[POLL] What Made You to Buy / Pre Order / Like Xperia Z?

Just like the title- what made you to like XZ and buy or pre order the phone?
For me, I just liked everything of Xperia Z. but waiting for price drop!

I desperately need an upgrade as my arc s is to slow for my usage, my contract was expired in august but didn't like any phone at the moment enough to upgrade. I was tempted by the one x+ but I like the looks better of the xperia z and it is more up to date. I think any 2012-2013 high end phone would be good enough for me so I have the luxury of just taking the one I like. When the One was presented I was thinking of switching but that phone just isn't for me.

I own x10mini, which i say unusable, lags on almost everywhere. :/ It was time to change my phone too, and i saw news about ces13, talking about how wonderful XZ is. I just like everything of XZ

I like Shiny things

Best looking handset i have ever seen simple.

i bought the xperia z, because i had a pretty good experience with the xperia arc s. I also like sony's ui, i think it's much better than touch wiz.

i love design, build quality, performance, sony ui ...amazing phone!!!!

Well everything, but the Design & build quality gave it the edge over the competition.

Fancied a change from Samsung and HTC, the more I see the XZ it makes me think how beautiful it is!
Really Sony have put out all the stops this year, I think it's the best looking Android phone and I want a premium handset that not only looks the part, takes decent pictures/videos too!

I'd say the Z1 did VERY well considering that we are a smaller community than many of the phones listed on there. We (barely) beat the LG G2 and were way ahead of the Galaxy S4! I'm a bit surprised that the Xperia tablet Z isn't there on the tablet side though, I'd list it as one of the best tablets that you can buy right now. Anyhow, good job Sony Z1!

The Tablet Z isn't there because they forgot about it when making the poll, even so it actually got roughly 8% of the votes by write-in which certainly says something about its popularity I think.

Well, Nexus 5 would obviously be on number one. It's nice to see our phone is on the top 3

I am really happy to see this results.also I actually prefer my z1 instead of HTC one because of more power full hardware and nexus 5 because of sd card slot,camera,brand!! ))

Am surprised the Note 3 beat the Z1 instead of the G2. if anything i'd have expected it to be the other way around.
Note 3 is in the phablet space, the G2 is a more appropriate rival to the Z1.

And the only tablet besides the Nexus series that has a stable CM.
Why the note 10.1 (2014) attracts so much attention is a surprise as the previous note 10.1 model is still quite capable.

Best tablet nexus 7 !? People are crazy or they vote for the device they have, or the cheaper one instead of the better of the year, how nexus 7 which is a piece of ugly plastic could be better than tablet Z ? Crazy.
If they really forgot about it in the people poll then something is wrong with xda considering they made a Xperia Tablet Z competition some weeks ago...

XDA people vote for nexus because it's the most easily moddable, that's probably why.

I'm quite surprised the Z1 made 3rd place. In order for a phone that's not commonly sold in the USA to score that high on US-centric website it has to be exceptionally good not just good. Well done Sony.

Z1 is great and if the votes keep coming it`ll be 2nd (I can see the appeal of Nexus 5).

Thanks for sharing irimas. second leak of the same design. to me it looks to be z3. the design look fine to me but i'll have an opinion after seeing the whole device in higher quality pics, not these purposely blurred once for obvious reasons. with that said, my next device if probably z4, not this one, but it's nice to see the design as this should share more or less the same design with z4.

how could the hardware probably be different from the Z2 ?
Snapdragon S805 ? and more ? 5.5" screen ? maybe in 2560x1440 ? still 3gb ram !

Wondering why one of two is always ugly...
Z was great, Z1 not, Z2 amazing, Z3 awful...

You have screenshots in OP where you can read it's still S800/801 - I really hope S805 will be available for Z3 - it's not good to have three-four devices with a same chipset (same/similar or old cpu but overclocked - to higher values, of course)

we should see S805 for Z4 in MWC 2015...
and they still didn't increase the camera pixels for Z3,Z1 & Z2 already 20.7MP...

To be honest, I don't see a need to upgrade higher pixel for the camera. What's more important is the optimization of the camera in my humble opinion.
Also, as long as Sony continue naming its flagship Z3,Z4 and so on, then I believe it will continue the omnibalance design of the Z. Usually Sony introduce a new product name if it comes with a new design. Then again, its just an opinion of mine.. I could be wrong.
Regarding the S801, if Sony were to use it on Z3 then Z3 would be the last flagship of the Z line. Since they will look to clear all their SoC stocks.
Personally, if Z3 is released similar to what the leaks are, then Z2 would probably the best option to stay with.

is it me, or are these phones getting too damn big? the Z3 is the size of a NOTE 3! come on Sony, that's nuts. do what you want with the Ultra for a phablet, but please, keep your phones at a reasonable size. the Z2/GS5/M8 are already a bit beyond what i think is "too big" (perfect size would probably be a GS4).
why not:
1. make the bezels and top and bottom smaller -- instead of bigger!
2. increase earpiece/speaker volume from the Z2
3. put a next-gen CPU/GPU combo in it, but maintain standard HD resolution. (forget about pointlessly chasing 2K pixels on a bloody handset like dumb LG/Samsung are trying to do)
4. use Gorilla Glass 3 (or 4, if that exists by the time of release)
5. optimize the camera software/hardware so that 20MB photography isn't only manual
6. increase brightness of the screen for outdoor viewing
7. make 64GB and worldwide LTE bands standard issue
this would be perfect.

Yeah they honestly are coming way too fast IMHO. I guess it will mean the prior model will be cheaper if you are OK waiting 8 months from release...

On the upside, HTC, Samsung, and LG have already done their flagship releases for this year, so they only have to worry about the Galaxy Note (not a direct Z3 competitor) and the iPhone (which frankly isn't going to be cross-shopped). The Z2 got lost in the shuffle earlier this year, didn't quite stack up against the others, and none of the US carriers even bothered to pick it up.

I am waiting for Z3 coming to T-Mobile. I have Z1S now.

Z2 was awesome but it slid like hell
Until I dropped it at the bottom of Ephemerisle, my Z2 was an awesome device, and I loved it much over the Samsung Galaxy S5 that I have now.
The only problem - it was WAY too slippery. I'd put it on any slightly not straight surface, and it would slip. Off the couch, off the car seat, off of everything.
Has this been fixed in the Z3?

they are glass on both sides so unless they make rubber glass, no.. i hardly see this as an issue. i mean, it's either a cheap rubber plastic phone or a phone made of quality material. sometimes you just have to make some sacrifices..

wonder what will happen with the Z2 price. they can't have both phones at $700, and they certainly shouldn't charge more than that for the Z3.

I guess i know how you z2 owners feel now. I have the note 3 and the 4 did not impress at all. Z3 is probably my next phone due to the ps4 feature so there is no reason to buy a vita. Wonder how much it will cost in the us?

That's good news. I don't wanna buy a T-Mobile one if it has their branding all over it though. I'd rather get one from the Sony store unlocked if possible.

Did you watch the video? I didn't see Tmobile on there at all except on the start up. Unless they brand it later on down the road.

You may be thinking Verizon there, T-Mobile generally doesn't go that crazy with the branding.

I wouldent see why not the device would be so powerful, they have had some tough market recently and although sony isnt one to faulter in quality (exept Z2 hiccip)

The main reason wich made me buy a smartphone now was the genius design of the XZseries, but since the Z3 they go this ****ty casual rounded borders way wich just looks as every other Iphone.replicant...
When I look at my naked Z2, damn I get a tech.boner with nice crispy borders looks like a chocolate.bar! Yummyyummy
And hopefully the Z4 comes with an Ultra version thats the only thing I miss bout my Z2 make them bigger, I anyways charge daily whats the point of small screen for the sake of 30% battery over the night so u have to charge in the mifdle of the next day xD
I also had seen an Z4 design earlier wich went more onto my desired way of design but i think it was a phantom....Ill post a link when I find it later

The Z4 will be almost the same as Z2. There are pics of the Display and the stereo speakers that are the same as our Z2's ( : So Sony heard us about the sh..ty Z3 design at least. I love my Z2 design also..Its just..stylish and elegant :fingers-crossed:

Saw it yesterday.Pitty that sony got hacked and now an info is leaking so early..but yes its better then the (Sony's iphoned version Z3).Thank god they are bringing back the z2's stereo speakers model as well.
