phone and have kitkat. downgrade to jb root flash a recovery. and now most kitkat roms have these patches so you can keep recovery while on kk
Bought an EE locked D802, I'd like to install the Vanilla 4.4 rom so I get any future updates direct from LG OTA.
I've done some reading and I can see I'll need to leave the stock recovery to get future LG updates.
Also want it SIM unlocked.
Are the steps;
1) SIM unlock from unlockcode247.com
2) Root
3) Install stock 4.4 rom (which is the UK vanilla rom?)
Anything to watch out for with the EE UK D802 variant?
Done?
Thanks.
I have a LG G2 D802 from Dubai and I was wondering if I could change its firmware to another stock LG G2's, South American for instance, or European.
According to This website my firmware would be 6RE/UNITED ARAB EMIRATES_OPEN_16G
I wanna do that because my update center says there is no 5.0 available for it yet, and for many other g2's there is

You have the D802 Model. There is heaps of Custom Lollipop ROMs for you to choose from that are made for/work with the D802 model. Head over to the D802 Development forum and you'll find heaps of threads for Custom Lollipop ROMs built specifically for the D802, or you know.. you could wait a couple months for a official release by LG.

I actually wanted to keep the stock rom, just wanted to update it to Lollipop to get the few new things and keep LG's customization, I kinda like it (and too lazy/little time to toy with custom ROM's as I did back with Nexus')

Oh I'm sorry I kind of misunderstood what you were asking. Have you heard of the Grola ROM? It's a ROM built from Stock Lollipop from the F320K, and it's working great for the D802. Until D802 comes out with it's own official Lollipop release, you might want to check that out .

That is a better option! thanks
But what I was really hoping is to try to change my firmware from Dubai's to Europe's or whatever, just to have those updates more at hand.
Also, any idea if I could flash a radio or something to make my G2 work with my country's LTE band? I can only do that by that secret menu from dialer, not straight from settings (and it works)
I think this is the newest one that has been rolled out by AT&T?
I am currently rooted and running GoldenEye. Is there any reason to give this up and move to the carrier version now that its been rolled out?

I do not think it is a newest one. After OC3 there was OC4 and then the latest is OK2 I think.
They all are OTA incremental updates. Not an odin flashable full firmware, unless some developers in here cooked the odin flashable firmware.
You need to be at least Kitkat NB1 stock to use this update I think.
If you are happy with goldeneye just stick to it.
