Just use the flash tool and then use the all in one kit that will flash twrp. Then boot into recovery and press reboot. It should prompt you to root.

Hello Guys,
I have rooted my phone and installed the RA-hero-v1.6.2a and need to send the phone back to T-mobile.
As for root, am I right in thinking I can just load the RUU_Hero_T-Mobile_UK_2.73.110.26_release_signed_NoDriver.exe and this will remove root?
How to I remove the recovery?
Thanks,
Daniel

If you flash that RUU, it should restore everything, including recovery.
That will remove root.
When you get it back, it may have 2.1 on it, but that's easily rootable now using sticky in dev forum

Brilliant, thanks buddy.
Hi guys this is the first time i have rooted and flashed a device. I managed rooting my N7 and flashing PA Rom and Motley kernel. Now I want to flash back to stock rom and update to 4.1.2 via OTA or directly flash the official 4.1.2 pure stock. However I still want to maintain root and CWM. Is this possible? Can someone please help me out with details as kind of a noob. I even want to understand how Titanium Backup works. If i backup my apps and then do a factory reset while flashing a new rom how does the backup remain if everything is lost in factory reset. Thanks a lot for helping.

Do it manually like I did, its just as quick as the OTA, you keep all your files and I didn't loose root, was done in 5 mins.
Heres the thread to the manual tutorial:

Hope this helps mate

Good question, That I couldn't tell you mate because I don't use custom ROM's. I shouldn't see why not, give it a go and let us know the results?

The update can only be applied to a completely stock rom, if you have made any changes to the rom(build.prop edits, etc) the zip will fail to flash

You need a stock RUU, but I'm not sure where to find those. Once you have the stock RUU, adb push the update and your all strawberries and cream
The update will fail if build.prop is modifed and most custom roms modify that. So it would be safer to flash stock image and sideload the update.
Or else wait for the custom ROM developer to incorporate those changes.
Hello,
We can't run our email system on a rooted phone.
therefore, i need to do some changes to the phone like changing fonts and removing some Samsung software.
i want to root the note 4, do the changes and then unroot it without re-installing a stock rom.
is that possible?
i'm ready to donate $25 to whoever answers this question.
No it's not possible, we will have to Odin the stock firmware in order to be back unroot ....as far as I know.
You can make a flashable zip with your mods without root the phone, you need only a custom recovery, once you mods flashed you can revert back to stock recovery

That cannot be posible i,m afraid...a custom recovery cannot be installed on a non root device... however there is a chance.... to make a flasheable zip tu unroot the device and to reinstall the stock recovery once the mods has been installed in a rooted device

Of course you can. Just flash a custom recovery via ODiN.

thank you
Thank you Slink for your elegance.
I know how to flash a custom recovery via odin and how to flash a zip file.
how can i create the zip file? at first, i'll only need to replace one font file with another one having the exact name.
swap keys
and secondly, i'll need to swap the back and recent keys because i have a very small thumb that can't reach the back key on my M8 and Z3.
this only can be done by rooting so far but our company Good messaging software won't then work on rooted android.

Just root. Do your things and then fully unroot by using supersu-settings-fully unroot feature.
once you trip knox your email wont run so you cannot unroot
Hi guys

There's an option to unroot via SuperSU app. If you didn't root via SuperSU, there's some app called "Universal Unroot" I guess
Thanks for your reply. Unrooting isn't really the problem, it's the getting back to stock part that I'm struggling to figure out.

Hi guys,
I did root my device recently, is there any way to re-lock it again as I need to bring it back to the company?
Flash the latest firmware using Odin or initialize using smart switch. This will wipe the the data on the phone.
Stop making a post on this, multiple threads here that talk about fixing this.
Thank you qwewqa. Onw question more more please, how can I have a backup copy of my stock rom that I currently have? Something different than titanium backup please.
Thanks again

Do you mean the rooted rom or the rom you have after the reset. You could backup using flashfire if rooted. Smart switch works for non rooted devices and rooted devices but will not backup app data.
Bump to top. When I flashed latest firmware it still shows the pad lock and custom
Any ideas? If possible to go completely stock?

Did you try reading post #2?
Re-flash the original firmware. It won't be rooted if successful. Therefore it would be completely stock again.
