MK2 after NAE baseband - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I flashed unknown forces NAE baseband prior to wiping totally and installing 5.5 ultra. In the aroma downloaded for 5.5 it shows MK2 being installed (flashed) would that overwrite the previous flash of NAE? My gut says no. My device says no. And after flashing 5.5 the baseband still shows NAE. Is their away to verify this completely or could there be a conflict which causes data & Wiki to pulsate...loose connection. Just wondering.

I don't think this is development related and probably is the wrong forum to post this in.
Roms do not overwrite basebands.

[Q] Mismatched builds and software/baseband!?

Im sorry if question has been asked but how do I fix this?
DL odin 1.85 is what I use, select boot loader update, and auto reboot, download this file in this thread--- >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357171 and place phone in download mode (power off phone, hold volume down+power button) select PDA in odin and select the file you downloaded earlier and hit start

Lol there's no problem with you having different names. Just means you have a different modem and kernel/build.

Roms do NOT come with modems. They have to be flashed separately or be done through Odin.
BTW your baseband says MDC not MF9 like you stated.

It's update 4.3 while being rooted with flashed baseband for LTE concern

So I have a rooted stock ROM nexus 4 with flashed baseband from the prev 4.2 version to allow me to turn on LTE connectivity. My concern is I got the ota update notification will I run into problems my phone being rooted and with a different baseband version or will it all configure itself with the update? Also is it still possible to flash baseband back to android 4.2 version to get LTE connectivity? I also have a custom recovery clockwork mod will this error out the update? Thanks for your help
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
The custom baseband or recovery could cause an OTA update to fail. Flashing either would be simple enough to allow the update to pass the patch assertions and complete.

Your phone will not update thru ota, but you have cwm, why dont you download a stock 4.3. Zip and flash tru cwm?
Those zip files are without modem So your LTE modem will stil be there
For ota you need stock ROM, stock kernel and matching radio of the ROM

Hello yea so when I read these posts I already have attempted the update and sure enough it failed I tried thought the ota update and I also tried downloaded the zip file with the update and attempted to flash it using cwm but it still gives me the error and won't update do you think I should flash the original baseband for 4.2.2? And will work?

Try it.

I tried it and no it did not work I flashed to stock baseband for 4.2.2 and also unrooted using the full indoor method found on super user app and no dice

[Q] kitkat root now wifi n hot spot not work? ?

I updated to kitkat today after I unrooted then I used odin v1.85 n the tar.md5 file for rooting the rooting went fine but everytime I try to kick in wifi or hot spot it says" your phones security has blocked an action..."???
Also my baseband is mk2 n my buildnumber is nae
Little more background info after updating I tried to put the nae hotspot mod into my framework n backed up my old ones by putting .bak n restarted the phone n the hotspot nor wifi worked so I removed the modded ones n put back the stock n tried that still didn't work n then unrooted n tried again n neither of the two work I can use any advice that is given Thanks
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Just wondering if you thought about flashing the hotspot mod instead of pushing the files yourself.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Yeah I did but at this point I just want to get my wifi working even without root cause it's not working currently n I'm unrooted n which number do we look at for the hotspot mod the build number or the other one
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
You need to start from scratch, you say you updated to Kit Kat after unrooting?? The reason why your phone isn't working properly is your update didn't complete properly. You have mismatches in your software version and baseband. Did you update with the OTA file or did you install one of the semi custom roms from the development section. Anyway, the wifi problem is probably a mismatch between your baseband and your kernel. Sense your software is NAE and your baseband is MK2 I don't know which hotspot you should use. Straighten out your install first and then you should have working wifi and hotspot.
Well how do I start from scratch to be honest I used the the supersu unroot tool cause mine was stock but rooted but then I hit the install icon in my notification window n it started installing the update n it succeeded n it says I'm on kit kat but software and basband version are on mk2 n my build number is nae ?

Then the update failed. You could try to Odin the NAE modem files but that might not fix you. If it was me, I would try to Odin the stock mk2 file and see if it completes. If it fails, then your bootloader was upgraded to NAE and you won't be able to go stock. If it completes, then you should be fully mk2 again and you can try the ota and hopefully it succeeds this time.if it succeeds everything should show NAE.

"We are do I bet the stock mk2"? I hope you're asking where do you get stock mk2 tar file. If so its in the development section by random45

Are you rooted?
If so, what rom are you running?
This is the exact issue the UnKnownforce is trying to fix in his thread.
Go HERE and search the thread for lockscreen. You'll find many posts concerning this issue. There is no 100% fix yet. Works fine for some and not for others.

That's what I'm guessing he did. Someone said that if you flash with cwm not Philz or Twrp that it works.

Well that makes absolutely no sense. You took the OTA then rooted and flashed the NAE modem??? If you took the OTA why would you have to flash the NAE modem. Something is fishy here. Are you on the NAE upgrade or are you a piece meal install with mismatched bootloader, modem, and software. If you are on stock NAE then the lock screen should work as mine works with all options. If you are on a custom rom, that is where the problem is. Post a screenshot of your about phone info page or list the specifics of what you have so we can further help you.
Yea i took the Ota everything was nae but my baseband then I flashed the nea modem is

You might be screwed until the stock tar comes out. If your baseband hadn't changed with the ota, then the update didn't complete. You may still be on the mk2 bootloader. There is suppose to be an app that can tell you what bootloader your on, but I don't know what it is called. You can try to Odin the mk2 tar file. If it completes your golden and then can redo the update. If it fails then you have the NAE bootloader. you can try installing a custom kernel to get wifi back, or see if you can find a copy of the stock NAE kernel.

Stuck after downgrade on orange att logo!

I downgraded my i337 and rooted it just fine. I then go into safestrap and install %100 stock rooted nb1 rom and the nb1 kernel zip. Runs through these fine and then I wipe cache and reboot. It starts ok up until the Att logo. The blue Att world logo itself goes from blue to orange and stays on this screen. Any suggestions?

Did you odin flash the NB1 ap/BL/cp files from the "NB1 Odin files" folder of the tool?
Sent from my SGH-I337 running GPE using Tapatalk
Didn't think i had to with the 100% rom, being it was over a gig and a half in size and I used a kernel zip. I only used odin to downgrade back to mk2
Sent from my LG-P925g using XDA Free mobile app
Sounds like you did not flash the nb1 kernel as indicated in the instructions to the nb1 100% Stock ROM.
