Anyone having issues with WiFi not connecting in TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 v2.5?

I just installed this ROM on my HTC HD2 and now my WiFi won't connect it keeps trying to obtain an IP address but then just eventually disables it because it can't.
I know my Router is fine and my WiFi is up and running because I am using it now on my home PC in this forum.
Anyone else running into this issue or have a suggestion on how to fix?
Its mentioned a few times in that roms thread, you should ask in there.
I can't don't have permission yet as I don't have 10 posts. I did try to search but couldn't find it.

Works fine for me...
Hmm this is the first time I've ever ran into an error that wasn't a know one IE Google Voice Search not working on 2.4.5. I ain't got a clue what is wrong with it or how to fix.
No one else is having this issue?
I have this exactly the same issue! And also I cannot ask this question on that thread
So this is definitely a ver 2.5 issue. I switched back to ver 2.4.5. The wi-fi immediately work!
Then I got to v2.5 again. Wi-fi failed again.
I am.... not been able to find a fix though

This ended up being the fix for me
I never updated the partion as mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951 which is needed for version 2.4.5+.
Download:
-135M System CWM (Required for v2.4.5+) - http://www.multiupload.com/5VH6M9XM8B
download the zip file to your pc.. unzip it,then run the program in admin mode..
on the device hold down the power and enter usb flasher...
now start the update..
once this has finished flash 2.5 and it will work.

Tried that - didn't fix mine

[Q] WiFi and Bluetooth Problems

This is my first time using a custom ROM and I have experienced problems. I used the GingerIceJelly (Kernel) Custom ROM
When I first flashed my android:
its seems to be working perfectly at first. But as I tried the Wifi, I encountered a problem. I was able to connect to a secure Wi-Fi hotspot. But the problem was that it does not transmit data (internet). I have tried to connect to other Wi-Fi connections (with or without security) but still cant transmit data. Other devices that I used to connect to those routers where able to have internet/transmission of data.
After reading the thread again, someone suggested to have it reflashed. So I reflashed it again.
2nd Flashing of same custom rom: (followed the instructions obediently and diligently)
Bluetooth wont work anymore (especifically wont switch on). I have tried switching it on through the notification bar and at the settings but the results were the same. It says "error"
Wi-Fi problem solved but bluetooth seems to have problem now.
Thank you in advance for your help guys!

Thanks for the reply sir.
Well, I decided to reflash for the third time. Bluetooth now working perfectly and was able to send files normally. But the WiFi problem still exists. I tried your solution sir. But still no change. Wi-Fi can still connect but still no transmission of data. Same goes with the other networks I've tried.
Thanks anyway sir.

Android 4.4 : WPS Failed. Please try again in a few minutes.

Hi. I had installed Gummy 4.4 ROM and was able to connect to wifi with no issues. Just suddenly, the wifi gets disconnects and can't connect anymore. everytime I try to disable the wifi and or forget the network, it fails to forget or connect, it does not show any other wifi available anymore. The error that shows is :
WPS Failed. Please try again in a few minutes..
I tried re-flashing the ROM but still the wifi does not work anymore. I have not tried to fresh install the ROM ye.
I would appreciate any suggestion how to fix this.
Thank you.
No choice but to fresh install the ROM.
After setting everything including all apps and was about to nandroid backup it and inadvertently touch the wifi icon under the settings and the error came back again.
Tried to re-flash to recover but failed.
How can I fix this issue?
the only option I see is to fresh flash the ROM.
Thank you.

might try the cm nightlies, they run good on my i337
gummy seems to have more issues than the nightlies for some
not sure if gummy has a wifi fix
What did you do to fix. Same error on s3 t999

Remove battery
I had the same issue on a different ROM, when reboots did not fix the issue and was driving me nuts.
The good old trick of removing battery and rebooting did the trick. Hope it helps you.
Guys I was having this issue, and I found a fix that worked for me.
The Wifi on my last rom was working fine, as was on my current rom, until I switched on a setting, "Enable wireless display". It was the only common thread between the two, and as soon as I turned it on, I lost Wifi and got the "WPS failed" message when refreshing networks.
Once I turned off "Enable wireless display" (and rebooted with fixing persmissions, not sure if that's a necessary step), I had working Wifi again.
Settings > Display > Cast Screen > uncheck "Enable wireless display"
Hope this helps some of you.

Thanks! great job!, I was about to flash a new ROM, this was driving me crazy. I spent almost two hours trying to fix this with no luck. (rebooted many many times, power off, wipe dalvik, fix permissions, remove battery, etc)
P.S: When I disabled "Enable wireless display" I rebooted without Fixing permissions and it worked, so it seems it's not necessary.

[Q] Problem with WIFI, freeze and reboot after time of sleep (Also in secure mode)

Hi, I never root my phone or flash a custom ROM.
The problems was started when I flashed a new ROM from sammobile of another country, my phone comes with 4.2 and I flashed a 4.3.
I flashed newer ROM from only Vodafone-Spain (only those really are my official supplier), and then I update ever with Samsung KIES, (no Knox counter)
So, with Andorid 4.3 I had more problems than now with 4.4, now the only problem is with WIFI
I can use normally, with screen ON, the problem is when sleep for a long time (more than 1 hour) when I touch a button I see the unlock screen, but does not seem to work the touch screen, and screen go off after a seconds, if I touch other button the screen don't go on. And then, after aprox 30s it reboot itself, and show a window telling that the Process System is not responding, do you want to close?, and two buttons, close or wait.
I tried to start my phone in Secure Mode and I have the same problem, so it is not an app, it is the ROM.
I do at least 2 Factory Reset, but the problem is still there.
I think it is a software problem and not a hardware problem, because the problem start when I update to Android 4.3
I tried the trick WIFI Power save Mode OFF (on dialer, *#0011# -> WIFI -> Power save mode OFF) and never reboot automatically, so the problem I think it is with this power save mode. But if I turn off, when WIFI is ON, the battery drain fast.
In the samsung shop they tell me that first will format my phone to see if the problem solve and try for a time, if not solve, then I have to send by mail... and I will not send it because I know the time it will take to repair it is about 1-2 months and I need the phone for my work.
So is there another solution or something to try?

Since the first ROM (4.2) I flashed 3 or 4 ROMs from SamMobile, so I am not very optimistic. But I don't lost nothing, I will try it
I flash again the ROM, and after 2 days testing, the problem is still there.
Any other thing to try before send to samsung?
Please, give me another idea to try. I really have a problem with WIFI
This is how Wifi (some times) drain my battery when are not connected to a network. But the problem is worst when is connected, because it freeze and reboot.
Hello! You could fix the problem? I took suffering the same problem as your months, and I have not been solved, I'm for kicking the **** mobile! As may give so many problems with the wifi?

Yes I solve. So.. I don't solve it, it solve it self. One day I saw that I don't had wifi connection, then I saw that I don't any WIFI names stored, all was erased automatically, I don't know how.
But the result it, I don't have anymore a freeze or a reboot because wifi. ALL, absolute ALL run fine now. I had a lot of WIFI names stored, about 30-50, maybe this was the problem, a conflict with some of these names, but I'm not sure
No one update, reflash, factory reset, or start in safe mode was solve any problem, the problem solve it self... very strange.
If you try a factory reset, then don't restore all your mobile config. Try to install all apps manually, one by one. I ever restored my backuped config, and I think this was the problem.
Hope you can solve it

Thank you very much for answering so quickly.
Happens to me exactly what you do, but seems to have no solution.
I have tried more than 8 roms, stock or mods, and always fails.
At first I thought it would issue the modem or kernel, but after many tests, I do not ****ing know what is causing the problem.
I'm running out of solutions, anyway thanks for telling your case...
I'm glad that in the end one way or another, you have it fixed.

What happens when you fully wipe, flash a 4.4.2 rom, don't restore anything, not even your google account and don't install any apps.

Thanks for your interest! The truth is that it is very strange ...
If I remember correctly, already try what you mention me, but I kept going ... It's like at some point something had happened which change roms not seem to solve..
I'm considering installing a rom with 4 files and pit file, but do not know if this will help in something
Let's see if I can come up with the bug because it is becoming a pain in the ass
:good:
I would try what say Lenny1988. So the only change before solution and after solution, was a big crash on WIFi drivers/app/modem (don't sure) it self, and was deleted all my stored wifi access points that I had. It was a problem related to Wifi power save, if I disabled it then I had no reboots/freezes.
So, I would try a factory wipe and DON'T restore anything, and try for a couple days. If work, then you know a way to solve it.
Tell us if it works.
Hello there! I will update with the latest news!
I tried the recommended advice, but no luck...Not seem to affect him leave without restoring.
The only thing that seems to work and keep it running, is to disable wifi power saving system
you know....
Code:
1. Go to your phone dialer
2. Dial *#0011#
3. When you see the "ServiceMode" screen, press the left menu button
4. Select "WiFi"
5. See that "Wifi Power Save Mode" button that is "ON" - well turn it "OFF"
But this way drain your battery much faster,so it does not seem a good solution to the problem.
Curiously, the same phone, some people suffer this problem and others do not....
It may be hardware? or software?
If I find something, I'll note here.
Regards

Phone not found in Device Manager after root [CF-Autoroot]

I recently rooted my phone by the latest version of CF-Autoroot. Instantly after reboot Android Device Manager started crashing all the time (as well did Play Books/Movies/Papers). I inactivated Play Books/Movies/Papers and reinstalled Device Manager, after that crashes stopped.
But here my problem started, I noticed that my device was not found in the Device Manager (I checked both on app and on PC to be sure). I googled and searched on XDA and found some related problems from people that experienced the same problem after flashing customs ROM:s.
On THIS site i found an instruction how to fix this issue. I tried it and got my device back in DM again and everything seemed to be working fine, but a couple of hours later I again noticed that my device was not to be found in Device Mananger.
Today I tried the same procedure two times, both resulting in that my device was not to be found in Device Manager at all, not even for a little while. I also tried installing latest version of Play Store 6.7.12 with no help.
I am running everything stock in my phone except that it is rooted and both Device Manager (and the three Play services that started crashing) were working just fine before rooting, the issues started direct on startup after rooting.
THOUGH, I need to say that everything else are working amazing, I really see this as a minor problem compared to what I gained. Thanks to Chainfire for this awesome and simple way to root :good:
With that said, anyone else experienced the same or similar issues?
Cheers
