Black lines on screen (warranty?) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have a big problem, after flashing a new ROM these lines appears on screen, I tried to change ROM but it's the same, if I take a screenshot there is no line, it's surely a hardware problem :'( does anyone have the same problem? And if I restore my phone will lg accept it in warranty? I hope someone can help me, sorry for the poor English. Thank you.

Flash stock rom via download mode, and then check.

I'm doing it... Black lines are even in the download mode interface

After flashing stock rom, do a factory reset, I guess that will remove all the traces of root from the phone

Finished... Now download mode says "unrooted"... I will try with the warranty

I just had this happen to me, could you tell me what ended up happening? Where you able to get a replacement? Thanks.

I brought the phone where I bought it and they replaced the screen for free thanks to the warranty.

Thats awesome, I unrooted and went back to stock, took it in and I am getting a replacement tomorrow. The first thing the tech did was go to settings to see if I was rooted

which your did you flash?

I was rebooting onto recovery and the same happened to me, each day i'm more disappointed with this phone!

This problem can be fixed by removing the battery for some minutes, but with our G2 it is not so easy, so the warranty is the best way...

what about draining the battery to 0?

I had the same problems sometimes with my lg p880. Removing the battery fix the problems 100%. So I think it could be the same here, but it is so sad lg don't make the battery removeable...

So you flashed the stock factory image? You need to follow the instruction completely so that everything is at factory status. If the problem persists, then its definitely a hardware issue. Can you still RMA?

yes, I've flashed bootloader , radio , system , userdata , boot ,recovery and erased cache, I'm not sure how to RMA?
btw I don't think this is a hardware issue, because it doesn't happen in bootloader screen :/
Hi, go into the bootloader by pressing all the buttons and holding them down at once while the screen is off. Go to recovery and flash a stock ROM.
Did this happen before you flashed Cyanogenmod? Did you drop your device and cause flickering?
It's probably a problem with hardware and not software and caused by some reason.
Here is the page for RMA: (replace your device)
http://support.google.com/googleplay/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2411741#other
Good luck
i dont see the recovery flickering ... so i would assume its not a hardware defect.
get a factory image from googles page, install fastboot and abd - and click "clickme.bat" inside the zipfile. you need to boot into fastboot mode before that ofc.
btw it happens even in recovery mode....... any ideas?

so is it a soft or hardware problem
can it be fixed:crying:?
Hey, it just happened to me randomly using ELE rom.
I of course freaked out nicely.
I had my PA Nandroid, which I restored. Still had a light flicker (in CWM too), and turned of the phone for a few minute since it was so hot.
Now it s all OK.
Only thing I can think of is that I tried USB fast charge (which I never did before). Could it be that? did you also had that ON?

Screen usage problem?

Display Problem [N9005]

I have a Note 3 N9005 which was working perfectly fine until fews days back it's display started showing this pattern (as shown in photo). It gets normal, once I restart the phone.
So guys I want to know whether it is a hardware issue or is it some problem with my ROM?
PS. Im running it on official Lollipop ROM flashed using Odin, but not updated OTA.

That doesn't look good at all mate. Seems like something wrong with the panel, hardware, yes. Because no ROM is out there which could create a mess like that. But I would be more than happy to be wrong.

You may have some corrupted system files.
- Please factory reset your phone (through android settings), flash ROM again (KSA or NEE lollipops are fine), reset your phone again, this time in recovery.
- If again doesn't work, remove battery from your phone, keep pressing your power button, and leave it without battery for a few hours.
Place your battery back in and hope for the best.
- You may also consider also that your battery may be defective.
- If nothing solved your problem, try reverting back to KitKat.
If after all these options, nothing solved your problem, that it's very likely to be hardware related.

I have the exact same issue, initially it was just a few lines not the complete screen, but now its exactly the same case as of your's. I am sure its a hardware issue, i have tried everything format, stock, reset knox etc. nothing worked. it started after a few "very humid" rainy days, so i guess it is due to humidity, i am thinking of a screen replacement.
what have you done till now?
I just took the phone to a local repair shop. The guy replaced the main board and it just worked perfectly.
The problem was basically with the board and not with the screen or ribbon.
I was offered repair of the current board for 40$ and replacement of the board for 100$.

AICP ROM?

Not necessary in this case. Will actually result in the same issue. The Nexus Player on CM based ROMs has this bug. It'll get to "Optimizing Apps...", and sit there eternally. No known fix, and the guys at CM said that TV devices aren't a priority, so the bug won't be fixed most likely.
All you need to do to work around it is to get to that screen, unplug, and replug. That simple.

I am very happy to find aicp builds being made for the Nexus Player!
However, after install of the latest nightly, I get a lot of weird behavior. Trying to navigate around the ui I run into instances where things just don't work or fail to open. Screen kind of sits blank and I have to back out and go back to my selection once or twice before it draws what I am attempting to open.
I had same hang on finishing boot, unplug and replug fixed. Tried to boot back to recovery and flash the gapps from pure nexus() but after rebooting, constant FC's of play services. I tried to run the initial google setup, but things became unusable and wouldn't let me login to my google account.
Has anyone had better results? And what gapps can be used with this?

Don't make a thread if you already fixed your issue! Unless you had something important to share with other users, this is pointless.

well you've formatted your whole phone and on complete stock then nothing else you can do. send it in for warranty if not try a custom ROM to fix it.

Use the official method to flash factory image of 7.1.1. That is: use the flash-all script with a recent Google SDK.
