Hey guys, So I recently restored my phone to the factory stock and I noticed that there was bars for signal on my notification bar, but nothing showing up about my data. I tried rebooting and restoring yet again to fix this, but I had no luck. However, I can still make calls and text people using my phone, it's just that the mobile data won't function properly. Is there a way to fix this or am I stuck with only using Wifi for the rest of my time with the phone?
Have you checked your apn? Settings-more networks-mobile networks-access port names. What apn is active?
Your APN settings has got messed up. Search on how to set it correctly and also what to set for your carrier

Sometimes 3G is working fine, then for some reason it stops working even if the 3G is still switched on from the settings, but the 3G in the notification bar disappears...
I try to switch it off and switch it back on again... but doesn't seem to work.
I tried even restarting the phone but it doesn't work as well...
Anyone got this problem?

Yes I am getting the same thing! It's very annoying, my 3G/HSDPA etc was all working fine and now I have noticed it's not on at all. My setting is also set to ON. When I open up the internet it tells me this setting is turned off when it isn't.
When you say you tried restarting, do you mean you did a factory reset? I was thinking of trying that...
It would help if you said what country and network you're on. I had big issues with this on T-Mobile on the UK and I found out eventually it was the APN settings. Lots of people are posting almost correct information but getting the user and password wrong.
From the T-Mobile website it states

All I'd suggest is finding the APN settings on their website and making sure they're correct. If they are then maybe contact Vodafone and see what they say.

OK I've fixed it by resetting the APN settings to default.
When I went to the APN settings, the names of the connections had changed, they had a "_off" at the end. The only thing I think may have done this is when the phone goes into 'low power mode' it switches all data off. If I'm right then this is a bug as the phone doesn't change the names back again. Of course it could be something else.

it effects only my mobile data surfing. tried change APN settings and flashing any other rom, but none of this solved it.

I don't think this has anything to do with your phone, but rather your carrier. Are you sure you're subscribed to data?

I updated my phone about 5 days ago to the latest 4.3 and since then I've lost my 3g connection. It has been there a bit but today it's completely gone and hasn't come back.
Tried turning it on/off, switching to airplane, changing from WDCMA to GSM and running in dafe mode. Nothing works.
Does anyone know what the issue is and how to solve it?
I should point out I'm not very tech savvy and don't know all the lingo so go easy on me

Post a screenshot of Settings > About Phone and scroll to the bottom. Is your phone stock or rooted?
Check your APN under mobile networks. Make sure you have an APN .

I recently upgraded to LG G2 LS980. got the phone flashed it to Indian carrier.
I get the error message when i switch mobile data on "UNABLE TO ESTABLISH A WIRELESS DATA CONNECTION"
i tried to read NAM through DFS and saw PAP not set. i put all the required info and wrote it and reset the phone.
it just wont stick. the user name sticks but not the passwords. dont even have 1x working. net is only though wifi at the moment. my calls sms work fine.
any help would be appreciated.

Try updating prl and profile. Then if you have a custom recovery, wipe cache and dalvik.

I never realized my problem was due to network issues. No new device was registering EVDO, my dealer & friends tried everything under the sun to get the data working. Finally I called up customer care and asked, they said it's because of network issue, will ok after a day or so. It did.

so, the phone will not connect to the mobile network, the sim card is fine. it is not rooted or unlocked. it just says no service and has a X next to the signal bars on the status bar. i have tried many things to fix it with no luck. i have tried to switch airplane mode on and off, i have been in the hidden menu and tired everything in the modem menu, when i try to switch it to anything like cdma,gprs insted of just auto it says failed. thanks for the help. this has been driving me crazy.

Okay. I went through this a whole lot with this phone, and on almost every custom ROM it has. Lineage ROM is the only one that has worked for me right after install. I'm not sure why it does this as the APN settings that comes with the Roms are exactly correct. However you will not be able to get your full service until you manually add the APN settings in yourself. You can delete the 2 other APN's if you want. It really makes no difference. But you will literally have to make a new APN with the exact same settings as the 2 original ones in order for your DATA and MMS settings to work. Once you hit the "save APN" button you should see the 4g or LTE symbol pop on and everything will work just fine. Good luck. Let me know if you still have trouble.
