Several ads are claiming 0 shutter lag on the note 3, yet say it's the same camera as in the s4.
My s4 lags (like my s2 did). S3 strangley had no lag.
Can anyone confirm?
I've read a couple reports saying the s800 might be using a Samsung sensor and the exynos is probably using the same Sony sensor in gs4. Hasn't been proven but evidence has been given, just not confirmed yet.
Any lucky people got one now and can confirm?

There's no lag at all I just burst shotted and took over 15 photos in the space of 2 seconds.

So, if you take a single shot it's instantaneous, unlike the s4?
Good news if so, I guess they do use a different Sensor in the N3.

Nah I just took repeated shots one after the other no lag at all quite consistent. This phone is a beast.

Have you played with an s4? Just wondering how it compares. I'm tempted by the note for a few reasons, the 32gb internal storage, the 3 gig ram, the s800, oh and the camera without lag

Just had a play with one in phones 4 u. Definitely not the same camera as the s4. 0 shutter lag indeed now to find one at a good price, may wait a month or so but prob end up buying one next week lol

This S4 camera lag thing has been driving me insane for the longest time.
I've got both the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3 ( octa versions ) and can confirm that there is no lag on the Note 3 like with the S4 camera,( takes 2 to 5 to 8 seconds to load sometimes ) and yes strangely the S3 doesn't have any lag either.
the Note 3 is BLAZING, even with all of the Sammy bloatware on it. :good:
Wish my S4 camera could run like this.(am using Perseus kernel , seems to have made the cam snappier on the S4 , will update after more testing )

From what I read when the s4 (i9505) was launched, the lag is due to a hardware design, something to do with the sensor/shutter speed. I don't think software could fix this or surely samsung would have by now.

Don't know about the I9505 but with the I9500 it seems to be a memory management issue( wrt how long the camera app takes to load after you hit the icon). If I clear the ram before launching the camera it opens up almost instantly. ( but we digress )

Ahh I think we are talking about 2 different issues. The lag I refer to is when you hit the take picture button. It's out of sync with the 'click' sound. The image on your screen changes by the time the picture has been taken. I seem to still get the actual picture I took in the end but it really bugs. The S3 and note 3 don't do it, S1,S2&S4 all do. I don't know if the note 1&2 do it too.

yep i kind of figured but you're right I've had this issue as well. I can confirm that the note 2 doesn't do it.

You have to go to Sports Scene Mode for Zero Shutter Lag‼
Odd, did Samsung forget to add the lens flare unlock effect on the international octa core SM-N900. I don't get it when MKBHD reviewed the note 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NSBB-kFDGQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player he has that effect and he reviewed it using the octa core variant. The one which i have. I don't get it, is it only available to the U.S ??
PS: I'm from India, so if anyone from India has that effect on the SM-N900. I guess I'll be missing out on the J.J abraham experience.

No available in my european SM-N9005 too.
One thing to add : ink on ripple effect only works using the stylus.
Enable live wallpaper on both lock screen and home screen. The Lights effect will be automatically enabled on your lock screen with live wallpaper on.
For enabling light effect on Note 3 running Kitkat 4.4.2, Please check out here
and here for ripple ink effect with fingers or without S-Pen....

Hey I was trying the camera on the note 3 and it won't let me click dual shot button ? It worked before because when I got the phone I tried it also I did the new software update last night maybe that did somthing
Same here. And camera is slowest than my note 2 and even my old s2. One once processing, once not. Both ways is super slow.

I fixed it go into manage app for camera and clear data then it works
I had the same..had to click front camera and set auto..then back camera to auto. It then let me use dual shot!!!

it happens because your video recorder is set in 4k format you need to set a lower resolution and then the camera will allow you to use dual shot function
Hi,
I am just wondering if there is anyway we can get this feature on Note3. I have used LG G2 before Note3 and that feature is so useful and handly.
I feel its possible to have the tocuh to wake feature on Note3 as it got the hardware.
Can you suggest a solution?

on my old Note 2 i was able to take note on the back of the photos taken by the camera. Now on the note 4 i can't find this feature.
