[Q] Wifi not turning on after trying to update to omega kitkat - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im using samsung galaxy s4 i9505 on 4.2.2 rooted
I tried to follow instructions on this site (google search "Galaxy S4 I9505 Gets Android 4.4.2 XXUFNA5 KitKat via Omega ROM" and choose the first link from ibtimes since i cannot post a direct link as a new member) to update to omega kitkat rom. in the site the first few steps instruct to download boot loader and modem and then flash it to my mobile after flashing and rebooting I got the message "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" in red and a sub message "set warranty bit: kernel" in yellow during the boot. Once my phone was rebooted I was unable to turn on the wifi. When i try to press the wifi in the notification panel it simply doesn't turn green and stays grey. Long press on the wifi and then manually turning it on also does not help it simply says wifi turning on but does nothing.
1) Did this happen because I flashed those bootloader and modem files? how can I fix this problem? please help (I have tried restoring many many times from my nandroid backup and even tried factory reset with wipe from recovery)
2) Other problems I'm having is in download mode my kernel shows 0x1 so did this also happen because of flashing those files? any fix?
3) Under settings my baseband version is also showing unknown after all this occurred.. why could this be?
P.S. I had performed a nandroid backup initially when i had a clockWorkmod recovery version 6.0.3 of course when i performed the backup my system was perfectly fine without the kernel message during boot. then i installed the philz touch 6.0.4.6 custom recovery as per the instructions on the website above and used that to install the kitkat omega rom after the reboot it got stuck on a boot loop so I had to do a restore from recovery. All my settings/data/apps were restored but the kernel message was still there during the boot and my wifi stopped working.

i had the same problem as you thou i already had a kitkat rom on mine and after i done a update to a new version of the same rom my wifi wouldnt work. I spent 3 weeks trying different fixes to no avail and had to by a new board which cost me $200.
i really loved the kitkat Roms and are at the point now of wanting to know what steps i should take now to install and not end up where you are again.

[Q] Kernel is not seandroid enforcing set warranty bit: Kernel - Boot loop ?

Hi guys,
Yesterday I updated to the new N9005XXUENA6 Leaked KitKat 4.4.2. Didn't really think much of it and finally decided to root the phone.
I rooted the phone with CF-Auto-Root thanks to chainfire. Anyway after that I installed CWM recovery as TWRP haven't really updated it since the new update for note 3.
Now i can get to the CWM recovery and after installing any rom
I tried
1. [JAN-13][hlte][1.2.4] AOSB Project (ProBAM ROM) - The End of The Line ! and then
2. [CM11][4.4.2][N9005][ROM][KERNEL][JAN13] temasek's UNOFFICIAL Build - V33
However, in both cases I get an error:
Kernel is not seandroid enforcing
set warranty bit: kernel
and keeps on boot looping.
I can get into download and recovery but cannot install any custom ROM's.
After a bit of looking around and what i gathered from similar questions,I tried installing a couple of kernels but still its a no go!.
Is it as a result of the new N9005XXUENA6 update? or me doing something idiotic?
P.S: Tried wiping data / factory reset, format partition / system, etc. Cannot find fix permissions in the new CWM however and cannot use TWRP as it just doesn't boot up into the recovery.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply,
So once again, I did a factory reset then flashed the rom and then flashed the file you recommended.
Still a no go
Same problem.

Based on what I read so far regarding the 4.4.2 update, if you flashed it on your device, there seems to be no way to go back to 4.3 ( I'm not sure if that means custom roms based on 4.3 as well ). Best thing to do is just flash the official 4.4.2 and hang in there until custom roms based on 4.4.2 comes out or people find a way to go back to 4.3. The reason the file from firasusman didn't work is probably because there might be difference in how kit kat deals with efs compared to jellybeans which it was written for in the first place.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
You probably are right as it doesn't really work. Anyway I'll keep waiting
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
same here
Yip you won't be able to go to a lower bootloader than you are on with KK, CM based ROMs are currently running (MJ7) _ will have to wait until the new bootloader is implemented into new(er) builds.
Thanks for that info. Will keep an eye out. Cheers

Hi all,
I Have the same error " Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing " but it's when I try to root my SM-N9005 with the procedure of the SM-9005 (My phone can't be rooted)
(true-android.blogspot.fr/2014/01/root-galaxy-note-3-sm-n9005-lte-running.html)
When I try to restart in recovery mode step 11 in the link :
(11 -Once flashing completed, your Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 will reboot. After the phone resets (it vibrates) IMMEDIATELY hold volume up and home buttons to boot into recovery mode. You can operate TWRP recovery using touch.)
This message appears : "Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing ", and the phone restart, if I stop pushing button, i startup without rooted, If i Continue to push volume up and home buttons, it always boot with Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing
Have you an idea ?
Thanks

Before you did this was your 4.4.2 on KitKat working well? Or did you come from 4.3? If you came from a correctly installed 4.4.2 then do go to this thread and start from STEP 8
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2614787
download the files required from STEP 8 onwards.
This is CWM recovery and not TWRP. I dont have experience with TWRP.

I'm assuming you're on 4.3, you have to use this in pda/ap on odin. After flashing phone will restart with android and texts in color. After that it will reboot again to system and you will have root. SEandroid Enforcing is normal if you're rooting you're device. Have you checked with root checker if you have root? Also, once you root your device you will have to flash a custom recovery like cwm or twrp to be able to boot to those recovery.

Thanks in advance to all answers

First you will have to update to stock 4.4.2 then you can flash any 4.4.2 roms.

The rom you flashed is based on android 4.3, if the phone you bought already have 4.4 then that is probably the cause of the loop. Flash another rom based on 4.4 or download stock firmware from sammobile and flash using odin.

[Q] Can't install custom recovery - Note 3

I upgraded my Note 3 (N9005 LTE) to ofiicial kitkat 4.4.2 with Odin. I'm also rooted and everything working flawlessly, except I can't install neither TWRP, or CMW recovery, i tried both but geting bootloop with following messages:
Kernel is not seandroid enforcing
set warranty bit: kernel
And it just getting bootloop over and over. I can force download mode, and restart phone, and everything works great, except recovery.
I flashed recovery trough Odin, it's note first time I'm doing it, I followed instructions carefully, so doubt it was my error.
NOTE: After flashing CMW, after couple of bootlops,ODIN actually said PASS, still can't acess recovery, though...
Hope someone have a solution for this?
Thanks in forward
Make sure you are using the most recent recovery version:
[CWM] Kitkat compatible version by Chenglu
[TWRP] Kitkat compatible test version by the twrp maintainer
[TWRP] My (unofficial) kitkat compatible version
I am not getting bootloop but..
I do not have bootloop, but when I try to enter recovery mode the phone it says: Secure Fail Recovery. Then below the yellow triangle it says, System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has not been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest store for help. I was installing CWM for the Note 3. Anyone know how to fix this and install a custom recovery? I cannot enter recovery at all.

[Q] stuck in Clockworkmod recovery boot sequence in Sprint Note 3

I rooted my Sprint Note3 Android 4.4.2 using AutoCF method with Odin and then installed ROM Manager from Google Play and then used it to install CWM recovery, which it was able to flash. Then I used ROM Manager to manually boot into CWM recovery. Now it is stuck perennially in a boot sequence and is giving this message:
Recovery booting
recovery is not seandroid enforced
set warranty bit : recovery
HELP. I just got this phone two days ago and had already set it up with all my apps and accounts. Can I at least get it back to the stock image? Please help me.
SOLVED using another thread
I found a solution in another thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666432
so that was the trick. REMOVE THE BATTERY --> PRESS THE DOWNLOAD KEYS AND HOLD THEM --> THEN ENTER THE BATTERY BACK
also, I followed this thread for installing Clockworkmod custom recovery on Sprint note 3 with android 4.4.2 using odin and it worked like a charm http://true-android.blogspot.com/2014/01/install-cwm-6045-advance-edition-on_2385.html

[Q] Cannot Install an Operable Version of a Recovery Tool on SM-9005

Hi, Having installed a few Custom ROMs in the past without TOO much hassle, I'm scratching my head over the problems I'm having with a recently acquired SM-9005 (running Unbranded Stock ROM - N9005XXUGNG1).
I've rooted it fine using the CF-Root download for 4.4 bootloaders (4.3 version definitely no good - get the "Recovery is not SEANDROID enforcing" issue) but the best I can get off the recovery boot, is the Stock Recovery menu (which you cannot install custom rom's with).
Every time I try and install the relevant CWM or TWRP from ODIN and try and boot into recovery, I get the error about not being able to boot into that mode and it loads the "Download mode".
The phone still works fine but trying to get it to boot into a CWM or TWRP menu is not happening.
I was thinking of re-flashing the stock KitKat ROM but trying to download one of those from the various options is painful (either the link is broken, or the download refuses to start or the resulting download is corrupt)

Thanks Lambik,
Downloading BTU-N9005XXUENB7 now (but extremely slow) - so is the theory that the stock N9005XXUGNG1 ROM has a protected bootloader ?
Will another stock KitKat ROM resolve this ?
So, if I had bought this phone with JellyBean still on, I wouldn't have had all these problems?
All Fixed,
Found the answer on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485607 .
Basically I just needed to Flash the KitKat BL+CWM

Can't Root & Install CWM Recovery on Samsung Note 4

Hi Guys
I believe you guys on here will be able to help. Let me first tell you about my device and what I want to do and then what I did and what problems I encountered.
Device: Samsung Note 4 International Model SM-N910H (Exynos CPU)
OS: 6.0.1
Build Number: MMB29K.N910HXXU2DPE2
I only want to root my device and install Custom Recovery like CWM. I don't want to install a Custom ROM!
So I downloaded CF-Auto-Root-tre3g-tre3gxx-smn910h.tar.md5 and used Odin 3.12 to flash tar file to phone. After that phone rebooted and got stuck into the "Samsung Galaxy Note 4" Screen displaying in red letters on top left Corner "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing"
So I downloaded CWM Recovery v6.0.3.6.tar and flashed with Odin again, this time the phone rebooted back into my Working Phone OS and all seems fine. SO I wanted to test if CWM is installed? Powered phone down and booted into recovery & then got the same "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing" message on screen, so rebooted phone normally and it goes back into the OS. Also SuperU is not installed and phone is not rooted
So how do I solve this issue getting a Custom Recovery on my Phone Since I don't have any Recovery Mode option when booting into recovery. Your help, effort and time will be appreciated
Try again your steps and using odin both times make sure reboot is not ticked. After the flash pull the battery. There is a remark about that somewhere.
I had the same problem with my n9100 and at the end flashed custom rom to solve this. But my phone is slightly different to yours.
Thanks a mil, however I did manage to fix the issue and still wanted to resolve this post. I downloaded SuperU Beta 2.74 and different version of CWM. Installed CWM 6.0.5.1 (1113).tar with Odin 3.10.7 and it worked installing CWM Recovery. Then installed the SuperU 2.74 with CWM and everything works great. Phone now rooted and CWM installed :good::victory::victory:

I have the n9100 as well with the hong kong rom. I'm having the same problem while trying to root with cf-autoroot. I really want to root the phone while keeping the stock rom.
Is there any way to do so??
