Manually update to 6.2.2.

I have tried to install the 6.2.2 manually from the Amazon Website.
So i have downloadet the File and copy it to the Update Folder.
Now i have used the UPDATE Button. The Kindle makes a reload...and comes up again in the TWRP Menu.
So i make a reboot with the TWRP Menü, the same. Bootloop.
Is it not possiple to make a Update when TWRP is installed?
it is possible - but why do you want to do that ? - if the update from amazon installs then you loose fff, twrp and root
is'nt the nfx update that what you'r looking for ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452082
if you'r then still in the twrp bootloop then issue:
adb shell
idme bootmode 4000
reboot
Yes you are right. I have done the Update from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1452082 a few days before and everything seems to be fine. But today, i will use Titanium Backup and it tells me. "You need to have SU installed..." etc.
So i make a reboot ---> TWRP is no more available.
Now i have rerooted with burito3.apk, but some Apps now closing with some error messages. So i thought i will make a recovery with TWRP to 6.2.1 and install the Update from Amazon.
And reroot with burito again.
Or i will istall the update from the link above, again.
Has someone the same issue with the Updatefiles from the Link. (It works a few days and then.....i´m back on the 6.2.2 without root and TWRP.
the thing with the nfx update files is a bit a mess - look through thread - i think someone reupped it
your link says page not found
fc's:
did you do clear dalvik/cache in twrp after installing the update as written in the op of nfx ?
if this don't help simply reinstalling the app should help
in trying to restore to stock with the original amazon rom some people messed up their shell and needed a factory cable - i would avoid to load the amazon rom
6.2.2 with CM7 ?
Hello, and thanks for all you do.
Is there an interest to update to 6.2.2 when you use CM7, waiting for CM9 ?
And please another question, How can I go to internet with CM7 in the normal format page, not the ones for mobile?
Thanks for your help
if you'r on cm7 then there's no interest - completely other rom

Nexus 7 2012 OTA Update on Rooted Device Error Status 7

Hey guys,
Actually my Rooted device with unlocked Boot Loader is running on Kitkat with build number KTU84P. I am trying to finally Updating the System after it tell me all the Time "Your system have an update on the 5.0.2" and to hopefully get the bugs away from this System Version.... My system run not smooth enough for me actually....
Well if I try to Update OTA i get everytime the Error Status 7, i guess that caused of that my Boot Loader is unlocked, but i won't to lock it just to be able to Update it on an newer version.
I was already looking for another CM Version for my Device who is maybe working better than my actual System, but didn't found anything really who was made me happy... So I am still looking, the most of Version here are just Beta, i want a system with no or very less bugs, well the best will be a final CM version..... Or is it another Way to do the OTA Update on a Rooted Device and maybe after that just reinstall SU and get SU right back?
Thank you in Advance for your help.
Edit: For clearance, it is a WiFi Only Device
No, it's not because of your unlocked bootloader but due to the boot and/or system partition modified e.g. by installing SuperSU / busybox / etc.
The only way to get the OTA is flashing original images, applying the OTA and then flash SuperSU again ... but that doesn't make much sense. It's much more easy to directly fastboot flash the factory image.
Thank you for your answer, how's "fastboot flash" working? Will i flash the New Android img or just rechange the Boot/sys partition to be able to install another OTA android version?
I guess actually the easiest way will maybe be to just install CM/omsi and use a custom made Android Build... If you tell me its easier, but idk which kind i can use without any issues.....

Can I request some more details please?
OS version?
TWRP version?
Did you unlock your bootloader and enabled OEM unlocking in Developer Settings?
Which rooting method did you use (e.g. did you flash ElementalX kernel https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/guide-how-root-nougat-moto-g4-plus-t3484672 or the superboot method https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...t-how-to-root-n-firmware-npj25-93-11-t3532556) ?
What error do you get?
EDIT - I understand you're desperate for help resolving this, please don't post the same thing in 3 places if you can.

Couple of things:
Try installing the newer TWRP from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...covery-twrp-3-0-2-r3-moto-g4-g4-plus-t3494337
I don't think TWRP 3.0.2 is supported that well.
SuperSU - use the SuperSU 2.78 or the beta https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
I think if you desire root, you'll need a modified kernel (so far, it appears that the stock kernel security prevents rooting, someone correct me if I'm wrong), which may explain the bootloops. Try with the ElementalX kernel method as linked above, seems that people have had luck with it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/guide-how-root-nougat-moto-g4-plus-t3484672 You may need phh's Superuser instead.

If android o does arrive, I imagine you'll have to revert back to the stock ROM to update, so removing root and flashing your stock boot image over your existing installation. Alternatively you could fast boot a stock ROM to restore a stock install.
What's the rush anyway, no announcements have even been made for android o...?

Again, Android O hasn't been formally announced yet...
I see you've already gotten an answer from tywinlannister regarding this question https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71265934&postcount=249
I don't see much to add to his well thought out reply except if you're staying with stock (assuming you're using temporary TWRP):
1) Unroot completely using the SuperSU settings panel or follow the unrooting instructions for your superuser app.
2) Reboot into temporary TWRP, restore your boot.img (if you flashed ElementalX kernel) from within TWRP (if I recall, it's Restore >Select image and then assign it as a boot image). If you did not make a backup of your boot.img, there are images around (e.g. https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/1643-indian-version-stock-boot-modem-t3460615 - i don't know if this is for nougat or marshmallow - download and extract the rar file, copy the extracted boot.img to your device and boot into temporary TWRP, then flash the boot.img).
3) Reboot and you should be fully stock - with stock kernel/boot.img, recovery and no root.
1a) As tywinlannister linked, you could just reflash the latest fastboot image which would remove root and give you a stock boot, which would be the best for reliability (which as of this post is this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1640-43-athene-npj25-93-t3549369)
Thus, when/if Android O does arrive, you should be able to update via OTA. It's gonna be at least 6-12 months away for the update, if previous Android updates have been anything to go by.

[SOLVED]After restore stock why status are always modified and not Official

Hello I succeed in rooting my phone a few days ago but some moto fonctions doesn't work well (fingerprint, rotate, moto display stop each time)and I couldn't desinstall apps ans install theme icones while I was superuser. So I decide to restore stock and reinstall TWRP and supersu. But TWRP doesn't load after to start phone and I tried install many img with any problems (see OK all time) but Twrp menu never appears (maybe a pb due to Elementx install for rooting before? I don't now for the moment).I'm looking for......
What surprises me is the fact that I always have "status modified" on bootloader while it would be "official".And It is in yellow as when Twrp was installed.Restore stock doesn't erase all datas for custom recovery?Stock works normally.Did Twrp removed completely???Did you have an explanation for tis issue?
My stock firmware is which I downloaded from motorola website.I attempt factory reset, wipe cache etc .....nothing
I would try another method to restore (with 2 others firmware).

Maybe you flashed the wrong firmware. Flash this one with the guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...ck-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138/page99
Also this is the wrong forums to ask.
I am unable to report this. Please any moderator shift this thread

You can flash latest official firmware that is posted in second post to solve firmware related issues..
After flashing, you will not get official status back, it will remain modified..
To get official status back, you need to have OTA update, which is possible only when Motorola releases OREO or SECURITY PATCH, but currently no any method will work... (Also not sure about security update )
NEVER DOWNGRADE AND TAKE OTA UPDATE, IT WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
I forgot to precise I was under Android 6.0 (MM) but it 's frustrated I don't have a signature now.Ok I had to try to update to Androit 7.0 (Nougat) but it failed.I restore a stock and update it with OTA but it doesn't install it.
So I reinstall one more time but I flash partition and bootloader with one tuto of XDA even if it isn't advised.
I think install of Elementx has caused troubles because Update and Twrp install worked perfectly before.
I don't know what 's the problem

Please help me with an OTA update

Hi everyone. I'm new here on XDA and this is my first post so if I'm doing this wrong, please let me know below or provide a link if my problem has already been solved, thank you.
I have an s8+(SM-G955F, dream2ltexx/dream2lte), running 9.0.0. I have both, TWRP(3.3.1) and Magisk(latest) + edxposed(for what is worth). I am also running a custom kernel A2N. I received a week ago an OTA update and I would like to apply it. This is my first ever OTA update on a rooted device so I read a ton of posts and tutorials in the past few days, also backed up everything using TWRP. From what I understood(and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or show a better solution) I need to first install the default recovery image, lose TWRP, unroot, do the OTA and after that, reinstall TWRP and Magisk(I think I also need to return to stock kernel, not sure).
Important: I would very much like to not factory reset my phone if this is possible.
Now, I have a few questions:
1. Where can I get my default recovery.img ? (I tried to find it on https://desktop.firmware.mobi/device:468 but they don't have anything for android 9)
2. Do I also need to get and install my default kernel ? If so, where can I also get it ?
2. After I flash the recovery.img what is the best thing to do with Magisk ? (completly uninstall or just restore image ?)
3. After everything is done, will flashing TWRP require to remount the partitions ?(because that will also mean I have to factory reset at some point)
4. It would also be super helpful if you could provide me a link from where I can download OTA updates as zip files(if there exist such a place). The version that I need is: G955FXXS8DTC1
I cannot thank you enough for everything and sorry for the long post
Hope you have a safe, beautiful day !
P.S. I already tried to do the OTA update after backup. It tried to flash it throw TWRP and, of course, it failed(error: 7)
