I really tried do find a way to do this but I can't.
I have Carbon Rom 4.4.2 for p705 but I have a p700 and as Carbon's doesn't have OC they recommended to flash Cr3pt's kernel but the only I could find was a boot.img. In flashify it says that boot partition can't be found..
So can anyone send me or teach me how to flash a .img file or get me a easier to flash kernel if that's possible thanks...
You can't flash it like you usually do. Boot.img are a CWM backup so you need to go to backup/restore and choose advanced restore and the navigate to the boot.img and start the restore process
Hope that helps and make sure it's a file matching your device and your current rom.

One more thing, you can also use the file to overwrite the one in the rom zip file using 7zip or winrar

And I can flash the ROM without losing my data and settings?

No and yes, I'd you flash the rom first you'll be fine. The rom zip contains boot.img so if you first restore the boot.img it will be overwritten if you flash the rom second. Therfore you should replace the boot.img in the rom zip.
How it helps and clarify the situation

reflash my rom for example then adb pull whatever you want to edit
then put in zip with an update script and apply in recovery
then create a backup in recovery and that system img and boot img is what you can upload for other people to install
dont give the data img because its personal

Will someone be kind enough and upload their unmodified build.prop file (JWR66Y).
Thanks.

I found a tool here and extracted the image via linux reader. Replaced the build.prop file and when I restarted my phone it went completely blank.
The google logo also did not show. I think I bricked it

Did you set the correct permissions (rw-r--r--)? Maybe this is the problem.
If your phone doesn't boot, restore a nandroid backup or flash a ROM

No I did not set those permissions. Just replaced the build.prop file. I don't know what nandroid backup is but I have TWRP installed.
PS: The phone is still on the blank screen.

If you have a ROM in sdcard flash it, if you haven't you have to flash a ROM with adb sideload or a factory image with fastboot (the factory image will erase your data!)

Thanks, I m going to flash 4.4 stock rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535728
Alright, quick update:
I used adb sideload to flash the rom from my above post. Worked like a charm, and I have Kitkat running with root. Also, no data was lost.
First thing I am gonna do now is backup my build.prop and data
Thanks for the help.
Cheers.

Great!
I made the same mistake before, when I hide the softkeys
just for reference, you could have fixed it easily, just by using TWRP's File manager:
1. Mount System
2. Replace with the original Build.prop inside the system directory
3. Click the file -> Change file permissions chmod 775
Greetings-
I am able to root, and install twrp on my phone just fine. But I am not having much luck with Clockwordmod. I found this link which is a very organized, and comprehensive list of software including CWM. It points to this one, which points to this. My question is I don't know which file to pick. And for some reason Odin does not recognize the one I downloaded. I tried to flash the file with flashify, but I get into a boot loop. Can anyone point me to procedures and files which worked for this platform? I am running N900PVPUCNC5_N900PSPTCNC5_SPR. The main CWM site only seems to have the latest version, which is not odin compatible, and I am not sure if it works with my phone's software. I think it is meant for lollipop?

If you have TWRP why do you want CWM? They do the same function.

Thanks. My understanding is I can not flash a zImage with twrp, but I can do it with CWM. Is that not correct? The reason I just want to flash the zImage is I want to eliminate some of the steps, and see why my image does not work.

I'm not sure what a zimage is - but normal image (img) files can be flashed in TWRP.
zimage is the kernel .
I am afraid this does not help me. Don't mean to be unappreciative. I have done some research, and saw somewhere CWM can flash zImage. I have not seen the same comment about TWRP; I tried it regardless. TWRP does not recognize zImage format. I have looked into reformating the file, but I have to rely on scripts, and I am not sure if the issue with my image is in the packing stage or something else. I want to be able to replace the packing step with a tool like CWM, which is already verified. This is important for me, since I want to make sure I am not doing something wrong and messing up the file when I pack it. Can someone please help? The original question stands; has anyone successfully put CWM on this platform, and if so please share the file(s) and procedure(s) with me.
Well I have had CWM on my n9005, which doesn't help, but have you tried on the Sprint forums? There's n900p CWM Recovery and a search brings up a number of threads to check.
One immediate thing that jumps out is it recommends using Odin 3.04 - maybe it doesn't work with other versions?

Thank you so much. I'll give it a try. I hoped for a more recent version of CWM. I just found out that I can use flashify to flash .img files; so I am gonna try that on my recovery.img file I just built. That may fulefill my requirement.
Thank you so much for the help.
After Root and Install TWRP, when I want to wipe the data accidentally I also delete the system, and when I want to reboot the device there is a notification "NO os installed! are you sure wish to reboot?"
What should I do? sorry I'm still new to this.:crying:
thank you in advance
I think you need to flash system.img back
I don't think I seen anyone upload system.img for this phone here

You have twrp. Flash any available custom rom or modify the Updater script in stock rom and flash it via twrp.
Go to this thread for instructions regarding editing the updater script.

After flashing the stock rom flash the decrypt zip too.
