Hello,
I've a network drive connected to my router. I can access those files using a laptop or a desktop but can't acces the drive using Android. So is there a way to do that if yes? Then please help me out.
Thank you.

Try ES File Explorer. It should work with FTP and CIFS (Windows File Sharing Shares) servers.
Thank you for the help but It doesn't work tried it earlier.
Please any other ideas?
Thank you.!
P.s- I've a Belkin router.

I have messed with the Belkin routers a bit. They use NAS, and I think in E-File explorer you should select LAN and scan for the server.
Try root File Explorer, but u must root ur device first
Yeah tried it but failed it says no servers found.! So I don't know what do I do. Can you explain me a bit?
Thank you

act accordingly;
in ES file explorer tap on the cell pic on the top left side then select Network and go to LAN. Tap on New and in the opened window in the Server field enter the ip address of the PC connected to network through which you want to connect to network, and also you should enter your username and password of the PC too. click OK and you should be fine using created access point.
Yeah I tried that but the HDD is connected to the router no the pc!

First dumb suggestion: make sure phone is connected to the right wifi/network.
Less dumb question: what model router is it? and are you sure it supports samba and the file system you have the drive formatted to? and make sure it shows up on a PC.
Reason i make these suggestions:
I have a Technicolor TG582n, which has a USB port for doing just this, sadly, however, it only supports FAT32, so if the drive is formatted in anything else such as EXT3 or NTFS, it simply wont work. Another step i have to take is to set up the router to use the drive, by going to the webgui and initialising it (setting it to managed)
Another thing would be to check is if it's not actually sharing the drive over a different protocol such as DLNA/UPnP, in which case, you want an app such as UPNPlay from the market to view the share on your router. though mine also supports SMB so it shows up as TECHNICOLOR\ on my Root Explorer and in the network computers on the computer.
Hope this helps you get to the bottom of it.
Thanks a lot for your help!

Is there a way to connect my x10 to my PC to enable disk use. When I connect use to connect my N95 to my PC. I was able to click on drive and be able to view files and add files by dragging and dropping. When I connect my x10 it comes up with the prompt "please insert disk". Has anyone had this problem?

He he!! it's amazing how much useful stuff they put in the user manuals these days! I know we blokes aren't supposed to rtfm but sometimes I find it quite liberating!

You need to click 'Mount Drive' on the X10 when the USB is connected to the PC. The X10 sends a notification when it detects that it is connected to a PC.
Ok so back when i had my tp2, i had this wonderful app called Wifi Remote Access that allowed me to connect to my wifi and computer and transfer files through my file explorer on my pc through wifi? And it was called ftp support, no i found an app on the market called ftp file expert or just file expert and dont know how to get my computer to do what the windows mobile app did?
Anyone know what i can do to make it so i can transfer files through my file explorer on my computer so i can copy paste and mange files on my phone?
Or another app?
Thanks
I use swiftp. It's free from the market & easy 2 use for file transfer. It helped me alot when I was having usb issues!!

I gave all u a thanks button
I use wifi file explorer to move stuff to and from my phone. It isn't as slick as showing up in your file explorer, but it gives you web access from any computer on the network.

Ya its only that folder too? Oh well maybe if i take thos folders in that one and move it to another? also it might be because i got a wifi error saying no connection on the app however it works fine and that is the only folder that wont open, i guess ill try reseting my router see if that fixes the error?

That's what Apple gets for suing Samsung.
Try these links.. hope it helps.

Or you can also use DropBox, but it uses the cloud.
You can't... Install Parallel's and load a Windows Virtual Machine. Samsung says its coming... SOMEDAY...

This is a good workaround.. I have a Mac so how you do the first part on a PC you'll need to find a solution.
1. Rip the movie with Handbrake to your preferred resolution
2. Download a App from the market called Software Data Cable
3. Download Filezilla
The app gives you all the info needed to connect over wi-fi and once its set up transfer any file to any directory.. Its sweet
download the Samsung keis software for mac

I'm having the same issue. I'm on a PC. My PC gives me a confirmation tone when the device is plugged up to the USB port, but no drive letter for the device comes up. How do I go about transferring documents to my Tablet from my PC?
I've already downloaded & installed the USB drivers from Samsung's site:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/GT-P7510MAYXAB
I got it working now. I just happen to see a notification that USB Debugging was enabled.
After disabling it, it's working as it should.
Yeah, disabling USB debugging let me connect via USB. You might have to unplug and then replug in your galaxy tab.
I have been trying to get my tab to show up on my mac but does not show up to transfer music/movies. Anyone else having problems?
Sadly its not supported

I saw an app on the market which can connect wireless, but 4.99$ I don't have the app, but it may work I will edit with link in a tiny bit
EDIT: The HD app is on sale right now for 4.99$ (usually 9.99$), sorry I couldnt put link up, using iPhone also, it works with Mac but you need snow leopard.
It's called Splastop Remote Desktop HD
It's great that I can use something like Teamviewer or Connectbot to connect to my home PC and download a file (onto the PC) remotely, from anywhere in the world using my fast and (practically) unlimited home broadband.
What I'd like to then do is download that file onto my Nexus 7. And occasionally upload files. However, neither Connectbot nor Android Terminal Emulator have scp built in and, while Teamviewer claim that their latest version has the ability to transfer files, it hasn't appeared on the Play Store yet.
Does anyone know of any other relatively simple solution to this problem? By simple I mean that I don't want to set up the PC as an ftp server. The home PC runs Kubuntu 12.04, by the way.

I've been using ES for a couple of years now, including accessing other nodes on my network with Samba shares. How, precisely, will ES be useful in the above scenario?

Airdroid?
AirDroid won't work over the Internet, only on a local LAN. Or, at least, it won't work from the free WiFi access points that I use.

Thanks for the suggestion. There are surprisingly few. But now I've had time to check them out I've found VX Connectbot which adds file upload and download plus other features to the original Connectbot.

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever figure out how to use SCP on VX Connectbot? It's surprisingly not documented well on the Net, on its homepage or on Github. This thread came up on Page 2 of a Google search!
No, I didn't get that far. I found that TeamViewer fitted my specific use case.
