Is there anyone out there that is logged into YM? I want to check if I can get it working (in the UK). My id is <two_tc1>
Thanks
Tim
YM (in the UK)
Of course 02 tech support didn't suggest anything, but I had some limited success using proxy server settings:
GRPS with 193.113.200.195 port 8080 (for UK users)
It works, but YM iteslf had a few problems.
Regards
Tim
I have problems using Yahoo Messenger ... but when i installed IMOV Universal Mobile Messenger .. everything works fine.
I couldn't make YM to run as well. I tried everything, but it just displays "connecting ..." . I heard it's a common problem coz it seems was designed for PPC running Win CE and a mobile as a modem and not PPPE.
I 'm using IMov for now, but have to say its interface is so dull :x ... of course comparing to what we used to see by using the PC versions of ICQ and Yahoo and MSN.
There is another universal client as well which is OdigoMessengerForce but it does exactly like YM. :? If anyone can figure out how it's working, it would be great coz it has a great interface.
Salam
Hi ,
Please tell me where to download that software ? " OdigoMessengerForce "
Hi all,
I have an imode subs. which originaly is only to be used on reserved mobile phones from the operator. I could have the parameters to connect from all phones. It is working nice on my Xda2.
But the proxy they use only allows me surfing (port 80).
Therefore I would like to know how I can bypass the proxy (10.10.100.10:5080) with my own home server translating/forwarding the request from my XDA.
Example :
I connect GPRS with my XDA, I tell my Pocketoutlook to use pop server "myhomePC.com:80" and my home PC will transfer to "MyPOPsupplier:110"
Same could apply for other services...
Thanks For your help :?: :?: :?:
not possible, it is a http proxy so it restricts which connections you make to port 80. Out of my experience with imode i know going to the proxy for POP3 does not work. The only thing which is easy and I also use for my email is http://mail2web.com. There you can check POP3/IMAP (+SSL) to read your email on your xda 2
hope this helps
Ever tried this one ?
hi thanks for your reply. Have you ever tried this one ?
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=9539
Can some users of Imode on XDA try it and let us know the results ?
I can have it working... do not know why because it is only http requests.
Thanks
Stéphane
That is because it tunnels your mail over HTTP. This is only possible with MSN or hotmail accounts and not with other POP3/IMAP accounts.

Hello,
i am looking for an application or maybe a Dev about an application which can allow me to send sms from my company network using outlook.
the destination email address will be an internal one, an agent will receive the email and maybe it can recognize the destination phone number in the object email and this agent can use a GSM modem to send it.
Outlook is just a question but if i can have a little client on my PC whic can connect using IP to an SMS gateway with a GSM modem
Sorry for my poor english.
Thank you for your help
hi
my provider (tmobile) blocks any port except 443 and 80 so i cant use email service. but i'd love a email program or a guide that connects over port 443. i didn't find any solution to this yet, but i think it's possible, because there are servics like palringo which also allow to connect via port 443. i WOULD set up a server if i could, but i have problems with my router. it doesn't fully support port forwarding, because other clients cant access ssl sites anymore then.
so i hope theres anyone out there who has a solution
Have your email forwarded to another address.
hi
i dont understand what you mean with fotwarding... you mean the port? or how to do?
Try Flexmail, on account settings You can configure incoming and outgoing ports
http://www.pocketinformant.com/products_info.php?p_id=mail
You can add the port number after the smtp server address, such as mail.mydomain.com:443. However I doubt that you have your own SMTP server (I could be wrong though ... ) so I don't think you'll be able to change the server's outbound SMTP address.
I myself have to use a service from NO-IP.COM to do port redirecting so I can use my Exchange 2003 server because my ISP (Bellsouth) blocks both incoming and outgoing port 25, which is one real PIA! (I'm not going to upgrade from residential to commercial service with Bellsouth, no way Jose!)
Without more info, can't help you.

yep its right. i can´t set up a server here/don´t have one (atm maybe i´ll set up one) but i found a better solution. (well i think it is) i just made an account at www.emoze.com, it allows you to make a free push mail account, and it works over port 443, too. it doesn´t matter what port you set in email server settings, it just works! then i forwarded my mail accounts to a gmail account (because the mailserver im using is crappy at pop3/imap access) and now everything works beatifully
i get the mails after 3 secs after sending
