Beta 3.4
Updated librtmp.so to make more streams work (Thanks RedPenguin).
Changed default OSD button to Play/Pause instead of Subtitles.
Updated all Addons.
Hopefully Fixed Controller settings in OUYA version.
Minor Bug Fixes.
Beta 3.3
Updated Common Plugin Cache to hopefully fix the few having problems.
Updated Metadata TheMovieDB plugin.
Beta 3.2
Removed build.prop check completely (Thanks kandilak).
Fixed some remote control key bindings on non-standard remotes (Thanks alexagr).
Updated SuperRepo.
Added Fanart Slideshow option to Screensavers.
Removed Language button from OSD keyboard. It will be back in Gotham.
Brought back OpenGL Spectrum Visualization as an option.
Beta 3.1
Fixed missing dependencies.
Updated Subtitles.
Beta 3
Here is a list of some of the changes since Beta 2.9.
Fusion, Xfinity and Mashup sources are included by default. SuperRepo also included.
1Channel, Much Movies HD and Youtube are preinstalled and configured. I have included my own proxy to get around the 1Channel block in the UK, just select it from the 1Channel settings if you need it.
Lyrics, Subtitles, XBMC Backup, Missing Movie Scanner and Key Editor are installed and configured.
Main screen now has the Karaoke option and also has the Karaoke plugin installed and set up.
Option to use MX Player as the playback device in context menu (Local and Streams only, SMB does not work)
Family screen will now have main menu plus 2 sub menus (Animation and HD Family) which will auto populate as you add your Movies. The main Family menu contains only Family and Animation Genres, the Animation sub menu contains only Animation Genre and the HD Family sub menu contains only HD films of Family and Animation Genres.
Videos will only show the needed sub menus as sources are added to the Library(Movies, TVShows, etc).
Pictures now has a Slideshow sub menu and links to the backgrounds folder as an example.
The default layouts of each Window have been altered to use what looks best in my own opinion. You can set what you want afterwards.
Music Playback will now animate fanart automatically once you have some.
New cache settings which hopefully will be more compatible for everyone.
Update all addons.
Various other tweaks and changes.
Beta 2
Ok, here we go. Quite a few fixes and I have not had time to fully test all of it.
Fixed remote control movement in on screen keyboard.
Fixed context menu on long click of mouse/airmouse.
Added Fusion and Xfinity.
Changed RssFeed to BBC World News.
Changed Icons.
Changed Music Wallpaper.
Added Keymap Editor to Programs.
Added advancedsettings for cache.
Updated all addons.
Various other bug fixes.
Beta 1
Hardware Decoding
Mouse wheel support
New Graphics (Not finished yet)
A fully customizable version of Confluence skin as default. All other skins removed. (If you want it faster then enable minimum spec option in skin settings)
Audio offset by 250 ms to fix audio lag.
SuperRepo Included.
All addons brought up to date.
Install Instructions
Just install it like any other APK now with whatever build.prop you like.
If 720P does not work for you then this is not meant for your hardware. It was tested on RockChip Devices but appears to work on a lot of others.
Launcher version is only for roms that don't have a system bar. Auto hide function in any rom hides everything except anything classed as a launcher so it will show system bar if used on a normal rom. You could always rename SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.old and it will remove the bar completely but I don't advise it unless you know what you are doing.
It takes a long time on first run (about 2 minutes) while it sets everything up. The screen will go black and then it will go thru a few backgrounds, Just wait it out. It will launch normally after the first time.
If you find that the Interface it too slow on your device then go to Skin Settings and under "General" click on "Enable Minimum Specifications Settings".

Here is a test version for OUYA users only. This should enable smooth HD playback for OUYA users where the normal version doesn't but some old SD content might not work.

I've always been on xda mate and have my own roms released here. I just post on freaktab because that's where everyone is with these stick/box's. Xda is dead with these devices.
Glad you're enjoying it mate.

I have to say though Freaktab has a bit more freedom and tolerance level, you can get smashed up here in XDA for giving an opinion .
The sticks are going to be very Mainstream pretty soon, the Chinese manufacturers need standardize a bit and be more consistent and open. They fear being copied and yet all they do is copy around.
The overall "Android Stick Computers" may need a Freaktab moderator, that way no rights would be disturbed and a proper list of roms for devices would make it even in a single thread.

I've never been afraid to give my opinion
As for the copying going on I don't even take much notice of it. You have companies like Minix who are purposely going against GPL 2 and releasing custom versions of XBMC locked to their devices and wont supply the source code. They wouldn't get away with that on XDA for a second. The only thing I can do is inform people of their tactics and advise them against supporting them.

Problem on EVOLVEO Smart TV box Q4
Hi!
Yesterday evening i installed on my box the Beyond XBMC Beta 3.3.
On first run it seems all normaly. But if the startup process was finished and the menu appearing if i choose something the app goes black and nothing..
I waited 5 min and after i go back to home screen. try start again but only black screen.
After reboot i click on app icon it comes a black screen and immadietly close.
I can't start. Only after if i delete the user data and cache for application is possible to start again.
I try'd to "Enable Minimum Specifications Settings". One time i turned successfully this option, but after go back to menu frozen again...
Any idea?
Thankseter

I have absolutely no idea why it would do this for you. I have installed this on over 10 different bits of hardware and it worked on every one for me (except the amlogic playback but I knew that wouldn't work). There are loads of posts over on freaktab also and no one has brought up anything similar. The first install does take a long time and you have to wait it out but after that it should launch quick.
Lets try and find out what is different for you. What machine is it? What OS is it running? What chipset is it?

Now that should work for you perfect. It is basically the same device as most of mine.
Which beta did you download, the normal one or the launcher version?

Hi!
The normal version.
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app

Hi people, I discovered this version a short time ago, and I've to say it's the best I had trying ever. I strongly recommend to all of you to try it.
But only have a doubt, I can't do the "extrafanart thing" work, I mean, while I am selecting a chapter in a TV show, show a slideshow of different fanarts... I look for in all the settings and not find how it works. Can anybody help me? I hope you can understand me... My English level is awful . Thank you all, and specially for the developer for such a great job!

Reply to myself...
I connected the ZERO Devices Z4C Quattro to the computer as Massive Storage, copied the APK directly by USB and installed successfully from there.

Nice version of xbmc and lets hope this fixes my py errors in some addons.

I don't know why the official gotham version isn't up to scratch, but mate, you saved the day! The entire purpose of my buying the MK908 was to get XBMC on it. When the videos started lagging with the official version, I thought my money and efforts were wasted. But YOU SAVED THE DAY!
Any ideo how to get the media center remote working with MK908.

New video chat/conference software

I ported my ReelPortal video conference to Android recently. It's reported to be working on the Viewsonic G Tablet with certain ROMs. I believe it works on the Archos 70/101, but I don't know how well, since the G Tablet has the Tegra-2 dual-core CPU and the Archos don't.
Anyhow, my app is published on AppLibs, or you can get it from the G Tablet thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908613
Please provide feedback if you try it. Thanks.
Beware of firmware 2.1.3 (not sure if 2.1.4 is any better):
Kashban: I got word from one of my friends owning an Archos 101 (non rooted, latest firmware 2.1.3), that ReelPortal is very buggy and slow on it. I have no problems on UrukDroid based on FW 2.0.71 and still waiting for Uruk to move on to the new FW, so as soon as I migrated I will test again.
Thanks! I will try it out

Feedback
First of all: Nicely done.
I tested it between my HTC Desire, the Archos 101it and my Netbook running Win7 32bit using Firefox 3.6.x.
A few Things which may be improved from my Perspective:
Exit function:
Not prominent enough on Android: If you just chose to back out of the App, it's still running, including Video and Audio broadcast. This is good if you want to bring another App to front without breaking the Conference, but if you intend to disconnect, you have to longpress on the Screen, which isn't obvious at first. You may accidently broadcast on and on without knowing.
Proposal: If leaving the app by the back button, ask the user what to do: Exit Application or put it in the background with running video/audio or put it in the background with video/audio stopped and muted. If the App is in background and still sending, it should show this by an Icon in the status bar of Android. Don't know if that's a goal possible to achieve with Adobe Air. Otherwise you may be sending video / audio without knowing and giving away your privacy.
Regarding privacy: Is there a way to encrypt the Streams? If not, even with your own Server someone might spoof on the Connection (I know it's P2P, but nevertheless routed through internet relays).
Login screen:
Sometimes when writing into the Nickname / Room Fields a leading Space is added and the Strings are not accepted. Better strip any leading and trailing Spaces from the input Strings without bothering the User.
Terms of Service: Should be gone once I clicked "save" and changable by Options Menu.
Would be nice if the App stores my Nickname and the Room I used before
Moving Windows are fancy but not needed on the login Screen. I was more irritated by it.
The Conference Room:
Paused Video Stream of Participant: No indication whether the Connection has been lost or the Participant paused the Stream. Perhaps putting a Message on Screen for Paused Streams (and Muted voice) would lead to more Confidence in the Robustness of the Software and the Connection.
Size of Conference Room Items: On small Screens like my 3.7 inch one of the Desire the Chat Window Controls are too small. Everything else seems to be ok.
Video Stream Quality. How is the initial setting calculated? Is it depending on the current kBit/s or just an overall Default?
Anyhow, this is a good Piece of Software you developed here. I'm not familiar with other Solutions on Android like Fring or Skype, but it looks very promising given the Fact it runs on all Devices with Flash Capacity (even iPhones and iPads with the Packager from Adobe)
Best regards,
Kashban

If you press and hold on the main screen for 4 seconds, a pop up menu appears. It has the "Exit" and "Toggle Screen" buttons. The toggle screen suppose to toggle the screen between FullScreen and Normal (which is default to 800x480), but it doesn't work on Android because currently on Android, Normal equals FullScreen. I will look for other ways to get around it. Thanks for bringing it up.
For netbook, you can run it from a web browser at www.reelportal.com. Or you can install the AIR version via download link.
BTW, double-clicking on the main screen should also toggle the screen, but also not working on Android .

it needs to have Android 2.2, and Adobe AIR 2.5.1, otherwise it won't function even if you manage to install it, because the API is not there to access the hardware....also, if your device have 2 cameras, the current API only allow access to 1 camera (most likely the back one). Android 2.3 would allow access to multiple cameras.

thanks...well the camera resolution is currently set to low (320x240) just so the device won't bog down...my plan is to allow the user to select the resolution, in a future version...but i don't have an Archos, so i can't really tell its actual camera quality.

Definitely! Actually, the original settings was at 640x480, but when some Samsung Galaxy Tab user reported the device was crawling at 1 frame every 5 secs, I figured the tablet cpu may not able to handle it, so I reduced it for now. But I do want to make it a user adjustable control. Same with the frame rate.

can you describe your setup details, like:
- are you testing between the 101T and another PC or something else
- is there lag with audio only test (video turned off)
- is there lag with video only test
- and at which end (tablet or PC) do you see the lag
- are you using P2P mode (default), or client/server mode
thanks.
New Version (1.0.1)
i just added a newer (experimental) version in the first post of the viewsonic thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908613
Changes:
- option to save nickname and room last used (you can clear it by set the fields to blank, then save).
- added new field to enter the Server ip address, in case you want to run your own server (if not set, it defaults to the last used server)
- hide that annoying red TOS box when you check it, and click Save.
- when you enable the webcam, you can set its resolution and frame rate.
the web client is running the new version also. feedback please.

Introduction to the new Overclocking Daemon

This ROM features a completely new way of Overclocking and managing screen states.
The History
But before explaining it further, let's talk about previous solutions.
There are several different approaches to archieve "screen-state-scaling".
That means basically that the govenor changes if you turn the screen off and changes back to normal when turning the screen on.
This is mainly used to restrict the amount of CPU usage (the frequency in fact) during screen off. This can lead to a major battery life increase.
The solutions so far were:
App like SetCPU, which change automatically the govenor based on profiles
integrated solutions in the govenor itself
Both these solutions have major problems.
The one with a tuner app is always a little laggy right after turning on the screen because SetCPU (or any other CPU tuner) needs some time to change the govenors (up to 7 seconds). This leads mostly to major lag in the lockscreen.
The second solution is the smartass govenor. It has already a screen-state-scaling included, so it reduces the frequency when the screen turn off.
This could be a really nice solution but it has some problems too.
Smartass most of the time is not really stable and has problems with its frequency scaling.
State-of-the-art-solution
So we (more precisely rmk40) thought of a better solution.
He wrote a native C Daemon which changes the govenors instantly without any lag.
This leads to major performance improvements right after turning on the screen and in the lockscreen.
But at the moment this solution is a little bit harder to configure. We are plaing to make a GUI for this, so you get the same comfort as using SetCPU.
Nevertheless you can even now adjust the daemon to your needs.
Be aware that the daemon only works if all CPU tuner apps are deinstalled. Otherwise it deactivates itself.
How to adjust the daemon
Click to collapse
The daemon is configured with 6 files in the folder /system/etc/virtuous_oc/.
There are 3 files for the wake state and 3 for the sleep state. For each state one file for the govenor, one for the minimal frequency and one for the maximal frequency.
You can easily edit these files eg. with RootExplorer or any other app which can edit system files. So you can adjust the frequencies and the govenor for each state just like with SetCPU.
In order to get the available frequencies for the current kernel, just open your favorite terminal app and type
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies
You could also use adb shell to show the frequencies on your computer.
To get the available govenors use a similar approach:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors
Please make sure, you are entering the right values in the daemon's config files.
deejay, not to question your motives, nor your talent, because you churn out more ROMS than any other dev on the A500 forums, but whatever possessed you to port the Thrive over to the A500?!?!?
I had this tablet for three days last week before taking it back for a full refund.
The initial build had the "infamous" sleep bug built in right from the factory. Toshiba was aware of it, and as of last week were supposedly working hard to correct it.
It has a very nice stock video player in it, but other than that, IMHO the rom was horrid!
Knowing you, you've probably already worked the sleep bug out of it, even though the devs at Toshiba couldn't lol!
Wow! That was quick
Will be havin' a go on this
MJ-12
How come no other responses? This is either brand spankin new or after they run it it killed everyone!
PS. Just got home and found 1.1.1 of Xoom at 4% (from 85%) last night. It said Android took 54% and 19 hours of the battery.

lol You might want to give Toshiba a call, and give them some help then!
d/l now. I'll let you know how it compares to the actual ROM the thrive came with in a bit
im a little confused though- aside from an equalizer, what does this have to offer? And what are the possibilities of a super rom? As in all of the best features of all of your Roms in one?
1st little bug, stock file explorer doesn't see the external sd card. Notification in the lower right tray shows up as "sd card inserted", but the icons at the top of the stock file explorer do not respond to the external sd card. root explorer finds it in "storage" just fine though.
Have to format, wipe and reinstall with my "browser.apk" so I don't have to keep setting ua string.
bbl with more after re-install.
Ok here we go. Video playback on YouTube is the best so far on any ROM. All audio levels are great. I injected the browser.apk from your VP ROM, and no longer have to worry about UA string.
USB drive does not work at all. No notification, can't even see it in root explorer. The notification in tray for SD card states "SD Card Inserted", but when trying to view it in the stock file explorer, when you click on the SD card Icon (upper left), you get error "SD Card is not inserted", even though notification icon shows as being inserted. I can however go into Root Explorer, and R/W the sd card under "storage".
Going to play some more, just wanted to give you the few major bugs thus far. Great job on the first port!
m-deejay,
Why do all the roms try to load handcent at the begining? do you have them all linked back to your phone?
sd card don't work as well don't read music on it in media player
m-deejay how many tablet you have ????
when I see your release loooooks so easy to make a rom hahaha...
but I know it is not easy..
good job..
what's next ?
Virtuous Galaxoomthrissus ?

I'm not an expert, but I'm guessing that isn't very likely until source for Honeycomb is available (or ICS, as it may be by then)
Music keeps ghost playing from Toshiba music app. Also storage space is way off. Says I have almost 8gb of app but still have 12gb free???

Lol mine says "Total Space 14.91Gb"...."Available 22.75Gb"
Apparently I have more than 10Gb Available than the total space of the drive!
I wouldn't worry about the initial bugs, as deejay will have them ironed out pretty quick. I'll have to say that this is the best initial release you've put out so far, or anyone else for that matter! +100,000
More CrAzInEsS! Went into my external SD card to copy my gps.conf file for my country over to the etc directory, opened it up as text, and it appears blank (nothing at all in the file). When I bring that same file back to my laptop and open it, I has all the information in it that should be there.
While I'm no DEV, there is clearly something wonky (technical term few of you will understand lol) about the way this ROM is reading, or failing to read the SD card.
I can't wait to see this rom grow. I could really use that cool galaxy clock and weather widget. I'm also missing the screen shot button which was really nifty. Keyboard is really laggy for me.
Nice initial release. Can't wait for more.

[webOS] [GUIDE] Overclock the HP Touchpad to 1.9Ghz

This guide is outdated. Please refer to a newer guide
http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Testing_Feeds
UPDATED TO OVERCLOCK TO 1.9Ghz on BOTH CORES on your HP Touchpad!
[Disclaimer : Currently unixPsycho's newest Kernel supports 1.9 but a lot of units so far freeze when trying to reach that amount. Please stay on 1.7Ghz for now until more information arrives . BTW 1.7Ghz PWNS!]
Reported : UnixPsycho's Kernel as of 8/27/11 sometimes does not overclock the second core. This is widespread and many experience this. An alternate Kernel to download is Warthog. Warthog's Kernel can do 1.7Ghz on both cores. If Unixpsycho's Kernel does not work correctly for you, you can simply uninstall it VIA preware, restart your HP touchpad, find and install Warthog's kernel via PREWARE, and restart your HP touchpad again. This could be good for you as well
Link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLG7nlh8-eg
The TEXT version of the guide below is much better. I recommend you try the text version of the guide, and if you get lost, try to watch the video. The video is not as clear as the text version
And as always, I will not be held responsible for any damages that may occur from the usage of any of the information provided by this guide. The HP Touchpad is very difficult to brick and even then HP WebOS Doctor usually takes care of it. Just be careful and follow instructions. And also, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen

Overclocking your HP Touchpad
Relatively safe to do
No noticeable effect on battery (stock usually pulls 550mah and 1.5ghz is pulling like 565mah.
Touchpad becomes incredibly fast, fluid, responsive, and is a joy to use
No heat created
Overclocks both cores
Feels like you have next generation hardware after the overclock
Smooth like butter
INSTRUCTIONS
To make this as easy as possible, I will go step by step, every little thing you need to do. It seems like a lot but I get very detailed
Update your webOS to the latest version. Latest version is : 3.0.2
Bring up your menu > settings > System Updates > make sure it is fully updated
.
Connect your HP touchpad to your computer VIA USB. Make sure "USB Drive" mode is not activated. You want to only be on CHARGE mode. Click the USB icon on top and get out of USB Drive mode if it is in USB drive mode
.
Now, on the HP Touchpad's main screen, you will see a search box in the top middle of your screen. Inside of it, it says "Just type..." ... Inside of this box, type in the following using the on screen keyboard : webos20090606 . Now tap ON and turn it on. It will now ask you for a password. DO NOT ENTER ANYTHING IN THE PASSWORD FIELD. Leave it blank. Failure to do this will lead you to using webOS Doctor to fully reset your HP Touchpad!
.
Now it is time to install HP webOS Quick Install. Click here to install WebOS Quick Install.
This is a .jar file. It requires java to already be installed on your computer. IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE IT, click this link to install java.
.
Make sure your HP Touchpad is not in USB Drive mode. If it isn't, webOS Quick Install will quickly install a driver for your HP Touchpad. Allow it to do this. After installing the driver, WebOS Quick Install will now recognize your device. To know it is recognized, under "Device", "HP Touchpad" will be greyed out. Use this picture as a reference.
.
If HP Touchpad is not showing up try these : Restart your computer, double check to make sure you are not in USB Drive mode, and then ultimately try a different USB Port on your computer and recheck all the connections
.
Now hit the Globe Icon on the WebOS Quick Install program on your computer. This will bring up a bunch of applications that you can install. Search for PREWARE under the application list. High-lite it and click on the Install button.
.
Now grab your HP Touchpad, open up your applications menu and click on Downloads tab at the top, and search for PREWARE.
. Now with PREWARE open, tab PREWARE on top. On the drop down menu, choose Manage Feeds.
At the bottom of this menu, you will see NEW FEED. There are a few things you want to add here. You will need to type the name of the feed EXACTLY like how it is below. Also, you want to add the URL EXACTLY the same as well.
Lets start with the first one.
Name: webos-testing-all
URL:
Code:
http://ipkg.preware.org/feeds/webos-internals/testing/all
Leave the IS COMPRESSED toggled on.
Once everything is typed in perfectly, hit ADD FEED. It may ask you a disclaimer. Choose wisely. Once you have added the first one, now it is time to add the second one.
Name: webos-testing-armv7
URL:
Code:
http://ipkg.preware.org/feeds/webos-internals/testing/armv7
Leave the IS COMPRESSED toggled on.
Again it might give you a disclaimer. Choose wisely. Now when you have added these two feeds, go back to the main page of the PREWARE application using the back arrow. Now hit List Everything from the main menu options.
You want to find and download Govnah. You may need to scroll down a bit to find this. If you cannot find it, use the magnifying glass on the top right hand corner to type out Govnah. When you find Govnah, hit Install
Allow Govnah to install. Once it has installed, hold down the power button on your HP Touchpad and once prompted, hit Device Restart
.
Once the device has restarted, open up PREWARE. Lets add another feed. If you do not know how to add another feed, re-read the previous steps on how to add another feed.
Those using experimental kernels *must* follow the 6 rules at Testing Feeds - WebOS Internals
Name: webos-kernels-testing
URL:
Code:
http://preware.is.awesome.com/
Leave the IS COMPRESSED toggled on.
Now hit add feed. It may give you the disclaimer just like before. Choose wisely. NOW BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE, A RESTART IS REQUIRED. Hold down the power button until prompted for a restart and allow the Touchpad to restart.
.
Once the touchpad has restarted, open up Preware again. Now tap PREWARE on the top left corner of the application, and then hit "Update Feeds". Allow PREWARE to update its feeds.
If this fails or has any errors, you either mistyped the name, the URL, or did not immediately restart after adding a new feed. Follow directions!
.
After it has finished updating the feeds, on the main menu of PREWARE, tab List of Everything. Under List of Everything , find F15C Eagle (Touchpad). This is the Kernel that you will use to overclock your HP Touchpad. You are almost done! Install this kernel. After installing, IMMEDIATELY restart your HP Touchpad!
.
Once your HP Touchpad is restarted, you should be overclocked!
Now through the app called Govnah which you already installed, you can modify your clock rating on your processor and other settings that can significantly improve your performance. For the sake of this guide, we will leave these settings alone to prevent harm to our HP Touchpads
. I strongly recommend you NOT to mess with any settings inside of Govnah.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
In case of Emergency or failure to follow instructions...If you brick your HP Touchpad, have no fear, HP WebOS Doctor is here!
It is very difficult to brick webOS on the HP Touchpad. But incase things go bad, you should be able to easily fix it!
webOS doctor can fix virtually any problem you may cause to your HP touchpad. If things go wrong, follow these steps.
webOS Doctor is not necessary to overclock the HP Touchpad, it is simply a fix if things go wrong
https://ps.palmws.com/palmcsext/console/pages/LoginPage.iface
-From there, go to device options, and select webOS doctor. Once it's downloaded, run the program with your -fully charged- touchpad plugged into the -computer and like magic you will be back up and running!
More on recovery. If you are stuck in a loop or need a restart, try reading this : http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/How_To_Recover
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Cool so you have an overclocked HP Touchpad! Awesome job! Now here are a few other things you can do to really make it fly!
You can find these using the PREWARE application. Check under "List Everything"
Ad Blocker - Helps remove ads from your web browser. *warning, do not download more than 1 Ad-Blocker.
Remove Tap Ripple - Removes the tap ripple. Actually speeds up your Touchpad a little.
Increase Touchpad Volume - This can boost your Touchpad's volume a bit. NOT RECOMMENDED if you wish to retain speaker quality and longevity.
Advanced Reset Options - Gives you more reset options like "Restart Luna"
Faster Card Animations Hyper Version - Greatly increases the animations of your home screen cards. It makes a huge difference!
Increase Touch Sensitivity and Smoothness 10 - Makes touch more smooth, such as scrolling
Muffle System Logging - The HP Touchpad, stock, logs pretty much everything. It logs so much information that it actually slows down your touchpad. This helps stop that and increases performance!
Remove Dropped Packet Logging - As name implies...
Unset Cfq IO Scheduler - I don't know the specifics behind it, but it definately helps
Unthrottle Download Manager - HP download manager throttles download speeds. This removes it!
Private Browsing - As name implies, optional...

FAQs
CFS: Generally more consistent, use when you want consistent performance and/or if BFS kernels do not work well with your phone. Sometimes will appear to be smoother than a BFS kernel in overall use. The stock HTC kernel uses CFS and it is more standard than BFS.
BFS: Generally a bit faster but a bit more inconsistent (might appear to slow down more and such). Usually faster overall performance but will not look as smooth as a CFS kernel (in general).
Can't get the 1.7Ghz overclock?
Make sure your system is updated to 3.0.2 AND you followed the adding of the experimental feeds (pre.is.awesome) down to the tea* (add, restart, update feed).
How can I remove the overclock? :
Simply uninstall the Kernel via PREWARE.
Only one core is overclocking for me. The other one is not doing anything!? -
Try to set Govnah to "OnDemand" and not "OnDemandCTL"
With UnixPsycho's Kernel, you are actually able to choose clocks from 1.2 to 1.9 Instructions on how to do this coming soon.
Much thanks to Ncinerate and his Guide for originally teaching me how to OC the HP touchpad! TY!
If you see an error in any of this, please either post in this thread or private message me! I appreciate you helping to make this thread better
Also if you like HP Touchpad and want to represent with a nice forum sig, you can use the one I made

same reason intel or amd doesn't release their CPU's at the maximum speed that's available for that chip. to give them room for "improvement" on the next build, or for better battery life...
lots of different reasons...
anyways, i'm trying to load the feeds but they don't seem to load, I got the 1.5ghz kernel installed fine. not sure what I'm doing wrong

But this is a product that is by all accounts slightly laggy on the standard setup and the OP has seen no noticeable drop in battery life after the change so I am curious.

The main reason that processors are typically not clocked to their maximum capacity is that, if you develop a new chip that is capable of speeds around 1.7-1.8 ghz some of those chips will reach that plateau comfortably (probably with headroom) while others might start experiencing stability issues at 1.6ghz or 1.5ghz. Thus, when a company 'underclocks' a chip to 1.2ghz, it's normally at some arbitrarily decided 'sweet spot' where ALL the chips will be able to run cool and stable.
So while pushing the chip to 1.5ghz didn't create any stability issues (or excess battery drain) for the OP... some people may end up with TouchPads that are completely incapable of achieving stability at that speed. In reality probably 99% of Touchpads will have no problems at 1.5ghz (or higher). But companies tend to be pretty risk adverse when it comes to issues with overheating or stability.
Hi,
I can seem to find your version on the youtube video of the F15C eagle (touchpad). the one on my list is showing v3.0.0-19 and overclocks to 1.5
please help
Komi
the F15c that i had installed is running at 1.5ghz single core - please can you show me how to put on the 1.7ghz dual core kernal. I can't seem to find it on the list - it only shows F15c 1.5ghz
Have they taken this off?
@AmirReborn - I have added the name and http, pressed add then when promps comes up i selected ok. I have restarted and gone into preware, list all, and it is still showing the old kernel

Bonus Round:
http://www.maximumpc.com/files/u69/300mm_Wafer.png
Take a look at that. "They" say that the chips printed towards the center are the most reliable/overclockable (that a word?) as they take up the "prime real estate" of the wafer. Rumor has it... when Intel drops an Extreme Edition chip, they are normally hand picked chips from the center of the wafer.
MMMMMmmmmm... wafers and chips. /HomerVoice
i got 1.8 no problem with NOOP - but 2.0 no go. love it!
I just used the instructions here: http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Applicationreware (the "Installing Preware with WebOS Quick Install" section)
Then went with this guy's recommendations: http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touchpad/287848-my-hp-touchpad-seems-running-so-fast-2.html#post3027858.
It's like a different machine altogether. Playing with Govnah to OC and everything works great so far.

F15C Eagle UPDATED 1.9GHz!!
You need to update webOS(3.0.2 xx version) first!! I tried so many times then figured out it. If your device version is 3.0.0 xx, 1.5GHz is max and today, F15C Eagle updated 1.9GHz.

Just wanted to clarify that center isn't necessarily the most reliable and/or overclockable. Due to processing the wafer and doping levels of different materials, It's true that a lot of times the edge of the wafer has a larger than desired variation to the intended recipe, but often times the center will have the same issue as well. Often you can see the yield of the wafer will be a donut shape, where the edge and the center of the wafer is bad, and the good ones are in the ring.
I work in a company that deal with a ton of wafers and die (they aren't actually 'chips' until they're packaged up, before packaging they're called 'die' where I work), and I've seen all kinds of places where speed can be best. All depends on the tool that's doing the doping on that particular day.

Difference between this and the full one ? isnt it that light sensor isnt working?
This Looks Promising ..
Looks Awesome but looks can bediceving I am definitly trying this one!
EDIT:
This rom rocks! But uses to much ram:9
GOOD WORK
Hi bro...
Xperience light sensor has had a few bugs, It has now been re-worked & I've been testing for a few days now & all is good...
The difference between this rom & the full fat version is the full fat version has all apps unlocked to "Full" status... XDA Rules prevent us from doing this with our "Lite" release... Also, Full Fat version has all apps & Candy including little used system apps... "Lite" version keeps all candy but gets rid of useless, little used apps to maintain speed & stability...
Hope this helps to explain the differences between the two versions...

Hi Nikhil'Da Devil
Yes, A2SD will be working. It works fine for me using 3DX a2sd version, but my phone is not your phone, hehe We think the problem was linked to a script & that has now been edited, so all will be well...
Hope that helps bro ?
so many apps .

so many apps. so it is good have u tried concept rom yet if not try this
finally wait is over. will definately flash this one ;-)
that music app is available in the market right? correct me if i'm wrong. cause I'm pretty sure I downloaded that kind of music player from the market a plenty of months ago. its where you can just use the proximity "wave your hand in front of your phone" to activate the next feature of the music player. or even just tap your phone a bit hard or even shake to again activate the next feature.
i'm not here to make war. i'm just making sure there's no warez in it.
awesome rom tho. looks promising.
any reviews for this rom? will wait cause if there are bugs i wont flash. i hate flashing then restoring then blah blah. But still love the concept though ~

you are making war we already know xda rules from long time so we know what are xda rules and don't remind us. so if u don't like just keep this thread clean so that user can share his or her views and we can improve our version
looks nice
except status bar (no offence)
btw does this have something in common with VRD1´s rom?

It is worth mentioning that in this release, if we toggle the root ON, we can freely modify the system partition! No need for any custom files!
Does "Pokemon Go" app works with this version?
good update but remix os is still far superior.
@slybunda At what? I can also say my bike is superior without listing it's pros.
more stable and better 3d support
It all comes down to specific hardware @slybunda . On my devices Phoenix is more stable and has more features at the same time plus a better design. I personally don't care about 3D acceleration - android-x86 would be enough for games because those are usually ran in fullscreen, so no desktop UI needed.

I love your rom so much @Regnas I updated a port that already existed for the vzw gs4 just so I could keep using it for my own personal use. It's the best rom ever, 10,000xlove. Sorry that's a little off topic because it's not really the same rom. This is just the first post I've seen from you and had to shoutout some love
@tdct12 do have in mind that this is an official release by Chaozuo @Regnas does deserve the love for publishing it though

Has anyone had any luck booting this from USB? I have tried from USB and SD, but have had no luck. I was able to dual boot from my SSD drive, but it seemed to make my Win 10 OS lag a lot. I ran the installer and selected install to U, and let it install. I do have bios setup to boot from USB first and even tried it through the boot menu. It almost seems like the drive is not bootable though. Any ideas or thoughts?
Verification failed error 15. Any work around?
