Apparently LG has screwed something with KDZ file - LG Bridge cannot install the update (it's officially avaliable for me), flashing kdz via flash tool also returns errors. We have to wait for LG to provide us with working kdz or manually flash system via flashable zips provided by @autoprime

not strictly fair to say they screwed something up - they just updated the dll and other files which means without an update flashtool won't work.

Yeah, but they should update Flashtool (or Bridge) too, as they stated that 6.0 will be only avaliable via WebDL (flashtool)

No need to unroot - flashing KDZs and TOTs restore your device to 100% stock unrooted.

You can extract the .DLL from the KDZ with WindowsLGFirmwareExtract v1.2.7.0 you can find on XDA.
I assume I would just use ODIN for this?

can you grab 11A from LG website? I tried and failed (For VK815). My VK815 was rooted started acting up and I did factory reset. Now i cant get past startup screen since setup.exe crashes. I tried downloading your KDZ and flashing but it wouldnt flash ( I am afraid since I was on 11A) if you dont mind can you see if you can download older kdz?

I have been using the v20 us996 for several months now, and it works quite well, but the last update received was back in January, and was curious to know about OTA firmware updates. Mine is still on the December 2106 update and after doing some research I found that some of the US996 phorne received an OTA update sometime in April. Is there a way to force my phone to receive the OTA update?
Or would I have to flash a KDZ of whatever the latest firmware is?

I believe the firmware the OP is referencing is U.S. Cellular v10h. I've seen users on Reddit running v10h on the US996 Unlocked with root and no issue.
How did you draw the conclusion that v10h precludes root on the 996?
I'm running 10f stock on factory unlocked US996 with root and all. No issues whatsoever.
