Hi guys, I'm a kinda of novice on android after coming from blackberry, I rooted my I9500 using chainfire auto root and everything worked flawlessly well. I never use triangle away since its not available for the device. Now some new updates are rolling in from Sammy and really love touchwiz so I didn't bother myself with custom roms. I would love to have those updates cos I heard they make the phone really fast and eliminate lagging. When I checked for updates I still get I have the latest firmware. My device status shows official. I didn't do anything to change Dat. If you guys have any idea how to get OTA Plz ur ideas are welcome plus a step by step method of running stock rom via odin is appreciated. Here is a snapshot of my device. Pls guys don't be offended if someone has already post a similar complaint.

My apologies, thought it was listed...

Hi all,
I'm looking forward to the new kitkat version of Touchwiz, but I'm worried about knox warranty. If I were to flash a 4.4 ROM (and more specifically, a Touchwiz one), will this set off the flag? I currently do not have the Knox warranty as I got the s4 when it first came out but I'm worried if i download later versions of Touchwiz I'll somehow get the Knox security along with it and set it off.
If anyone could please clarify this it would be greatly appreciated

If u upgrade ur android with 4.3 then with the update u ll get knox bootloader with it. If u r on 4.2.2 then u may install ur preferred custom rom (if it does not have knox included).

search xda, there are already many threads asking same thing...
though,I don't think that it will trip Knox, since u will be flashing a Samsung rom .... it trips when u flash older version or custom rom..
but its better to be safe than sorry...!!!

Ok so I got my galaxy when it was on 4.2.2, but I currently have Cynagenmod 11 (meaning I have 4.4.2 atm). I checked download mode and I have no knox bootloader, so does this mean im safe to download any 4.3/4.4 custom ROM as long as it doesnt state that it will create a knox bootloader?
For example, what if I were to download omega (the kitkat version) or a kitkat version of samsung's Touchwiz?

Towelroot wont work for i9500.
All you have to do is wait and have faith in the devs who are working for us in helping us to get root access without tripping knox.
Every i9500 user who wants root but a normal knox counter is waiting.
Thank me if I helped

Hi ,
As far as i know towelroot does not work with exynos cpus , if you have a 4.3 or older bootloader there is no way ( yet) to root your device without tripping knox....
you can root as Joku1981 said or use chainfire method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292615
but it will trip knox..soory , remember to backup first , efs included.
Someone please help me i decided to root my s4 the Canadian version it was on 4.4.2 but when i decided to unroot it using a video on YouTube that unroot file downgraded my phone to 4.2.2 which is a big problem now because the WiFi is not working neither the microphone or speakers. When it boots up it says kernel is not seandroid enforcing and set warranty bit kernel I tried to find the 4.4.2 stock but couldn't find it anywhere the one i found is taking way too long to download around 12 hours. Also i tried updating it with Samsung Kies but that is not working either someone please help.

Thanks bro but can you help me here.
I just reread your op...a root app cannot downgrade a firmware, that's impossible
What was it that you actually flashed? I'm assuming you flashed a full 4.2.2 rom and that's why you are having issues
Flash 4.4.2 back onto your phone and the problem should be solved
If the download takes 12 hours, you're just gonna have to wait
Oh, friendly advice - never use YouTube for stuff like this. Go to the forum I linked and get what you need from there
One more thing, please don't call me bro
