Google apps package?

What are these for? Are they only for use with other ROMs or should I be updating the stock ROM with these?

Gapps packages are for custom roms. You don't need to worry about them on a stock rom.

Flash Stock Rom

If I wanted to flash back to stock ROM and maintain root could I just find a already rooted stock ROM and flash in recovery like any other rom? And what about gapps?

Yes. What nexus 7 do you have. There are rooted stock ROMs available and all should have what you want pre installed.

Stock rom

Hi everyone, is there a stock 4.3 ROM.zip anywhere? I could only find downloads for the original stock Google images that needed a computer and couldn't be flashed through a recovery. Cheers

[Q] Can I flash CM11 using safestrap ROM slot 1?

I'm on NB1(4.4.2) stock rooted. I want to flash Cyanogenmod 11 hut don't wanna risk bricking my phone so I wanna be sure. I was gonna flash it using safestrap recovery v3.72 on ROM slot 1. Now I don't know if I flashed CM if I would have to flash a kernal with it. Thanks.

How to upgrade!

So the last 2 times I have updated ota I have gone into a bootloop. I tried complete wipe then flashing kk modem then pa and pa gapps to only be stuck in another boot loop! At this point I'd just like to be able to get a 4.4 rom. How do I do it without bootlooping? Thanks!

Do u have custom recovery at moment? Cos of u flash ota with cust rec it will go into bootloop

Download a 4.4 ROM from here, copy it to your phone, then flash it in recovery.

I do that and I get boot loops no matter what I try. Eiither that or it will only boot to recovery

@hdjx20 You need the KK modem as well. Wipe, then flash modem before or after rom/gapps.
