Starting this week, hopefully, I wanna begin work on a 2.3 ROM for X8 featuring the SlideScreen Pro setup, but improving on a couple things, such as:
1) App interface Clean milky-white interface all around, with classic gray and orange colors. GingerBread (etc) options integrated into SlideScreen style
2) Gmail notifications to main screen Revert Gmail notifications from StatusBar onto main screen
3) Revamping looks, feel, and functionality Improving overall menu-ergonomics, giving it a SlideScreen-MIUI feel and look
Anybody wanting and willing to collaborate is more then welcome.
I'll post some preliminary interface pics after Tuesday, March 6th, since I gotta get a separate laptop running Linux, due to daughter needing play games on the PC . Once I do some basic mods to the SlideScreen interface, I'll test it on GB. Once I get the appropriate performance, I'll post Alpha.
like it
i like slidescreen
i like ur idea
may i give u more idea..
can you make it more ICSish..
ill wait..
maybe i can become the first tester..

No sorry not making a rom, was interested initially because I was looking for a good modded version of the launcher fully functional with no fc. I use 1.26 now but I want 2.0 full with no fc in Facebook.

Can anyone do that? Like a little review.
I would like to see the notifications and the lancher.
I was hoping for the same thing a few hours ago but couldn't find anything. Basically just wanna see how the notification expansions work and how fluid the os is in tablet mode. Probably comparable performance but I just wanted to make sure xD
I would also love to see this
so no one is able to do this? I came searching again and was disappointed
I would love a video of that too. Please can someone make one?

But neither of them have video reviews of it running stock tablet UI with the DPI change mod. They both have it running the 213 dpi, hybrid UI instead.
Aww seriously guys it can't be this hard to get something like this done. :s I'd gladly do it but I don't have the device.

I think you are going to confuse people.
The Nexus 7 does run in Tablet UI mode - only the home screen is hybrid.
What you want is a video of the tablet running with the DPI mod.

If you want to get technical then yes it is running in tablet mode, with a Hybrid Launcher BUT I still believe it's hybrid UI since even while in apps, you still get the hybrid/phone-like softkeys and notification bar.
Yes I would like a video of a nexus 7 running the DPI mod and showing a brief overview of menus, opening apps and notifications.
Sorry for any misunderstandings
bump.. again.. guess I'll have to wait til I get it myself

Oh man, I can't wait to get my Nexus and do this mod!!! SOOO EXCITED!!! WANT IT SO BADLY!!!!
Only on the nexus 7 in 4.2 there is banding everywhere even on solid colors. You can really see it behind the recent apps on the wallpaper. Its extremely banded in 4.2 but perfectly fine in 4.1. Its obviously something with the video driver itself and not any of the PNG assets so the old 4.1 and 4.0 gradients fixes won't help.

Think of it like really crappy jpeg compression. The color should be solid but it isn't.
he's right, i finally flashed a 4.2 rom (smoothrom) and the gradient issue is horrible
There is banding, but not too bad with my nexus.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Yes, I've also flashed the latest version of SmoothRom with M-Kernel. Yes, even before (stock 4.1.2) there was banding, but it wasn't as bad as it is right now. Sidenote: SmoothRom has the Bravia Engine included, maybe it is related to that?

Install Pimp my Rom from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androguide.pimp.my.rom&hl=en
This app lets you install Bravia 2 engine and other Sony stuff like Sony Walkman suite : Music Player & Visualizer, Clearbass soundfx and Image Gallery & Editor.
Calibrate the screen with faux or Franco much better results in my opinion

I seem to remember seeing an option in settings, maybe, about creating a backup zip that would revert any changes you made to their stock defaults. Look in the pimp my rom app.....I'm sure it's there. they all seem to have a fail-safe of sorts these days

please don't report any CM 10.2 bugs
there are a lot of them
I will not start to fix CM bugs cause I will not stay on CM. So I will just sync whatever CM has changed
so this is mostly to find device specific issues cause those will happen on all custom roms

First of all, congrats on the build. It's running much better than I could have hoped for, and I haven't seen a bug so far.
I'd like to let you know that the application I mentioned in the official CM thread a couple of days back runs properly on this build. I haven't had time to compile a proper test app for you, so I'll just throw the APK in here if you'd still like to test it. I'm suspecting it's an issue on 4.2, but I haven't had access to another 4.2 device so far. If you'd prefer I post this in the official thread instead, just let me know.
Anyway, the APK can be found here. The included fade animations turned out to have no effect on performance, so don't worry about that. The mere presence of the two backgrounds causes the application to grind to a halt, I noticed it in another app as well.
