Flashed it on my unrooted DBT note3 via OTA
The system overall is faster and it solved a battery drain, but quick memo (s-pen memo functions) crashes, as well as favourite apps lockscreen widget, I guess that other apps would crash too, it seems like they are not updated to kitkat, has anyone experienced these issues?

I flashed DBT on a nonrooted phone - and my LTE speeds are almost 0 now.
ANy help ?
After a full-version update you should always do a full reset the second you encounter issues that involve crashing, sluggishness, lag, instability, connectivity issues and speed issues.

Just read that on my SamMobile RSS Feed :good:
btw: can we root this like we rooted de ics version ?
I used Mobile Odin to flash and inject root. Odin from PC didnt work on my 5113. You can probably root over adb with sideload in stock recovery

Updated via Odin 30 min ago. It feels faster (especially when navigating home screens) and stable, but let's see in the next days how it will perform
When booting (before the Samsung logo) the screen ****s up for a second

Same. No other problems so far. Though no option for lock screen shortcuts in Settings for me, despite it saying so before you click into it.

don't use those shortcuts. Don't know why a tablet should have a lockscreen.
Rom still running wel. Removed alot of crapp (hubbs and other samsung crapp i don't use)
music plays well now, no more hikups like in ics and cm10. ofcourse installed nova launcher and runs wel. Streaming 720p works well to (if it isn't dts, dts is no sound).
maybe i stay on this for a while (like the vanilla ui beter, but this streams better 720p)
Hey OP, Thanks. I saw this on SamMobile this morning. I have a 5113, I see you flashed it without a hitch. I assume flashing it via Mobile ODIN will do just fine? I am on stock ICS ROOTED now.
Any major difference between the 5110 & the 5113? Rom will work without any issues?
Thanks.

The rom will run without issues, but the IR may not work... that's the main difference between the 5110 and the 5113.
Dont use IR anyway, hopefully a 5113 ROM will come out in which that should be resolved. Still since the OP has it installed on the 5113, will wait an see whether it works or not.

Thats because it's not out here. Tis is a version you have to flash with odin
So whos got the 5110 and who's got the 5113?
Getting no shortcut options on the 5113 here. IR blaster is working with Smart Remote (Europe) and there is no option for vibrate on sound (which there shouldn't be, no motor in the 5113. Previous 5110 roms had always shown it)
I did a full mobile Odin flash of all parts on the ROM then ran a full reset (internal SD as well)

after using stock UBMJ4 for 3 days, I have not noticed any improvement in battery life, lag, or anything else. (compared to BGMA Gennxt rom) battery life is still great, and the phone does not exhibit lag.

yes, I am talking about the 4.2.2 stock rom. I used it on pure stock for about a day. Now, it is rooted and I have xposed installed. it showed no lag, meaning that it showed the same performance as the GENNXT rom. It had the occasional lag, just like the GENNXT rom
No lag
Day 1 using the new stock Malaysian version 4.2.2, no noticeable lag. Updated using odin without wiping and reset and not rooted (haven't found use for rooting yet). No visible changes on the new firmware. Hope it stays this way.

I hope not, that would mean there is a really bad security flaw. There is a fine way for rooting (unlocking the bootloader) no need for more.

Those who got the device with a locked bootloader knew what that would imply and what they are getting into.
Now you, with a locked bootloader, wish that there will be a big security flaw for all devices (also the unlockable) just so that you have an easy root? That is really selfish.
Go back to 4.1.2, root, via any simple 1 click method, allow ota updates, done. Simple. Rooted 4.4.2 no bl unlock required.

Dear Technaudio,
how does one go back to 4.1.2?
I really want to go back, these new updates are doing the Z no good as far as i know. The UI looks worse, the camera makes a chirping sound when started fast and now the battery drains like a moterh****er too.
One thing I keep hearing which does not make sense is what is this battery drain that everyone keeps complaining about, I have had no problems since updating to Kitkat. What is normally recommended when doing and upgrade like this is to do a factory reset when you flash so you start fresh, that's what I did and I have not had one issue. I would say to guess this next update to come won't fix the problems you are having or it will create new issues as each update does. When I flash this next update I will be wiping all user data and apps and starting again as that is the easiest way to make sure any new issues don't affect your phone. I get no lag no battery drain no Google server issues nothing my update that I have is the best update Sony has done to date. If you are having these issues factory reset your phone and I bet you 100% all your issues will be gone!!!

Flash a .FTF file using flashtool.
Search the forum (XZ forum) for 4.1.2 .FTF roms, flash your device and done.
Be careful tho because if you don't untick that you want to keep your files, you will lose everything on your memory (SD card not included I believe)

They do go, until they start again! Just like with the original Devices bug, you could reset and it will be gone until something triggers the same wake lock.

I'm currently on a custom rom at the moment, I've not tried with 4.4.2 yet, as it only got released for UK in the last few days, but it's worked for every ota update before. However, if you've changed anything in /system it will fail.
I will do it sometime soon as there's a few annoyances with this custom rom, as there always is, and I've never had any problems with stock and root by doing it this way.

I'm an owner of a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 rooted, my problem is that air gesture and air view (using hand) stop working after some time of usage, and then I should reboot to make them work again, really strange, I used the command *0*# to see if the sensor is working and it was working.
Anyone has any idea to fix it?

I'm not sure if some apps may interfere with the system service. That may cause the problem.
You can try one of the following:
- Uninstall some apps that you have installed recently, or that you suspect.
- Factory reset.
- Update to the newer firmware for your device.

I think it's a root app that is causing this but I have so many and I can't uninstall them because I won't be able to know which app is behind this + it takes many hours for air gesture to stop working so I guess I'll have to wait for the 4.4.4 update and see if anything would change.
