Can i use kies to unroot and return to stock?

Better yet just go to settings in the supersu app under the cleanup section.

Yes, it's under the firmware upgrade menu. It will fully wipe the phone and return it to stock.

I forgot to add uninstall safestrap first if you unroot through supersu. If you use Odin or Kies don't worry about it as they will wipe the phone.

im not having any luck none. I dont inderstand why the mje tar file wont download. Im note the only one having issues with the stock tar either. Im also having trouble with kies 3.0

Im wanting to unroot and return to stock and this is what i have done so far. Im running baja rom build 8. I just clicked full unroot in Superuser. But i still have custom rom installed im praying that i will be able to return this phone so i can upgrade. I have to use odin to return back to stock right? I have tried downloading the mje stock tar but it fails it WONT DOWNLOAD. How am i gonna be able to pull this off. Kies will not allow me to preform a firmware recovery so im lost. I cant figure out why theres not a working MJE tar file DL.

What's the problem with Kies? If it's not connecting put the phone in mtp mode instead of installer in the pull down menu on the phone when you connect it to the computer.

[Q] soft brick help

im kinda new to the whole rooting/rom thing, i rooted my s4 successfully, but when i went to install the rom i thought it was on my usb retardedly, so i wiped my phone, hooked up the usb, and it wasnt there. it said my phone was unrooted and asked me if i wanted to instal s2 to root it i hit yes, and now the phone wont boot up past samsung galaxy s4 home screen. i was using TWRP but it wont even open ... help me please im freakin out, prolly broke my phone i just bought it a week ago.
edit: okay so after trying like 15x twrp finally opened up. i put the backup i made onto my pc. do i just load it onto my usb, hook it up and go twrp > restore > usb-otg and restore it?
edit2: i go to restore but it shows nothing in my usb.
im freaking out again help please >.< do i need a file to install/where can i get it to get back to stock?
Download Odin and a rom in .tar format. Hold the volume down and power button to go into download mode. Then connect to usb and see the com port pop up, then select the pda tab and browse to the tar file. Then flash that. It will install stock firmware and recovery or rooted firmware and custom recovery based on what tar file you download.
If that sounds like too much to take in, and I suck at writing this kind of stuff up, do a YouTube search for sprint s4 unbrick/unroot and it should show all the steps.

Yea you should return to Stock Firmware. It should solve your issue.
Always, read and double check, even triple check before you mess with your phone. You should be alright if you follow previous post instructions.

Sent from my SPH-L720
Firstly b calm.
Panicking wont help.jst do as the op said. Flashing ur way thru odin.
Before that do double check the version dat it support ur device.pay attention to this.n do calmly.
N the more u try more r d chances of getting thru the prob.
Do search for s4 backup n restore it.
Or repair via kies.
Keep posted
Good luck.

Just simply flash the stock rom JB. which i guess u were using n flash it via odin.
it'll solve the bootloop...

N only flash stock rom for ur device model...
post the results and post the screenshots if u can would be helpful..
Do I flash kernel or is it inside the tar file?

The kernel is already inside the tar file that is inside the zip, the kernel is just there if you need stock MF9 kernel. If you can go back to stock with odin theres no need for kies.

[Q] I think I soft bricked my S4

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M from Koodo (Telus). And I wanted to get the latest 4.3 android on my phone, so I installed Cyanogenmod 10.2, and flashed my phone using that. I then realised that I didn't like the new display and wanted my old phone's display and firmware.
So I then proceeded to flash my phone with my Stock firmware using Odin 3.07. My phone didn't start up normally and is stuck on the part where the phone shows the Samsung logo. I can turn off the phone and boot into download mode, and I can access the recovery using Volume Up + Home + Power button. I have also tried to us the Firmware upgrade and initialization using Samsung Kies, but that doesn't change anything. Odin recognises my device, and Kies lets me flash using firmware emergency recovery, but I cannot open the files using the directory on my computer
At Odin Mode it shows the following:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I337M
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
I backed up all my data prior to flashing using Cyanogenmod, so I don't care if I lose my data. (Also my constant flashing will definitely stop once I fix my phone). Is this phone soft bricked or hard bricked? How do I fix this? Thank you in advance.
Edit: I was also using Clockworkmod Recovery. AND YAY! I can actually boot into Android system recovery. Sorry, I simply was not holding the buttons correctly. Should I do a factory reset?
Try jusy volume+ and ppower then do a factory reset

Unrar the .zip -- put the phone into download mode, open Odin, plug in the phone, load the unrar'd .MD5 file into PDA slot of odin and press start - sit back and wait

Ah you've unrared too far. It should be a zip/rar file.. then unzip/unrar it and there should be an md5 file around 2GB or so which is the file you need.

Just so you know that's Kitkat that I have posted.. If you upgrade there's no return to 4.3 -- since you've already used a custom rom I'm gonna assume your knox is gone so using custom ROMs is still the same bar using NA6 and NA7 Ones Xnote 9 is out also

Thanks mate
Version I posted is the XEO official Polish firmware (in used it to update also on a BTU Device) - Xnote 9 runs on this new boot loader for Kitkat.

It's a region thing, Polish version works fine on UK devices, flash it via Odin, then you can bang on your custom recovery and install Xnote 9

I've tried MJE firmware, NC4 firmware, I've used Odin before and have reset a phone before, but idk for the life of me why I can't get my Verizon Note 3 factory reset!!!

I'm not 100% sure I know what the pit file is? I tried Odin version 3.9 I believe, it's the latest one, and I tried version 3.5. Both with 2 different downloads of MJE. And also with the latest kit kat NC4, which I know I lose root with.
Sent from my C6916 using Tapatalk
I just keep getting fail every time. That or I'll get md5 binary invalid. I've tried renaming the zip files cause I read if you take the md5 off the end and rename to. Tar it would work but it still fails.

Ok I did that and I see it's a pit file HLTE USA VZW 32g.pit to be exact but what's the difference between a pit file and the md5 firmware? Do I need both, or just try the pit? Do I put the pit file in the same spot in Odin that I would the md5?

I should probably mention the one thing I did do was I kind of used kingo to unroot it thinking it was going to factory reset it afterwards or at least give me the chance to, but all it did was say root was removed. I was still on the leaked NC2 build though so that's when I started trying Odin and the firmware zips. Idk if this could be reason why? Like I said I am in download mode but my info reads as follows now... PRODUCT NAME: Sm-N900v, current binary:Samsung official, Knox kernel lock 0x0, qualcomm secure boot enabled, write protection: enabled.Udc Start, Unsupport dev_type.

Ok so I just unzipped one of the kit kat firmwares I had downloaded and after I extracted it I ended up with 2 files this time, ones a Tar file and the other is MD5 file. Which one do I try in Odin? All other firmwares I downloaded were one file.

Well that one flashed and said successful and my phone rebooted but I'm back to exactly how my phone was with root only I have no root. I still have the 4x4 S5 launcher, even my notification shade is still like the S5 and that was using an xsposed module which u need root for. I still have safestrap recovery as well. Though I haven't tried booting into it. This is weird. What would u suggest I do?

Now just reinstall nc2 rom because it is loaded with root. Then you will have to go find whatever the latest firmware you had and install in Oden to return to stock. I know it's a long pain in the ###. I'm glad it rebooted. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2726558
