HTC EVO 4g Headphone replacement jack - EVO 4G General

The headphone jack input for my EVO 4g is acted very strange all the sudden. Everytime I move the wire jack thats plugged in it started to cut out or stop playing music. Is there a place online that sells a replacement headphone jack input?
Thanks!

Bump anyone alive around here?

Yeah i asked about this a while ago because mine did the same thing. From what i read, the headphone jack is connected to the main board so it cannot be easily replaced.

Thanks for the response cullenmq1. What did you end up doing? I use my headphone jack all the time so I really need to do something about it ASAP was hoping it was a quick replacement like the loudspeaker....I do have insurance on the phone

[Q] Use the Fascinate in Place of a car stereo?

Hey guys and girls. Recently someone decided to steal my stereo out of my 96 GMC Sonoma So I have a big hole in my dash and I should be getting my pre-ordered Fascinate tomorrow, as soon as Best Buy gets them in
The question I had was whether or not anyone here has the knowledge or could point me in the right direction to allow me to use my phone in place of my stereo. I was thinking of getting a dash mount and installing it in the dash where the stereo once was and routing the charger underneath as well. What I don't know is anything about the 3.5mm out. I know you can plug a 3.5 mm to RCA to get video out. I read a story today of how QuickPay has come out with a credit card reader that uses the 3.5mm port. I haven't found a good site that gives the specs on the output of the 3.5mm port audio tho.
I have the wiring diagram for my trucks electrical system, tho it doesn't show the impedance of the speakers. I know with my guitar amps and cabinets those specs matters and don't want to fry my phone by connecting it to the speakers with a rigged 3.5mm out to home made harness. I'm assuming there is hardware in the stereo that amplifies the signal to allow it to play on the 6 stocks speakers, but i'm not sure. I'm proficient with a soldering iron and have no problem heading to Radioshack for parts.
I dont know. If its as easy as going from the 3.5mm out to splitting it to the speakers, that would be great and I can do that. If i need to get a small amp and wire it in between the phone and car speakers I can do that too. Any ideas, I'd be more that happy to hear them.
If there is a better forum to pose this question, let me know. Otherwise I appreciate you time for reading such a long post and any feed back you may have.
Thank you.
Rusty
I would say get a cheap radio from wal mart,(that has a line n for ipod or something with 3.5mm) hook it straight n to ur phone, at least that way u wont fry anything on ur pretty new phone. (No pun intended, i played with one yesterday they are gorgeous)

You could get a four channel amp, nothing more than 50 watts per channel, then go from 3.5 to rca, then get 2 Y RCA cables (female to males) and wire that up, but buying a head unit would be the best thing

[Q] Xperia Play audio jack issue

Hey guys!
Has anyone else experienced a faulty audio jack on their Xperia Play? The speakers work great, but when I plug into the headphone jack, it sounds very strange, like one of the channels isn't going though. When playing Michael Jackson, I can pretty much only hear the music without any vocals...
Also, I bought it from Best Buy, and apparently they said that they don't cover the phone after 30 minutes of use or something ridiculous like that... I was wondering if there was any way of resetting the minutes usage.
Cheers!

Nope... I've tried 3 different headphones and plugged them in as much as I could. Unless the body has faulty construction and is not allowing me to plug it in all the way.
Have you tried both handsfree and standard stereo headphones? I haven't had any problems with either on my phone but I thought it was quite interesting that the supplied headset didn't work properly in other 3.5 mm jacks where other handsfree sets work.

Headphone jack problem

I know this isn't the best place but I'm wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction. My headphone jack is loose, I have to hold my headphones in to keep it playing in both speakers. The headphones work fine in every other device. I want to solder the jack back into place as I imagine that's its problem.
Does anyone have experience doing this or have a link to a schematic of this inside of a desire z?
Thanks in advance.

You won't need any schematics. You just need to know how to disassemble the device and you will see how u should solder the adapter

my S4 headphone jack experiencing sound distortion...

I got my S4 few days, since my car able for Bluetooth audio, so its working fine on my car, but today I took my car for service, and I am using my s4 with aux cable on the loaner car, I found out that the sound was terrible, with lot of noise distortions, with it. when I back to office I am testing the aux cable with iphone 5, galaxy note II, and galaxy S4, only S4 have problem, and then I test it on my wife car, same thing, I guess I have a defective S4, does anyone having the same problems?

I am actually noticing some distortion on my S4 as well when using headphones. It is fine over BT in my car but when in the gym there is like a crackling noise sometimes. Tried different headphones and get the same result.
Did you find anything out? Defective device?

Thanks for posting this. This nose in the link is exactly what I am hearing from two different headphones from the same manufacturer, meelectronics. However when I use my wifes iPhone headphones or connect to her car via aux cable the sound output is fine.
I think I will try and return my phone to best buy for an exchange. ..

I did try couple phone already from ATT...While I am using headset is fine. Just having problems on aux cable. But after I am using noise reducing aux cable. It working fine. And I guess all s4 have same problem. You may just try to get noise reducing aux cable first before exchanging your phone. ..because you will get refurbished phone for exchange. .

Well I bought my phone from Best Buy, they have a 15 day return policy. I was on day 16 but they were kind enough to swap me for a new phone. I also have their Geek Squad protection so I could have gone that route as well. From the article it looks like its hit or miss on which handsets are affected. The new one I got is not affected and has no headset static unlike my old one. Guess I got lucky.
Great success!

That would make sense as the distortion effect apparently has to do with the impedance on audio devices. Low impedance devices are experiencing the issue. Find out what the Ω Ohm measurement is on the headphones from meelectronics. I know the Apple headphones are Ω23 so it is higher impedance thus not experiencing the issue.
Mine breaks I had to clean with proper alcohol the jack port and connector. No issues so far since then. I'm worried that would be damaged!

ahh, you're right, from the meelec.com website both my headphones show 16 ohms, not sure how to make the Omega or whatever sign that is.
Just noticed this thread while browsing the forums for the international S4

Safe to say that this is a major issue and Samsung will need to confront it at one point or another.
Yes I had this issue and luckily was able to get it replaced under warranty at ATT

Did the new one exhibit the same issues? This is supposedly an issue that effects any and all GTI9505 variants. Whether or not you hear it depends on the setup you use to listen to music off of the device.

Was the phone being charged? If so, that for some reason is the source of the problem. It worked on the galaxy s4 and LG G2.

G2 Headphone Jack In-Op

Is anyone else having issues with there headphone jack? I have tried several different cables and some are better then others but it seems like I need to twist the cable a certain way to get it to recognize it. I have tried blowing compressed air into the port to clean the contacts, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. My co worker also has a G2 and is having the same issues but to a lesser extent. I don't want to return my phone for warranty and get a stupid refusrb.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
Bump

I've had to poke my iPod's headphone jack with a needle many times as I've found the jack to have dust packed on the bottom. And btw compressed air didn't blow the dust away. If your headphone plug doesn't go all the way in, you could have the same problem.
