[Q] SM-N900 camera failed after 4.4.2 update - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have updated my SM-N900 Note 3 Exynos to 4.4.2 on the singapore firmware.
Upon using normal PDA method, flashed failed, I added PIT and repartition... Bingo.. Everything works great.
However camera would not start and I always get a camera failed warning.. I tried wipe data and cache of Camera APP and Camera test App, factory reset, rewriting firmware.. camera fix zip flash... wipe gallery cache files.. tried flashing rom again, flashing thailand rom, russia rom... no result..
when I downgraded to 4.3 again.. all smooth...
Any ideas.. I really like the 4.4.2 , but I need my camera..

Hi Thank you.
Does this include all the Samsung rom original features, plus some more?
Is there any samsung features ( except for KNOX) skipped?
Thanks again..

Wait! You downgraded from 4.4.2 to 4.3? Which means you didn't flash 4.4.2 bootloader then? Pretty sure if you full wipe and flash a stock N900 ROM everything should work fine.
You can get Everything concerning kitkat for Exynos Note 3 in my thread here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617932

Still no luck with Camera on 4.4.2
Hello ,
Tried flashing Dr. Ketan's custom rom V2... still no luck with the Camera... Camera failed message still on..

I replied your PM. Try flashing Full Stock 4.4.3 ROM. There should be no issues there.

Then maybe hardware issue mate. Take your device in for servicing...

Hi Stanley. . I rolled back to 4.3, camera works like a charm.. if it was hardware, camera wouldn't work at all, regardless of the Roman version. . I think it is a compatability bug...

What i did was rooting my device prior to flashing the 4.4 update, creating a nandroid backup on my external SD card. When the problem happened. . I just restored the system of the 4.3.. it worked.
Your best bet is to try flashing the original 4.3 rom back via Odin and using the repatriation option with the 4.3 pit file.
Unfortunately i don't have any of the files anymore as my computer hard drive got damaged and i had to replace it and lost all the info. .
good luck.

Ok thank you
I hoped you still have that note3 and you can look in menu, and tell me version from it, and I will look over net for that firmware.

is there any solution for stable costum rom?i use baseband n9005xxuena2

SM-N9005 no sound device

Hi everybody, I have a problem with my galaxy note 3.
I'm using Omega Droid (newest version).
Yesterday I would use my note 3 and after unlock the system process force closed.
The device is very very slow and no sound plays anymore.
I flashed then the official rom.
Same thing no sound...
Everytime I use sound eg. Music, ringtone or so the system crash with a force close.
I rooted the device and take a logcat.
It seems that the audio hardware is broken.
Can anyone help or should I contact the service center?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Has anyone an answer for me?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Obviously contact a service centre.
If flashing cutom rom and kernel didn't fix it, it's probably hardware.
OK I send it in to the service center.
No repair because root...
(Knox 0 x1)
What can I do?
I have flashed 10 roms and 5 kernels... Problem exists everytime.
No sound, force closes, system hangs on volume control.
Please help me

I had the same problem with a Galaxy Express after flashing a ROM from a different Region (no sound, force closes, very laggy device). Solution : Flash the stock firmware (the one that your phone came with) from your region. Don't try another region or another ROM, try the stock one from your region. Right after every flash you have to go to Recovery and Wipe Data & Wipe Cache, if you don't do this you will still face the same problem.

I have flashed N9005XXUDMJ7 it's a DBT ROM. I'm from Germany.
The smartphone is from eplus (base).
I have searched on sammobile. But no eplus ROM for my device.
With the N9005XXUDMJ7 ROM problem exist too...
I think that the hardware is broken.
My camera force closed too.
When I check my camera firmware it says no camera device found...
I think it's a case for the repair service for e. g. 100 euro or so on...

Would that work? can he install the custom rom in recovery? or that would brick the phone because of the new bootloader?

downgrade always possible but there are problems
example
sound, calls
can be fixed using a custom kernel, mods, etc.
but this did not benefit
why necessary ? 4.4.2 is better
question is downgrade and reset Knox
it is
everything else is nothing

Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo - camera server error

Hi,
I will say this because i think it matters a lot: first camera problems where after installing new roms like CM 12.1 but there was a nice cam fix so it was good. Yesterday i decided to put a new kernel and I bassicaly screwed everything up. My device didnt boot, I got a black screen after boot logo, so I decided to performa a wipe, and accidentaly wiped every f***ng particion, including system. I thoug to my self "Oh thank God i still have my TWRP recovery", but it was even worse. TWRP couldn't flash any roms ( I still had a CM rom on my sd card) the recovery would just blink and reboot again to it, I was done there completely. Read some forums, after that downloaded a rom for my phone from sammobile. Everything works exept rear camera. I checked that by code *#0*#. I installed different stock roms with different PDA's. I'm guessing that that is a issue that persists from a custom rom? Please help brothers. :highfive:
