Hello, I just repaired my Nexus 7C (3G) from ASUS service center but they flashed wrong OS (Wi-Fi only). I'm looking to have the 3G features back but not able to find the official ASUS Nexus 7C OS. Device model is ME370TG (India). Please help me to get that official ROM and how to flash that. I'm looking for complete tutorial. Thanks.
What you'll need is this guide and you can grab the official factory images from here. Be sure to download the proper one!!! Flashing the wrong image (for example the 2013 image on a 2012 model) will hard brick the device.

I recently purchased a Nexus 7 because I was getting tired of dealing with IOS devices and needed a break from them and also wanted to get a tablet that would allow me to play games and apps on a bigger screen. (I recently got a mobile broadband device so I can play on-the-go). When I got the nexus 7, being unfamiliar with android OS and devices, I thought it would update just like an iPod or iPad. Boy was I wrong. After realizing that the nexus 7 I had was running 4.0.3 and that the google play store wasn't on the device (and wouldn't work after manually putting on the nexus), I frantically rushed to get jellybean 4.3 in hopes that my problems would be solved.
So I began to search on how to update and after looking for a while I was directed to a couple of youtube videos as well as this site. Following the guides available on this site, accompanied with the youtube videos, I was able to begin flashing my device in order to get jellybean 4.3 but one instruction that was not outlined was how to update the bootloader. The bootloader I had was a "GROUPER" 3.32 bootloader and when attempting to flash 4.3 on to my nexus 7, it said that it failed because I needed 4.23 to do it. So now I have a nexus that only boots into that bootloader mode and that's it. I can't access recovery mode or start the nexus 7. It only shows the Google sign and booting failed in the top right corner.
So, my question is how do I upgrade the bootloader to 4.23? I need to know this because a couple threads that I read after panicking stated that all I had to do was flash the stock image to my nexus in order to fix the problem but I cannot do that without a 4.23 bootloader. Can I fix the problem or is there no hope for my device?
Are you REALLY sure about that its a N7? The 1st gen of N7 was released with JB 4.1 and the 2nd gen with JB 4.3 and all of them have Play preinstalled and have the latest version of android downloaded and installed via OTA updates.
Anyway, if you see 100% sure its a N7, here is a fine guide for returning to stock. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796

I just purchased a refurb Nexus 7 (1st gen), and it came exactly the same way as the other guy described. It's running 4.0.3, and this grouper bootloader 3.32. I was expecting a device that was running android 4.1 at the least.
@funkball: Could you link me where did you buy that tablet?
Something must be fishy about it, because there is no ICS rom to the grouper, not even custom roms.
OP has probably solved the problem by now but in case anyone needs it the solution to upgrading the bootloader is below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2150251
I bought a Nexus 7 (refurb) from Expansys-USA and it came with 3.2 bootloader so I had to update via the above link so I could flash the Lollipop factory image.
I have been following the lollipop experiences of Nakasi/Grouper (wifi-only) users here and been expecting to see an update for my Nakasig/Tilapia (3g) Nexus 7 Tablet as well - but I keep re-checking the Google Factory Images repo and it lists the Nakasi (grouper) Lollipop image, but none for the Nakasig (tilapia):
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Also, no OTA notification.
So I have two questions:
Will Nakasig/Tilapia get the Lollipop update - and if so, does anyone know when?
Since I don't use the 3g module at all on my Nakasig: Can I simply flash the Nakasi/grouper lollipop image on my Nakasig/tilapia device and get a working device (except the 3g module of course)?
I think that nakasi ROM won't do it. The radio in both devices is different as far as I know... anyone with more knowledge on the subject can confirm this?
I couldn't wait for the nakasig version and am using lollipop on my nakasig, without 3g of course.
Just don't flash the whole image, skip the radio if there even is one.
I flashed cache, recovery, system, data (was that all?)
I had to do full wipe etc but have been happily using it since.
I also flashed twrp later, converted to f2fs and flashed a compatible rom.
The update is going to be available in the next few days from what they said. (Both factory images and OTA)
Lets hope rooting etc is the same with the simple nakasi, so we can get a proper 5.0 ASAP.
So you can confirm it will work with nakasi image if I don't flash radio ? I'm not using 3G either at this moment...
Well, like I said. I've done this. It works. I used nakasi factory image for a while, then I flashed some other lollipop rom (which was also for nakasi) which had f2fs support.
I'm sick of waiting for the nakasig update. Rapid Updates are one of the reasons I bought a nexus with 3g. You live and learn, eh?

I wonder how different that damn radio is that is keeping them from releasing an update. And the same is happening with the 2013 3g version too.
I still remember what happened with the Galaxy Nexus, lets hope its not so bad with the Nexus 7.

So far they're doing a bang up job!
I just Received OTA update 5.0.2 for Nexus 7 3G Nakasig. After updating i couldnt find any settings related to Mobile Data. Its completely gone from the settings. I tried replacing SIMs. I cannot enable 3G anymore. I wanted to flash my android to Stock android but i cannot find Images for it anywhere. I think i got the OTA by mistake (maybe of WIFI nexus 7)
Any Ideas .
I think my device is converted into Nexus 7 Wifi. It is showing the model number ME370T which is Nexus 7 Wifi.
That is weird if you automatically got the WiFi only update for a 3G N7.
The older KitKat stock roms (including lollipop) for N7 3G (nakasig) are available from Google: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#nakasig
Alternatively if you wanna stick with the WiFi lollipop that you have and you're into flashing minor mods, check out my last (5.0.2) post here on possibly restoring the 3G. haven't gotten feedback as to whether it actually works tho (I have WiFi only):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535586&page=22
but you should be comfortable with flashing stuff to try it tho, if not you could make things worse and might be better off flashing KitKat or waiting for the correct lollipop.
Personally i was waiting for Lollipop for months ... Since the first release . So i think i am going to keep it until lollipop for 3G version comes out. Then i flash it to bring back my Modem Features.
Looks like the proper Lollipop images for 3G have been released. Check the Google link above.

As far as I am aware there are only 2 models for the Nexus 7 (2012) a Wi-Fi and 3G version. Yours says grouper so that's the Wi-Fi version.
ME370T is as well the model name but rarely used.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/ASUS_Nexus_7/ME370T
https://developers.google.com/android/images#nakasi - for the official images from google. It's official code name is nakasi.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7 - support forum on xda (NOTE DON'T PICK THE 3G DEVELOPMENT FORUMS FOR ROMS)
You might try the Nexus Root Toolkit for unlocking the bootloader and follow step by step assistance to flash rom, etc...

Thanks for reply
I did use the Nexus Root Toolkit, but couldnt find the 4.2.3 version. They suggested that I had Nakasi-Grouper 4.2.2 JDQ39B
Rooting was successful, but, on one attempt, the camera was present in settings > apps, but could not make welcome screen short cut, so was unusable. On another attempt, the camera disappeared from the list of apps. Otherwise, the tablet is working fine.
any suggestions please

Wasn't certain myself so did some searching and apperently the only way to access the Camera is using it as function for skype/instagram/snapchat etc... You need to install an app for the play store if you want to access it otherwise.
Hi I just bought the axon 7 global version running mifavor 4 and I want to to update is anyone out there is using global version of axon 7 ?? The new version nougat 7 . I am running Android 6
? you can update it manually or via OTA
latest version is MiFavor 4.2/1.2.0B08 for A2017G
Do you want to mod it, root, recovery, ROMs etc?
Or just keep it standard and as up to date as possible?
If standard, follow manufacturer directions, if modded, research here very carefully before doing anything.
I have the same question. My Axon 7 2017G comes from Gearbest. I do not want to root it (compay policy) but would like to upgrade to Android 7, but only if it improves the phone (notably battery life). Any suggestions? Where can I download the upgrade package at ZTE, since I found different ROMs on their website.
I currently have android 6.0.1 with security patch level of 01/01/17 (very old I think). And in the update section it tells me that I have the latest version.
Your help and advise is very much appreciated. Thanks
