[Q] *problem syncing and restoring from Samsung account using crash rom - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I was using crash rom and I seem to have a problem with syncing and restoring from Samsung account. I got the error that says sync error and server is busy. I flashed x note and I never encountered this problem. Each time I flash crash rom with full wipe, I will always have this problem. Anyone can shed some light to my problem?

Retry the account. It usually fails first time. It did for me when I logged into my Samsung account

You mean deleting my Samsung account and readding it back? I did that previously but i'm unable to get it to sync and restore. All 4 sync options like contacts, Internet, calendar and scrapbook have the red exclamation mark beside it.

Yeah.. that should fix it. Unless your phone is having connection issues. - it's also possible Samsung sync is down - I don't use it anymore so can't verify

I've tried removing and adding my account several times now but it doesn't seem to work. I also tried flashing with and without full wipes but it doesn't change. When I flash X note back, it could sync and restore normally. Weird.

Are u facing it after an update to Gingerbread?
No I have not gingerbread and i will try to erase the account and re-add it... do i have to do a complete reboot or fast reboot?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I would go with normal reboot (ref : http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Fastboot), I don't think fastboot has to do with that - but I'm no expert, I could be wrong. Plus I didn't said this would undoubtedly fix your issue, but it's worth trying.
Deleting the account doesn't work. I can't delete it unless I go to factory settings...and that ain't worth it.

As a test I borrowed an iphone 4 off a colleague...setup his gmail using activesync m.google.com and guess what....He also gets authentication error. Syncs ok and then stops working. Works then stops working randomly.
I strongly believe this an issue with gmail side. But googling around I can't anything on other websites/forums about it.
In CM7 if you try too setup yahoo mail it gets (user name/password incorrect) but gingersence is fine. w i e r d
Unwanted sync
I have the opposite problem, and would appreciate some help.
I have Gingergread (Alien) on my Atrix 4g and when I set up my tree gmail accunts (one carries contacts, calendar and mail), the other two just mail.
When I did the set up , I had the chance to select which service does each account provide (of the three).
Now I just went and checked and the THREE accounts are doing sync for the three services.
Why could this happened, A gingerbread problem, an Alien Rom problem on wth,
I have deleted the accounts, except for the one linked to the phone account (which I cannot delete) and when I set them up again, I have no chance to select what type of sync I want,,, the three services are being synced for the three accounts.
Any idea?

Gmail count issue driving me nuts looking for some help

Hey all I posted this topic a little while back but can't find a fix.
Since updating my nexus s on fido to 2.3.6 (unrooted) my gmail Outbox is a mess. It sends the emails fine - but the number beside the Outbox just keeps getting larger. Never resets back to zero. Even after a successful send. I've tried resetting the app data and even the device a couple times. I'm running the email on synchronize mode and i have multiple Gmail accounts on my device.
Has anyone experienced this issue and is there a way to fix it? I can't seem to delete the Gmail application to try to reinstall it and there doesn't seem to be an update available....
Cheers

Open gmail on a computer and delete the emails that are older and not showing up

Also, 2.3.6 is very buggy. Could be one of the bugs as well.

Must be a bug in 2.3.6......when I open up my Gmail on the computer all's fine...

[Q] Error signing into YouTube app

I've been unable to run the YouTube app on my N10 for the last few days. The UI launches, but I see a message saying "An error occurred" during the sign on process. I've tried clearing data & cache and reinstalling. I'm the primary root user on the tablet, and can access all other Google services. I have two other users setup, and neither of those have the problem. A Google search for this issue hasn't been fruitful. My wi-fi data connection is solid. Anything else I could try? Anywhere I could look at the logs?
I just started having the same problem on my Nexus 7. Worked fine earlier today, but now I keep getting the error occurred message when trying to sign in. All other google services seem to be working fine. Tried uninstalling, removing account, etc., no dice.
I ended up having to do a Factory Data Reset to fix it.
Weird. I happened to have a backup of the old version so I loaded that up and it signed in no problem! Don't know what's going on here, guess I'll stick with this for now.

Have you guy tried just wiping the Cache of the app? It fixed the same problem for me once but on my gs3.
I also have an SGS3 and I don't know what else to do. Every time I tap on "Log In" I only get "An error occurred"...
Clearing app data didn't help for me. Like the other poster, I could log in using the original version of the YouTube app, but not the latest. Only a FDR fixed the problem for me. So unless someone can address the core issue, you're stuck using an old version or doing a FDR.
Sorry, but what is FDR?
Factory Data Reset
Thanks. So, what's the error's origin?
at my app too
I have a SGY and i flashed a custom rom and at my YT app it shows "An error occuped" too. I cleared the data and cache but it still shows the error. I NEED HELP!!! sry for my english
I'm having this same issue, except on my Galaxy S II. I'm running CM10.
Same thing; "An error occurred", won't allow me to sign in. Previous versions of the app work just fine. Extremely frustrating, and nonsensical as it worked just fine a few weeks ago. Please help!!
Same error on my Note2 & Nexus7. Both are running custom ROMs. On the Note I'm able to sign in to an older version of the app (4.2.16) but still get an error. Getting a bit annoying now.
but my real Big problem is with GooglePLAY
Has this been solved? Getting the same thing on i777 Samsung Galaxy S2. Uninstalling youtube updates solves the problem. However I keep getting reminded by Play to update youtube app.
I have always had this problem with the N7. Like previously stated, some older versions work tho. I've started keeping a version which works in my Dropbox. After rom update, etc I install that version straight from DB. I get the Play Store constant nagging to update to ignore, but at least I have a usable version. Which Google would get it's **** together!

Have any of you ever used 2 step verification? Ever. After loads of pissing about, trying different things I eventually got it sorted by removing all the apps I had set up for 2 step about a year ago. I also removed a heap of apps from the Connected Sites, Apps and Services page of my Google account. (click profile pic>Account>security>2 Step Verification settings>Manage application - specific passwords). If you have any apps in the application specific passwords section, remove them.
If you've never used 2 step verification, try revoking access to some apps from the same page.
This worked 100% for me, can't guarantee the same for you. Good luck.

I've been having exactly the same problem. However, I have several Google accounts so I tried to logon using a different one and, lo and behold, it works perfectly with the other account. But go back to the falling account and the error comes back. Switch accounts, it goes away. So it definitely has something to do with the account.
In my case, the one failing is the main account that I use for everything. It would be interesting to see if other people have the same behavior. So far, I'm still having the problem...

Just for the benefit of the next person. I tried almost everything to solve this problem, to no avail. What I didn't do was a factory reset, as I believe (based on my previous comment), that it was an account problem somehow, since I could log on ok with other accounts.
How it inadvertently got solved? Well I noticed that if I tried to sign in, I'd get the message "an error occurred", but my "what to watch" recommendations matched that particular account. So I went to somebody's channel and subscribed and boom, suddenly I'm in ok, no error displayed.
Would anyone with the problem try that and report? I can now sign in and out without a hitch.

One fix that may work for you guys that worked for me is to uninstall updates to the youtube app in settings>>apps.
New update seems to have broken a lot of things with the app

[Q] Problems with Google Contacts sync

Hello everybody!
I'm using official I9505VJUAMDM firmware (the latest update for Brazil ZTO) and I am having some trouble with Google contacts sync. As you can see in the following screenshot, everything syncs fine, but not Google contacts. It keeps trying to sync over and over again, keeping the phone awake and heavily draining battery life. If I disable the option to sync Google contacts, it works fine.
I've already tried to remove Google account and adding it again, and even made hard reset, but the problem still persists. Is there a fix for that?
I'm also facing the same problem

[Q] Google contacts sync error

Hey guys,
I have a problem on my nexus 4 and I've tried every fix that I've found yet but it's still not really working...
My problem is that the sync is giving me an error everytime I sync my google account. The problem is caused by the contacts. I've checked the contacts on my computer (www.google.com/contacts) and new contacts are being synced, but my phone still tells me there's an error...
I've already tried:
1. Contacts Sync fix (from the playstore)
2. Reconnecting the google account to my phone
3. Backing up all contacts, deleting them on all phones/on my google account and reimporting them
Any other ideas? It would be very cool if I could fix this somehow
Nexus 4, Stock 4.4.4 (KTU84P), Franco kernel #211, TWRP, Xposed
Does this happen with a stock ROM too? I've never encountered this problem with any custom ROM I tried, either on my Nexus 4 or Motorola Atrix HD.
I have had this issue in the past. Force syncing and a couple of reboots later it seemed to fix it self.
