As far as I know, the S View Cover is only working in Samsungs Stock Roms (and Custom Roms basing on a Stock Rom).
No, however, S-View support can be easily added to CyanogenMod, it's made of two simple classes in android's source code. I don't have any storage space on my PC to download CM's source code and add support for it though.

After desperately waiting for Samsung to deliver our latin variant (9082L) Galaxy Grand the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update, and seeing that pawitp sorted out CyanogenMod's AOSP firmware, I decided to build a project in which I could maximize all of the Galaxy Grand -L's potential. I found that the Pure Android experience lacked some features that I use often (DLNA, Robust Picture and Video Gallery, etc) so I added what I consider to be the best available: Sony Xperia Media Apps.
Taking all this, plus my previous knowledge of our device's settings, I give you, The Grand Google Play Experience Edition, inspired by the S4 Google Play Edition (Pure Nexus Experience), and Sony Xperia Media Apps. Please read through all threads and their direction, for some require modding system files. Device must be ROOTED. I am NOT responsible for you bricking your device. This should also work on the I9082. I take no credit in the development of these mods, my credit goes to hours and days of testing out different ROMS, Media Packs, Scripts and Apps from many different sources and people, and making them all work smoothly and stable in our device, to seem as if it was meant to be this way.
If you find this post useful, please click THANKS! .

CM10.1 ROM FOR GALAXY GRAND
CyanogenMod is designed to increase performance and reliability over Android-based ROMs released by vendors, it offers a variety of features & enhancements that give a pure Android experience, that similar to the Nexus/Google Play Edition line of devices. NO DUAL SIM SUPPORT: Only Primary SIM Card Slot Works. The Dual SIM feature is proprietary of Samsung.
- Install the ROM & GAPPS using ClockworkMod Recovery
- Wipe data/Dalvik if coming from Stock ROM
• ROM: CM10.1 [4.2.2] for Galaxy Grand GT-i9082/9082L (Thread)
• Google Apps for Android 4.2.2
• Modem for GT-i9082Lhttp://www.mediafire.com/download/ijtxn8ecmyq5to8/Dcamc1.tar.md5 *(My 9082L experienced signal problems, so I RECOMMEND flashing this modem)
GOOGLE PLAY EDITION BOOT ANIMATION
Original S4 Google Play Edition Boot Animation optimized for our screen.
1. Boot in CWM
2. Flash zip
3. Reboot
• Download Bootanimation
GOOGLE PLAY EDITION SUNBEAM LIVE WALLPAPER
Original S4 Google Play Edition Live Wallpaper.
• Download SunBeam Live Wallpaper
GOOGLE PLAY EDITION 4.3 CAMERA
Original S4 Google Play Edition 4.3 Camera. Working Photosphere, Volume Rocker Capture. Smooth, No Lag. Gallery loads a lot quicker. Tested several. This is the best one for our device.
1. Delete Gallery app. (Use Titanium, Uninstall Master, etc)
2. Install apk
• Download Google Edition Camera (Thread)
GOOGLE PLAY EDITION SYSTEM AUDIO
Original S4 Google Play Edition System Audio. Far less junk sound than CM. Use File Manager to select the UI Sounds (Charger Connecting, etc)
1. Decompress Zip
2. Push folder to system/media/audio (requires a root level file manager) {Tip: Some File Manager will require you to change original audio folder name, ex: audio-bkp, then delete.
• Download Google Edition System Audio
ANDROID 4.3 SYSTEM FONTS
New updated Roboto font. Cleaner display, but not noticeable on small fonts due to our screen's resolution.
1. Boot in CWM
2. Flash zip
3. Reboot
• Download Android 4.3 System Fonts
SONY XPERIA Z MEDIA PACK
The one thing lacking in pure Android is a robust media package, and this perhaps is the only thing I miss from the Samsung package. Sony has a much more robust and integrated media pack which brings back all the goodies one may miss; Organized and pinch-zoom albums, access to pictures and music from other sources, better audio quality and adaptations. Out of the several ports available, this particular Xperia media pack runs perfectly on the Grand, with the only exception of downloading song information (artwork and track info). And Yes, DLNA if working on this port.
1. Boot in CWM
2. Flash zip
3. Reboot
* DSP Manager must be frozen, stopped or deleted. Sony sound enhancement will now perform that sound processing.
• Download Sony Xperia Media Pack (Developer)
PERFORMANCE TWEAKS
There are numerous apps and scripts out there. After trying just about all of them, the following mix and matching of tweaks has yielded the best performance for my device. I am getting a consistent 11400 - 11600 on Antutu's Benchmarking tests and best of all, a steady line of stability and temperature readings. You are welcome to further tweak, but it's been thoroughly test for hours, days and nights. I have gotten really close to breaking 12000, so I'll keep you all posted.
SUPREMACY TRILOGY SCRIPT
Many tweaks in one simple flash.
Features: Better ram allocation, More free ram (clearing cache), Faster GUI, UI processed by GPU, Loopy smoothness tweak, Apps zipaligned at every boot, Faster Networking, SQlite database optimizations, Lag fixer, Smoother LWP animation, Adrenaline boost and more...
1. Boot in CWM
2. Wipe Dalvik Cache
3. Flash zip
4. Reboot
• Download Supermacy Script V3 (Thread)
PIMP MY ROM (BETA)
ONLY USE THE ENTROPY GENERATOR. You are welcome to use other tools and tweaks, but use at your own risk. Noticed further tweaking only decreases performance. The Supremacy Script does a better job and already handles most of the tweaks offered here, with great settings. No other Entropy Generator works as well as this one though. Before tweaking, make Rescue Package is recommended.
1. Select Tools-> Entropy Generator: ON | Feed Interval: 1 sec. | Fill Watermark: 90% | Randon Read & Write Wakeup Threshold: Detect Average |
2. Press Save (Diskette Icon)
• Download Pimp My Rom (Thread)
SD CARD SPEED BOOST
I read on people suggesting all sorts of cache sizes for their SD cards, and though it is true that it works, this is the way I believe you should choose your cache size. I've gotten 100% speed increase and write, and 50% increase in read.
Recommended optimization method:
1. Download ROM TOOLBOX LITE or PRO
2. In the performance section, select SD BOOSTER
3. Under Benchmark, Run a test a 500MB size and all cache sizes selected.
4. Choose the size with the highest read/write values.
5. Apply cache value. And select to apply on boot. (You can use this or any other SD Card cache app, I use this app for it's benchmarking only)
• Download ROM Toolbox Lite
{PERFORMANCE TESTING NOTES} 10/28/13
BATTERY STATISTICS - People in the CM10 thread are commenting about massive power drains. This is what you can expect from this CM10.1 and my mods. Like I said in the CM10 thread: "It doesn't get more horizontal than this" *Results may vary, depending on software, my device is about 60% full.

This is a MOD not a ROM. If the base ROM on which this is flashed on supports dual SIM then it will. At the moment CM10.1 does not support dual SIM.

@iceyhotguy Absolutely right, No Dual SIM Support. I'm sorting out all the files, for many have broken features, and some have them working right, etc. You know how it is....just making my Galaxy as 'Grand' as it can be. But...several flashable system mods are giving me better performance results than Pimp My Rom....so it looks like I'm scratching the PMR tweaks, for zip scripts.
Cheers,
Paul

This MOD is to have the Galaxy Grand be like the Google PlayEdition devices. The only similarity I can see between these mods and the link provided is that the Xperia Media Apps and only these are an optional install. In my case, I use a lot of DLNA media streaming, CM10 nor Samsung alone can provide this, but the available Xperia apps are out there and perform this. I am not here to add fonts, launchers, and such to make the device into an Xperia, but more to a Google Play Edition: Bare Bones, fast, stable.

@iceyhotguy: Fixed it, and kinda glad that the other link I had was wrong, with the original link, I started getting force quits, it was a ported 4.3 cam, this one that I included now, which was available also loads a lot quicker and after using all the features, no FC or lags.
Thanks for the patience....mainly I'm testing some system tweaks, some new that I've never seen, I've gotten score of 11949 on antutu and trying as a personal goal to break 12000, lol. I'm sure that if I had a Class 10 card i'd gotten over it.
Benchmark
Update: This testing out some performance tweaks. No Overclocking.

Check some of the tweaks I posted if you haven't already altered VM Settings outside of the script : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2476926
I have 11680-11740 score on my CM10.1 with these and some other tweaks : zero lag, 430-517 MB RAM free on an average with 180+ apps installed, no scripts uptil now.
About to give the camera a try, been relying on lenevo super cam uptil now
Gonna try the camera and script now, will post the results
UPDATE : Script installed without problems, minor benchmark boosts, little smoother. Like all scripts true effects can be seen in everyday use, not right away. The VM settings I altered are not in the script, so they can be applied with it, you'll notice the effect as soon as you apply them
Camera not installing for me, think I messed up the original gallery apk afew days ago too much but that's my fault
Waiting patiently for the mod..

I ran Slimkat last month and Supernexus this month. Slim has a few more inherent features that GravityBox alone cannot help Supernexus with. I have liked both ROMs so far. I am thinking of switching back to Slimkat- the memory management seems to be different on Supernexus and occasionally my media player closes when in the background- not a big deal though. I am going to try both with Neat kernel 1.09.

I'm totally new to android Dev.
I'm trying to create an app that can access Google Drive. I have done all the developer setup on the Google console.
I used SDK manager to install google play services etc.
See this link for everything I did:
https://developers.google.com/drive/android/get-started
For some reason I'm getting the following error:
cannot find symbol variable mGoogleApiClient
mGoogleApiClient = new GoogleApiClient.Builder(this)
.addApi(Drive.API)
.addScope(Drive.SCOPE_FILE)
.addConnectionCallbacks(this)
.addOnConnectionFailedListener(this)
.build();
I'm missing a library or something. Can anyone suggest why this would be?
You forgot to give a data type for mGoogleApiClient, i guess that is the problem:
GoogleApiClient mGoogleApiClient = new GoogleApiClient.Builder(this)
.addApi(Drive.API)
.addScope(Drive.SCOPE_FILE)
.addConnectionCallbacks(this)
.addOnConnectionFailedListener(this)
.build();

Mh ok did you import the needed packages inside your activity? Like
import java.lang.* (just an example, i dont know the exact package for the GoogleApiClient)
In eclipse you can automatically insert needed imports by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+O
I have never used android studio so i have no idea if you can do automatic imports or how it works there..
Because to use some predefined class, you obviously first have to download/install/whatever that package. But then you have to tell java that you want to use it in that one specific activity by inserting that import (or imports, not sure)... Thing directly under the class header
